Must have for boiling eggs.
This eliminates the egg sticking from the shell. If you want a quick and easy peel this is one black magic tool. You crack the middle of the egg and don’t crack anywhere else. It comes right off and the top and bottom falls easily off. This works wonders.

Genius
This little gadget pierces a teensy tiny hole in the eggshell before boiling and makes peeling very easy. I wish I had one of these years ago.

suggested dishwasher-safe modification
Seems pretty nice with one exception - the sealed design prevents water from getting out after the dishwasher as others have pointed out. So I fixed that. Suggest using a drill instead of dikes as I did. The arrow and circles point to places to avoid drilling. The arrows show a support element and guide post. The oval on the other side is the same. The circle in the middle is where the spring rests. Just avoid those three areas and you should be OK. I did wash it in the dishwasher afterward. I shook out the water and it seems OK. I had no trouble with the needle. I twisted the egg a little to help it screw through. I think that will help. I doubt it will break any eggs but this is just my first time using it, pierced ten eggs though. I like it, much easier than a pocket knife!

Works most of the time and does make eggs easier to peel.
This is very easy to use but I apparently bought eggs with a super tough shell and since I have never tried to pierce an egg shell before I have had a lot of trial and error. I cracked 2 eggs by applying too much pressure and many of the others had such a tiny hole I wasn’t sure it even penetrated the shell. I have an egg cooker and even the two eggs I cracked were still intact enough to cook. I have found that the eggs are easier to peel since I have been using the piercer and even my husband can tell a difference. As far as cleaning I found that using a q-tip makes cleaning a snap. This piercer is small enough that I can store it in the same box as the egg cooker and that is really convenient.

I love this ridiculous little thing
I have one of these bought years and years ago and have just bought one for a relative while we're visiting (to leave behind, but also because I don't want to be without it while I'm here). It's easy to poke the holes without hurting yourself, and it has a handy lock for those who, like me, WILL find a way to self-injure accidentally while digging in a drawer if it is remotely possible. Piercing makes the eggs easier to peel, no question, and it's almost a requirement if you have fresh eggs by commercial standards. If you have farm-fresh ones, ain't nothing gonna help you too much, so manage your expectations accordingly or let them sit for a while, though my hippeh girlfriend says *baking* them rather than boiling or steaming helps on that front (end result is the same boiled-type egg). Please note that the price of this sucker varies widely (by percentage, obvs, as it's only a couple of bucks either way). It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but based on what I paid for mine at the fancy-pantsy kitchen store (admittedly back when dinosaurs walked the earth), the price here is sometimes a bit outlandish, even considering the shipping. (It weighs almost literally nothing so I'm not buying that argument for too much.) To the reviewer who glued on the magnet, my heart is yours forever. Why did that not occur to me? I'm forever gluing magnets and/or tying/sewing strings on things to hang them where they don't belong. Why not my best little egg friend?

Piecer pin is too big around and way too long.
I bought a Fox run and a Jawbrush egg piecer. The Fox Run egg piecer doesn't work as well because the piercer pin is much fatter making it harder to pierce the egg shell. It requires more pressure which increases the likelihood of breaking the egg.

It Works!
It is easy to use and clean. More importantly, it really works.

A game changer for hard boiled eggs!
If you lose all patience trying to peel hard boiled eggs, this is a total game changer! I have yet to ruin an egg during the peeling process when I use this!

Great little tool!
We had one of these for 40 years but it finally gave up the ghost. This one is almost as good - we added a little magnet on the back so it's handy on the fridge.

Must have for hardboiled eggs
We use these to make hardboiled eggs and it works SO well. You pierce a hole at the bottom of the egg and throw them in some boiling water for 14 minutes. Out come the eggs, and they are super easy to peel. This allows you to remove the shell in seconds, so easy my 3 year old can remove the shells completely in a matter of seconds. Can't do hardboiled eggs without it! Highly recommend!

These are very hard to find. This one even ...
These are very hard to find. This one even has a lock on it so you don't stab yourself when you pull it out of the drawer, or when you are pulling something else out of the drawer. It does its job well and keeps my fingers safe.
