Worth it for the DIYer
I bought this because the one I paid $65.00 for was a bust. The hardest thing about this nailer is finding 18 gauge nails. Big Box carry 16 gauge, so I ordered them from Amazon. I installed 1/2 inch tongue and groove flooring. Comes with multiple base plates for several flooring thickness. Worked well till I caused a jam. 3 screws to clear it, and back to business. I noticed that there was no mark on the nail slide to let you know you’re empty, so i made my own mark. Worked well. Would buy it again.

AWESOME ON 740 SF OF 9/16 NATURAL STRANDED WOVEN BAMBOO JANKA RATING 4800
I first would like to thank Bogdel and the people they sold it to for letting me know how it worked. 2nd to stop the duplicate questions it takes 18G 1-1/4 -1-3/4 ONLY. NOTHING ELSE. its not for engineered, laminate, or American hardwood. Engineered or laminate: get a engineered 20G stapler. Hardwoods get a 16G mallet Cleat / Staple Nailer. Next ill say it was worth every penny compared to the $600 Power-Nailer, or the Porta-Nailer or the $700 PrimeTech. also i will not mention the price but will say it has went up since i bought it. So i am happy with what i paid and would still pay what it is listed at now. but would rather pay what i paid the first time again. With all that out of the way. I will include images of the install, Not once did it jam on me in the 2 days of the install. Only face nailed 1 board as i was running down the rows pretty quickly. never double shot. and had 6 nails not sink all the way but definitely could of been due to the sub floor. I oiled it 2x a day once when i started, and once at mid day. of both days for a total of 4 oilings @ 2 drops each. also for those that had a hard time setting it right. here might be your problems. 1. don't go by the plates not all wood manufactuers are the exact same thickness. So put a plate on for thickness you think it is and then adjust from there til it is slight shy of touching the sub floor with slight tilt forward so the tip of the shoe makes contact. 2. when making contact with the bamboo don't feel for the resting point look for it. or YOU WILL FACE NAIL THE WOOD. 3. At minimum oil it before each use, better a 2nd time in mid day. 4.your hammer hit makes all the difference. this unit does not side hit well, dead on is important, and you do not have to slam it., but no sissy hit either., just pull arm up and give it a natural movign swing. 1 ft from the piston head. 5. lastly Air pressure. every air compressor is different with different recover rates and sfcm's. what works for one compressor will not work for another you need to find the right pressure. by start at the general recommendation and adjusting up or down from there 2-3 psi at a time. i found with my ridgid vertical pancake 150 mas psi compressor with 3.9 sfcm's that 72 psi was the sweet spot. and i could shoot half a strip of nailers before recovery began. so i paused til it recovered. otherwise not enough pressure and (Hence, why it would not sink flush). with all that said hopefully it will help some people out and i will be glad to answer anyone who might have questions or need help. but you do not need the $500 plus nailers for bamboo, BUT YOU DO NEED 18G, NO IF ANDS OR BUTS. and this nailer is strictly for bamboo as to not create the cleat dimple nightmares that have happened on so many installs. Last but no least: This is to freeman. When you make your next version add a few things. 1. If anyone is a tool nut like me and protects there investment include the case and raise the price a few dollars. 2. take your base plates and combine them into 1 and have slide on 2 side rails to auto adjust to any floor quickly with a quick lock bolt. 3. shrink your handle 4 inches, then i can get all but the last board and start using it after the 2nd starter row instead of the third. 4. lastly put a dry fire lock on so i don't fly by sinking cleats and realize a board later there's no cleats in it. Other than that this sums it up on this cleat nailer and its a great tool.

It's kinda hard to use
It was kinda hard to line up with the edge of the bam boo flooring. I miss the edge a few times and shot the face of the bamboo planks.

Easy to use
I purches this nailer for 1 project! To replace the carpet with hardwood. I pushed about 5000 nailes through . Not 1 missfire!!. I followed the recommendations and lube it every day before use. Excellent product.

Good tool
First off I am a carpenter with 26 years experience. I normally only purchase the larger name brand tools but made an exception due to the reviews. My project is small and this will probably be its only use doing two bedrooms. One room is around 200 sq ft and the other is around 250 sq ft. The tool itself has worked flawlessly. I installed the smaller floor but i did have to make a few adjustments. The tool came preinstalled with the spacer for 9/16"-5/8" flooring. My solid bamboo wood is the 9/16". PERFECT! So I thought...... After a few test fires to set the depth I was a little disappointed. I had to set my regulator to the minimum 70# of pressure and it was still aggressive. Aggressive enough that the depth was splitting the tongue of the flooring. I noticed the spacer wasn't thick enough and was making the front of the gun near the tongue of my flooring elevated. I switched to the 3/8"-1/2" spacer. There it was. The perfect setting. Regulator set at the lowest setting (70#)and my 18 gauge cleats were set but not splitting my wood anymore. Lovely. I simply chalked up the incorrect spacers due to it being a non big name brand. Finished the first floor with no hiccups and I'm looking forward to installing the larger floor in the next few days.

Freeman nailed it!
I was floored with how easy this was to use and the accuracy of each staple. Be sure to get in the groove cuz it will put a staple through whatever is in its way. I wasted a piece or two of hardwood flooring because I was not careful enough about the alignment. That's probably true of other nailers too, so just a heads-up. It has a fair amount of air leak, maybe by design, not sure, so the compressor runs often.

Great nailer for DIY project
I used this to install over 1200 sf of 3-3/4-in Wide x 9/16-in Thick Solid Bamboo Tongue and Groove Hardwood Flooring from Cali Bamboo. In fact this was the very first time I have ever used a flooring nailer like this as my prior experience was in glue down and tile. I gradually replaced the carpet in our house room by room over a few months with little to no help. This was a much better option than trying to rent. I found that the nails/L cleats went in just right at 60-70 PSI. The only times the nail didn't go all the way was if I did not hit the nailer right or if the PSI drifted down below 60 PSI. Only jammed once do to operator error. I oiled it with the included oil each day I used it.

Check each nail, does not load nails properly and there are several "misses".
Used with Freeman 1/75" L cleats. After about 100 cleats, noticed that it was only inserting nails intermittently. Subsequently, we are not sure how many boards were not nailed properly. The spring recoil is poor design and will not provide proper tension when there are less than 25 cleats left. Visual inspection of fired cleat is necessary after each insertion and constantly resetting the tensioner is necessary before attempting the next cleat. Turned a 2 hour job into a 8 hour frustration. Happy to finally finish the floor but will try other brands of cleats and rent a nailer instead of dealing with warranty returns and latent design defects. It is great when it works........

18 GA CLEATS WORK WELL IN 5/8 ENGINEERED HARDWOOD
The flooring nailer worked well out of the box, drives the cleats with ease with minimal splitting I followed the instruction on setting up the nailer foot for 5/8 flooring and still managed to miss a couple as it doesn't quite nestle in properly to get the cleat in the right spot. I did get used to it If they could improve that in the design, it would get 5 starts

and is perfect for very hard florring materials
once you get the knack of using this thing, floor nailing is a breeze. make sure the height is properly adjusted and that you strike it decisively. very light, and is perfect for very hard florring materials. I had it set to the minimum reccomended pressure and the cleats were perfectly flush in the stranded bamboo I laid down in my living room..

great floor nailer.
The gun was flawless never jammed.Just an FYI there is a double step on the bottom plate so it is possible to put a cleat into the face of the floor. Called customer service to find out which cleats to use. (any) a person answered the phone !!! no waiting.
