The right part, poorly designed

This is an exact replacement for the original part, and that's the problem. This is the second time I have replaced this handle in the 20 months we have owned this stove. The first one was under warranty. As JEE pointed out, the screws that secure the handle to the door take a very small Phillips screwdriver. The screwdriver will drive the screw in part way, but it's too small to exert the force necessary to really secure the handle to the door, so one side or the other eventually backs out, causing the handle to break when you pull on it. This time I used small vice grip to grab the screws by the edge of the heads to twist it down until there is no play left. I hope that does the job. I'll need to keep an eye on it.

Screw Problems

The handle itself is a perfect replacement. The problem is the two screws. They seem to be self tapping. They also seem to need a special tool to screw them in. I have all kinds of phillips screwdrivers and special bits - none of them worked. I had to use a small vice grip plier in order to set the screws.

Third handle for the same stove.

This is the third handle for the same stove in a couple years time. We have spent over $100.00 on handles. The second handle to break happened while my wife was baking and opening the oven door. Fortunately she was not seriously injured.

Perfect!!

Perfect fit (as it should be) and colour was exact match. Wish they were manufactured to better quality but the product itself is great
