Doesn't come with screws - save your old ones!

I'm only giving this a decent rating because it's a perfect fit for the application (FMV156DCC). I needed a piece of plastic that is like, in both shape and size, to my now-broken piece of plastic in order to replace it; what I had received was everything I had hoped it would be. It's a microwave door handle. It fits. However, it did not come with screws. That's my only gripe. This is a component that is secured to the microwave with 2 screws. Those 2 screws are integral to the installation of the component. Furthermore, if the component was broken and needs to be replaced, there is a decent chance that the screws were discarded along with the broken component. It'd only make sense to include 2 screws. For anyone who lost their screws, they're pan head, philips, self-tapping, course machine screws. Maybe #8-10. About an inch long. You'll probably have to take the handle to a hardware store and find the size that's a very snug fit, and that's the one. I'm not gonna give it one star due to the price. It's kind of par for the course - yet another tenet of life in world of planned obsolescence. Break a piece of plastic that costs 2 dollars to produce and it somehow kinda makes sense to just throw the entire thing in the garbage and buy a new one. Gotta love it.

too expensive - but better than replacing an old built-in with very low mileage

The handle snapped off of my built-in microwave, assumed it was broken, ordered this, hired the man, who took the door apart and discovered the only problem with the previous handle was that the screws were too short and had worked loose and fallen down inside the door. So, I spent $80 on this part which I didn't need plus labor to install it but the return window was closed by the time the man came. Regardless, taking apart a microwave door is not simple and most shouldn't attempt it due to the possibility of radiation leakage afterwards. Good times...

Replacement handle for a Frigidaire FMV156DCG

The handle on our microwave recently snapped off. I was trying to avoid calling a repair man as well as avoid buying a whole new microwave. After doing some research, I decided that it was cheaper to try replacing the handle myself and then go from there if it didn't work. I watched a few youtube videos and found that it's actually quite simple to replace this part. It's unfortunate that it costs so much to replace, but it's definitely the cheapest option. Just be aware that you'll need to keep the original screws from the microwave, as this only contains the handle, no hardware. In a matter of 5 minutes or less, I have a handle on my microwave again.

Replace your microwave handle and empty your bank account

A jerko ex-roommate busted the handle off of a microwave at a rental property. It took a while to get around to replacing the handle after we booted him out. This is the handle! And GOOD LORD is it expensive. It's too expensive. I could have replaced the microwave for less. It's a piece of plastic that has broken in the past and will probably snap off for the next renter. Doesn't come with screws, either, so hopefully you have the originals. Replacement is super easy and fast, so it's got that going for it, which is nice. Really though, I'd expect that this costs about $0.05 to manufacture and it sells for an arm-and-a-leg. Isn't this why Sears is failing as a business model in 2015?

Perfect Fit

The teens at home pulled so much on the handle that they pulled it off the door. So finding a replacement was not my choice. Although I wasn't too thrilled with the cost of the handle, it was better then purchasing a new microwave (that's whay only 4 stars). It was very easy to install and holds up well as it was when I originally purchased the microwave.

replacement for a handle that failed

original part to replace one that failed. didnt take too long to install once I figured out how to get the old one off the microwave door. seems solid but the old one broke after about four years of minimum use. we barely used the microwave. the only dislike is paying so much for a piece of plastic.

While I wasn't happy my original broke

While I wasn't happy my original broke, or with the cost of a plastic handle - that's no fault of the replacement so long as it lasts, as I hope it provides years of service. Install was easy, it looks great (much better than the super glued one it replaced). Fit and function are perfect, would recommend. I watched the price of it on Amazon and it never changed in a year, so I finally took the plunge when I sold my home.
