The air fryer itself is GREAT !! Well worth the money. The pan that came with it — they should not even include it. The 2nd time I used it; it chipped dipping out Mac & cheese Yes I used a plastic spoon. The 3rd time I used it; I used parchment paper. No chips in my food. But when I washed it, some chipping occurred The 4th time I used it with parchment paper (enchiladas) was the last time as I noticed it was starting to rust. I threw the food out

Really pleased with my purchase
I did a lot of research before I made this purchase, not just with Amazon reviews, but others as well. I always start with the one star reviews. I always want to know what others did not like about it. Some noted the finish came off the fry draw very early on. I read a "blog" that said, "never use a fat spray product on the airfryer because it has chemical that might react harshly with the finish. I have never used a spray. I bought oil sprayer. I have never put it in the dishwasher. After it pre-heats, I place a piece of tinfoil in the bottom. When finished I remove the tinfoil and it cleans up with a few swishes of a dishcloth. It is so easy to clean. Initially, there was a bit of an odor from the product, but it never penetrated the food, and it disappeared after a few uses. I have made salmon, beef filets, beef shish kebobs and reheated fried chicken from the local fried chicken store (It tasted perfectly fresh). I have also cooked vegetables.. I am in my middle 80s and was tired of cooking meals. I might make a double amount of vegetables and reheat them a few nights later. Using the Airfryer is so much easier than cooking with regular pots and pans.

Doesn’t make the grade as to value for the dollar
To start this review I want to say we run a total NuWave kitchen. The oven and two cooktops are what we use. In this old house we are waiting to remodel before replacing our cook top & oven, which are non-existent. So I know what I’m writing about as to NuWave products. The wife wanted one so Christmas came early for her. Pluses; This is odor free but for the food. No walking in the house after my granddaughter has cooked fries in the deep fryer to the heavy odor of grease. The food cooked well, and was very good. Three chicken breasts sliced into nuggets was tonight’s “Fry try” The wife likes it, with a caveat. Minuses; Clean up was over 15 minutes, way too long. I would have preferred we used use the NuWave oven and skip the batter. Yes it was pammed. Most everything came off easy enough, but 3 trips in to get everything clean. Cooking time was over 45 minutes, three loads of chicken brest nuggets, or one breast every 15 minutes. So this is more a ‘snack thing’ than something to prepare a main course in. That would have been the wife’s caveat, just too long because it won’t hold that much. It’s plastic like the oven. The only reason I didn’t smack the oven in a review was value for the dollar. I would recommend you shop around for much less expensive air fryer. If you have to buy 4 @ $40 before you get one you like, you will still be even. That’s where value for the dollar comes in. This is, to me, a cheap plastic thing that is way over priced because it has the NuWave label on it. The wife like it, so that matters here. But we trade cooking and cleaning so I don’t want any meal I’m involved in eating cooked in that unit. I hope they enjoy using it, especially @ $160.

Works perfectly
We'd avoided buying an air fryer for years since they seemed a fad gimmick, but an neighbor raved about hers so we decided to try one. We did research through Consumer Reports and other sources and settled on this one although it was more expensive than most. We're glad we did. It's fully featured, works perfectly to fry batch after batch, and is easy to use and clean. I wasn't sure if a fryer this large was too large, but it turned out to be just the right size for a family of four. The double-decker tray inside also helps when we need to do large batches or two different items like eggrolls and crab rangoon. We've even done cordon bleu and monkey bread in it. Now we stop by the frozen aisle of ethnic stores just to fund new items to throw in it: lumpia! empanadas! chicken katsu! It's been a lot of fun!

The fryer was so simple to use and the flavor of my sweet potato fries were awesome
I like the fact the fries were crisp and very tasty. I bakes or what the call it fries with no messy oil. Quickly cooked. There was no real clean up. After it cooled I used a paper towel to wipe off any crumbs. That was it. and that was nice. I totally recommend the fryer. And I got the add on piece so I can cook multiple things at the same time.

Cooks food amazingly well!
I have used this a few times and I am in love with how well it works every time! My first experience was cooking frozen chicken wings which turned out really well. Super crispy, moist and delicious. Right after that I made some fries which also turned out very well, just be sure to shake the basket half way through cooking so that everything gets crispy. Highly recommend this unit, I am excited to us the baking pan next!

Not a fan - maybe it's better for non-cooks?
I like to cook. I am used to frying pans, sauce pans, ovens, etc. We were really looking forward to getting this because we had so many friends and family raving about theirs. It looks impressive, although it takes up quite a lot of counter space! It is a decent looking unit and the controls are easy to use, etc. We used it three times before deciding it was not for us. We did chicken wings the first time. They were good, except I can do them as fast and in greater quantity in our regular oven in about the same length of time. The second time I did some frozen breaded fish filets. The third time I did french fries. The fish turned out terrible (but I am not a fan of pre-made foods anyway). The fries were good. The unit tended to smell like burning plastic. Probably because the working parts include what amounts to a coil element like on a regular stove and a fan that blows that heat down onto the food. The baskets were hard to clean. Food was at or below average. The design is big and cumbersome. Maybe at 30-40 bucks it would be a keeper, but at nearly $200 I would recommend serious cooks take a pass and stick to the regular pots, pans, stove top and oven. By the way it cost me $35 in postage to return it, so think twice about buying in the first place. All in all I was disappointed. - RR
