I have uses this leash for almost 6 months and there is no fraying the dogs love it. It doesn't hurt them, and they're not afraid of it. It keeps it shape for an easy lasso effect over the head. I put it on as a Bandalier when I get out my truck for easy accessibility. My number one staple for on duty. I use this rather than a control pole and have much better dogs. The thicker weight of it doesn't prevent doing a leash muzzle and it's more comfortable for the dog.

Helpful leash style to support leash training

The leash is easy to hold, sturdy but flexible and durable. My two 10 month old puppy brothers are rambunctious and love to chew. The Friends Forever Extremely Durable Dog Rope Leash with slip lead calms the boys down when learning proper walking behavior. When they attempt to chew the leash, they are not successful. We have had a positive experience using the Friends Forever Extremely Durable Dog Rope Leash.

Works great

I bought this to keep my dogs from pulling when we go on our daily walks. And this leash really works. They both have been walking beside me and following me, instead of vice versa. 10 out of 10!!!

No slip leash

durable

have 2 of them, one we keep by each door, they have stood up extremely well over the past year, note this is not designed for a dog that is not leash trained, if you expect this to stop a dog that pulls on a lead, then get something else. Our dogs spend too much unsupervised time in our large back yard to have them wearing a collars, this is perfect

Pretty good product, did not last as long as I would have liked

Things I do love about this product: - the built-in reflective strips. These were super useful and gave me sense of mind for walking down my driveway/near roads at night. Wouldn't recommend as visibility for long night treks, but car headlights shining on them definitely made them light up pretty well :) - the design, I really liked the faux leather accents, and as stated above, the implementation of the reflective strips - quality, way better than a lot of other rope slip leads I've seen. - the colors, I like the variety they offer and that they're a bit more unique shades then the standard red/blue/green Saying that: Unfortunately, they didn't last a year. I only used them on my dogs to take them for potty breaks 2-3x a day; I have sturdier leashes/collars for their training and walks. The point of breakage was the faux leather tabs. I try to reduce what animal products I purchase, so I liked that these had the look/feel of leather, but as much as I hate to admit it, faux leather just does not compare to the real thing. Biothane is definitely stronger than either, but the accents on these leashes was cheap pleather. Overall, if you're looking for a leash for potty breaks, kennel work, etc., but you're okay with getting it replaced every 10-12 months (which is a longer lifespan than a lot of those cheap ribbon kennel leads), I'd recommend it. But for your average dog owner, maybe not so much. I HIGHLY recommend Mendota slip leads instead, they are not much pricier than the Friends Forever leashes but will withstand a lot more. They use leather accents and the rope quality is much better as well.

Exactly what we needed

This has a nice feel to it, easy to hold and control. I used it to train her the heel command.. took a while since she was 2yrs old when I rescued her and she was an outside dog being trained for hunting. This leash made the point as gently as it could considering where you place the slip. She isnt perfect but neither am I.

Absolutely the best but watch the video. Don’t use it without watching the video.

These leads I bought in all different sizes I have two giant Bernedoodles. They’re puppies but they’re going to be huge. I am a tiny old woman and fragile so my dogs need to be trained so that I don’t get hurt. Will Atherton canine training on YouTube is where I found out about these leads and how to use them. Out of 25 or 30 different trainers that I watched on YouTube over the past few months he made the most sense and he also explained the lead. How to fit it properly and how to use it safely. My advice their wonderful leads however watch the video so you’ll know how to use it it’s only as good as the person using it. I can control my dogs safely for both them and me with these leads. They’re different than other leads. I think he’s on Insta also called I am Will Atherton.

Excellent, strong dog lead.

We have a 60 kilo sheepdog who is immensely strong and often very stubborn, so we need a strong lead! This fit the bill perfectly. Nice length, good strong rope that even she can't manage to bite through, and a lovely rich colour. Much better quality than other leads we've had. Highly recommended by this happy owner!

Dissapointing

Oh I’m so disappointed. I ordered 3 after reading reviews & I was very pleased when they arrived as they were nice and long. My dogs are walked off lead more than on so I was dissatisfied with the mauve one that lost its leather ( very thin) security slider & where you hold the lead for a walk to heel the outer cover has started to unravel. The black one the outer cover is intact but the leather security slide has word through. The red lead the top cover has unravelled where my 2nd hand goes. My dogs very rarely pull on their leads

Not great!

Lead is great but very long!! at least twice the length of a standard slip lead. UPDATE: after having the lead 2 months it is now falling apart! Our pup is 6 month old and not the biggest, a lead should not be coming apart like this one is.

I wouldn't say "Extremely Durable"!!

I bought this leash last September and just after few weeks of use, the leather stopper came off and then the next few days the stitches on the leather handle had torn apart. My dog is a medium size Shepsky and very well behaved when we are walking so it cannot be because of my dog. The rope itself is probably durable but not how it was constructed. Could've have been a nice product if they actually stitched it properly. I wouldn't recommend it for now until they fixed the leather stitches.
