It's a really nice pan, but not perfect

My wife makes a lot of angel food cake, and her go to pan is a Wilton pan that we've had for years, so this review will be in comparison to Wilton (it's also possible that Wilton has updated the design since we got our pan). There are slight but notable differences between the Fox Run and Wilton pans. One is not necessarily better than the other. To be honest, I think a perfect pan would combine the best features of both the Wilton and Fox Run pans. The Good Parts + The legs are longer than her Wilton + The center base + post are one piece, which means there's no big seam between the post and the base (unlike our Wilton), so it is *much* easier to clean. (#2 in the interior photo with the base+post in the pan) + Decent build quality and materials + Performs fine in terms of actual cake baking - it's very similar to the Wilton. Nitpicks / Hit or Miss * The edges around the hole in the bottom of the pan are sharp compared to our Wilton (#2 in the interior photo *without* the center post/base in the pan). The same goes for the hole in the center post. By comparison, our Wilton pan has rounded edges. * There are two rivets holding the legs to the pan vs one on our Wilton. While it will probably improve durability, it is a little harder to clean around the seams of the rivets. The thing with these type of cake pans is that little seam that is present is a pain to clean after baking, as the cake works its way into those seams. Potential Dealbreakers - If you don't like sharp edges, this might not be the pan to get. While they aren't knife sharp, it's still possible to cut yourself if you don't handle the edges with care. - The extra rivets catch cake goo that need to be cleaned out after baking, which is more work. Having said that, I've had to hand clean the Wilton a few times, and I'd take cleaning out the crevices of the Fox Run's extra rivets over the big seam around the post of the the Wilton.

really light weight

got this because i love to bake, especially cake, but never had a bundt pan so thought i'd try this. this says it is made of aluminum, and by the weight, i'd say this is right. although, saying that, i do not know if this is a good thing. this seems REALLY light. i guess thats a good thing in a way when baking a cake, less weight to take out of the oven, but also maybe not, as it might not last, or might burn, or even melt if its LIGHT enough. at the current price of $23 i would say it is in the competitive price range, but because it is so light, i dont know if it will last. if it stands up to being used, will definitely recommend.

Very good product

The angle food pan is very well made , the SS quality is good and finished well . The legs are very durable . Easy to clean but the leg connection takes some effort to clean (becomes easy if soaked . The cut is so sharp and can cut your hand but not so dangerous . The heat distribution is great

Good aluminum angel cake pan

Edited: I found it strange to see these 3 sticking metals… until having baked my angel cake this weekend. All angel cakes have to be flipped upside down after baking. With my old mould, I used 3 small glasses to hold it upside down. No more glasses and so cool to have this mould designed this way! ************ We know that we cannot bake a traditional angel cake in a conventional cake pan. This aluminum pan takes on the heat evenly and bakes angel cake to perfection. It is in 2 parts which makes it very easy to take apart and clean. The inner diameter is just under 9.5” which is a good pan size. It is lightweight, as expected with aluminum pan. It might be a little too big to make gelatin, unless you are a large family. Although it came brand new, there are some minor scratches on the inner removable centre tube, but barely noticeable and not a deal breaker. Good to know that this is hand wash only.

Very nice Angel Food pan, makes nice and fluffy cake

I love to bake and so do my kids. Angle food cake is so light and fluffy, its one of our favourites during the summer. This Fox Run angel food pan is 10.75" in diameter, which is a good size for making angel food cakes or other similar desserts. It is made of lightweight aluminum; the mold weighs only 9.6 ounces, which means even with the baked cake it is not too heavy to lift or maneuver. The removable inner core makes it easy to remove the cake from the pan once it has finished baking, which can be particularly helpful for delicate desserts like angel food cake. Aluminum doesn’t go in the dishwasher and needs to be cleaned by hand, so the removable inner core is much appreciated and makes it easier to clean and maintain. We are very happy with this mold and plan to make different kinds of cakes in here as well.
