It didn’t fit and I will be replacing it

I liked this product but it didn’t fit. I will be getting another one once I get the refund. I accidentally put the wrong refund label on the package. It was switched with the 3 piece men’s suit that I returned as well. And the 3 piece men’s suit has this label. Sorry about that.

this worked in my gallery freezer

my fridge is only 6 years old and ice maker broke. my service guy suggested I buy a replacement on line because otherwise he would have to charge me more if he buys it. I got this for half the price and he said it fit fine althought it was a different manufacturer. hopefully it lasts long

Easy to install

The unit I received looked identical to the defective one in my freezer. Installed in 5-10 mins and the only tool needed is a 1/4 driver. Don’t forget to toss out the first full batch of ice in case there is any residue from the factory.

Easy To Replace, Works Well, Not Obnoxiously Priced.

I purchased this ice maker to replace one in my Frigidaire side by side that stopped working. The original ice maker was just shy of 7 years old and got a good deal of use (we have a family of six, consume a lot of ice in water and juices, and have a fair amount of family parties. The part in my Frigidaire PHS69EHSS fridge was #241709801. This replaces that part. It was identical in every way and what arrived was an OEM part. If you aren't sure what part you need, the original Electrolux/Frigidaire ones generally have the number on it on the side. Not the best place. I had to stick my cell phone in to snap a photo to be sure of the part #, or I could have removed it (a 2 minute job) The box was well packed and included the ice maker, fill cup and the white plastic guide which fits on the metal arm of the ice maker. It does not include any shield which you may have fitting on the bottom of the ice maker. That is considered part of the refrigerator, so if you have such a shield save it! The included instructions were simple to understand. It includes how to install the fill cup, but mine came installed. Removing the old ice maker and installing this was a breeze. After removing any shelf which might be in front of your ice maker, use a 1/4" nut driver to loosen (NO NEED to remove) the two screws on which the ice maker hangs. Then lift the ice maker off so you can reach behind it. Disconnect the white connector by releasing the snap guides on each side and gently pulling. When installing the new ice maker, just reverse these steps. The cables on the connector are color coded, matching what is in the fridge, and the connector only fits on one way, so it is hard to mess up this step. After you attach the connector, snap the two snap guides down on it. Then hang the new ice maker on the two 1/4" screws and retighten. Test the ice maker by holding the I/O button to I for about 15 seconds. You should see the ice guides advance. That's about it. Wait for a while until the fridge makes some ice and you're back in business. This is pretty easy to do and the price on Amazon saves you a more expensive house call from an appliance repair place. The part comes with a 1 year Electrolux warranty.

Know what your ordering.

My Frigidaire refrigerator icemaker stopped working. I called Frigidaire and talked to customer service about replacing my icemaker. They said they no longer make replacement icemakers because mine was over 10 years old. Went to Amazon and found my icemaker by part number. Ended up ordering three icemakers that looked just like the one I had but did not work. There are several distributors that Amazon works with. I found a replacement icemaker number and my last order was the exact same icemaker as mine. I installed it and it works great.

Icemaker Kit Performance Upgrade & understanding

This kit makes ICE and plenty of it! So much ice it would fill the freezer section. After many attempts to understand why, I got out the box that the previous one came in 6 years ago. After studying the instructions for the previous one, I noticed it specifically instructed the seam on the plastic paddle for the control arm be installed with seam forward. The new one did not come with instructions, however the shipping box had the detail printed on the outside of the box.It specifically showed the plastic paddle being installed with the seam to the back side. I reversed and it made a remarkable difference. Ocassionally it will over flow the bin, but not fill the whole freezer compartment. Makes good ice quickly,just need to monitor it from time to time. Supplier offered to replace it, but hate to give up ice and also pay for return shipping. Replacement could prove to be the same. UPDATE Supplier offered to REPLACE defective unit if I would return it with packing slip. I returned the defective unit several weeks before the 90 day limit with all the required paperwork as well as copies of the communication instructing me to return for REPLACEMENT. Instead of replacement, the original cost was credited by Amazon to my account. For the return shipping cost, I would have kept the defective unit and manually used it. It was deception on sellers part as they did not want to be out the shipping cost of replacement, and I am very unhappy with the outcome. BUY FROM LOCAL VENDORS AND NOT BE AT THE MERCY OF INTERNET SALES! FINAL COMMENT The product is good and makes lots of ice quickly. Vendor was problem. NOTE many have the same too much ice problem. Many note the 90 degree orentation in the shut off switch. The original tray does not fit the new icemaker unit. The original tray is allowed to move too far back causing inteference with the paddle switch which controls ice level. You have to eliminate the inteference by 1 of 3 REMOVE TRAY and loose storage, Pull tray forward about 1.5 inches to prevent contact with paddle when it cycles up. (Stuff in door can hit tray and move it.) SOLUTION I Choose. glue a 1.5 inch block of styrofoam to tray in vacinity of switch. THIS SANDWICH PIECE OF FOAM HOLDS THE TRAY OUT FOR CLEARANCE. Simple fix once you understand the simple problem.

Easy install

The only thing was the on/off button was turned the other way on mine so the cover no longer matches. It does not interfere with the operation of unit though.

Saved $$$$ big time!

I had an appliance guy come in and give me an estimate on replacing my ice maker and he said it would be $250. I go this one and it took me an hour to put it in myself with couple screw driver. Works perfectly!

I love Amazon prime

I love Amazon prime. I got this replacement part for my ice maker in only a few days. I installed it within a couple minutes. It was easy to install after watching a you tube video.
