Simple, useful, great.
The bottom clasps to secure back straps are difficult to join to bottom d rings. Besides that, a must for travel and much else. Even two compartments for magazines/laptop. One inside and one out the back panel. Great addition to travel gear.

Bag is smaller than size indicated in description!
First off, Amazon, as usual on time great service as always. If you need a pack that is 12" x 12" x 6" this isn't it. The pack I received was 12" h /11"w / 5.25" d. The clips on the top flap were bent in the wrong place so the straps would not fit (Q.C. asleep at Fox?). Lastly a metal tip on one of the top flap straps fell off. At this point most people would have thrown the thing back in the box and returned it, but I'm the type that never leaves anything stock and what I found was a well made bag with junk hardware. It took only a few minutes with a multi tool to fix all the problems, I plan on exchanging there clips with quick disconnects anyway. I deducted one star because of the size issue

12x12 - Perfect size, holds a ton. Great for conventions!
I got this bag to take to a con, and it was perfect. I wanted the capacity and comfort of a backpack, but without the bulk and dorky-ness of a school-style one. Whoever said this was too small, I can't imagine what they were trying to carry in it, because I had: 3 card games, dice, Nintendo DS, an energy drink, a gatorade, granola bars, a large power bank, small power bank, cords, phone, wallet, keys, and there was still PLENTY of room for all the stuff we bought throughout the day. The only cons: - Fastening and unfastening can be a bit tedious. - Apparently it doesn't have all the bells and whistles a true military mussette bag would; it is just that style. - If you are a large person, the straps might be smaller than you prefer, but since they clip on at the bottom, you could clip extra length on, or just go up to the 16x16. None of those were enough for me to deduct a star. Overall I was very pleased and would recommend this product.

Best knock-around bag. Ever,
This is my third musette bag. The first one I got when I was 17 and lasted about 20 years. It would have lasted a lot longer if I had taken better care of it. I threw it in the washing machine, used hot water and dried it in the dryer. Doing that once a year and normal wear took its toll and I had to replace it. The second one was great, but I got it in my head to try and water proof it. The method I used was not a good one (liquid rubber? Why?!) So that led me to musette bag #3 - this one is the best of them all. It has wider straps and two side pockets. I put on Otter Wax protectant, sewed on a sturdy leather bottom, added snaps to make it more compact when needed (and also to act as foot studs), and sewed a handle onto the top flap. The MG patch has been on the other two bags.

Great for the outdoors and as a travel bag
I have had this bag for 3 months, and use it weekly when I am beachcombing for sea glass. I’ve also used it as a carryon travel bag. I love that I can load it up a lot, but it still feels very light to carry. The one thing I wish it had inside is somewhere to attach my car keys, but overall I’m extremely pleased with this purchase.

Lower strap hardware digs into back.
Awesome size! Side pockets fit a 12oz Klean Kanteen perfect. Also my plan to be able to unclip the straps and clip them together to do cross body Cary works well. It is awesome to be able to do crossbody when justheading to car or bus, back to backpack for long walks. Only complaint is the placement of the D rings for the straps. They are too close together and dig into my back when carrying.

Great material, great space, a little uncomfortable
Kept together really well, holds a lot! My problem so far is that pretty early on, the metal protectors over the strap ends started slipping off... and those make it really easy to close the bag. Without them, it'll be more difficult to thread through the loops. The back straps also cut into your shoulders a bit if you're carrying anything heavy, but the bag material is great and I love using it for school and overnight stays with friends (got big books or blankets)

Not really a musette bag, but almost..
The whole bag is what I was expecting, fabric, feel, weight, color, even the smell of the dye...very roomy. Except for the strap. It's not one strap, It's two straps. They are attached and made to actually make a backpack, with 2 locations to attach the straps to the lower back portion. You can make a musette bag out of it, sorta. If you clip the straps together, you get a musette... BUT... The clips end up being the load bearing portion on your shoulder, and the straps sown on the same side of the bag (the back) will always press the bottom of the bag on your leg. I'm tall (6'2"), at full extension of the straps, the top of the bag is at my waist. I will keep the bag, a generous amount of duct tape around the clips will make for nice padding (this bag is going in the woods, not a fashion show lol). Nothing can be done about the "where" the straps are sown, but it's minor, if you can cushion the clips.
