it's just about perfect. I never have any problems with it scrunching ...
This is four stars because my son hasn't actually peed in it yet, so I can't say how well it will do actually containing the mess. If it does as well as promised, when it occurs I will change it to five. But as to how it fits in a Britax car seat, it's just about perfect. I never have any problems with it scrunching up under my son or twisting around under him in the seat. It stays in place when I pull him out, and he seems to not even notice it's there which is what I was hoping for. He's particular about his seats. I don't know how well it works in other types of car seats/booster seats but as it was made by Britax I imagine it's going to fit the best in that particular brand of seats. The materials seems very durable and high-quality thus far, but again it hasn't been 'used' yet so it hasn't been washed either. We'll update this when we have a more 'comprehensive' review of this product. ;) Edit One: So, after over a year of use I have a few more things to add. I have now potty trained a boy and a girl using this product, and have opposing views on this item depending on which gender you have. For my boy, he only had two accidents while in the car using this potty pad. However, both times the accident went outside of the area protected by the pad. I believe this has mostly to do with the fact that he's a boy. The leakage would begin on the strap that runs up between the legs (and is not protected by the potty pad) and would then soak down into the rest of the seat. Obviously, as any parent of a boy knows, the pee goes everywhere, so I guess short of those awful plastic pants no one uses anymore finding the perfect 'catch-all' product probably isn't going to happen. As for my daughter, she's had a few accidents in it as well, and for her it's done much better. We haven't had any leakage or spillage onto anything else, and it washes and dries really well. I do air dry mine after washing, just to be safe, but it doesn't take long. In Summary: Awesome for girls! Less so for boys. The average of 5 stars and 3 stars is 4, so the rating remains. I still would recommend this in general for smaller children. I bet this would have saved me a couple of car seat cleanings when poo-splosions happened, and taking apart car seats to wash them is an absolute pain!

Works great if paired with some trainers/extra layer
So I figured I would write this review to help other parents out in their potty training journey. I was hesitant to buy this because I saw some reviews claiming it isn’t waterproof. To clarify, it is waterproof, but depending on the size of pee accident and the clothes your kid is wearing, the moisture can wick along the seams where the belly buckle comes out and then leak to your car seat cover underneath. The first time I used it, my daughter peed and it wicked down her pants legs and under the pad. I had to wash my car seat liner after all. She was only wear pants since we are potty training and the recline on her car seat is fairly upright. After this we decided to put her on cloth trainers just for car rides. The picture I attached shows a pee accident that did not leak/wick. So overall, I think it’s a great product, but it would be nice if they made the more fabric come up around the belly buckle. If your kid is in underwear and still having pee accidents, I wouldn’t expect it to hold up. If your car seat is a bit more reclined, then the gravity might help the pee go more towards the back than the belly buckle.

Does not fit bucket seat (Britax BSafe)
Was super excited for this... But it it too big for the newborn bucket seat (Britax B Safe). Will try to remember to update the review once we graduate to the convertible car seat (Britax One-For Life).

A clear winner!
I purchased 3 carseat liners to test them myself. The Britax Seat Saver Waterproof liner, the Summer Infant total coverage car piddlepad and the Summer infant deluxe piddle pad. I put them on our high chairs, poured 1/4 cup water on each of them and waited 5 minutes to see what would happen. The Britax soaked in all the water, but the bottom side was totally dry. The Summer infant deluxe piddle pad came in 2nd, while it soaked in some of the water some stayed beaded up on top of the fabric. None leaked through the bottom. Finally, the Summer total coverage piddlepad came in last. None of the liquid soaked through, it all stayed beaded up on top. So if it was urine, taking a kid out of the seat it would have run all over and still made a mess. No liqud soaked through the fabric so I can't really say if the bottom liner is waterproof or not. We are returning both summer piddle pads and purchasing more of the Britax for both of our cars. FYI if you are considering the summer piddle pads, they are exactly the same size (though one advertises extra large waterproof protection). The same pattern is used to make both pads. The Britax has the most coverage out of all 3 models. I hope that helps!

Disappointing coming from Britax
We purchased this liner for our Britax Marathon car seat, for our toddler who is potty training. The backing is a flimsy soft vinyl that doesn't stay in place well or hold form in any way. There's a good 2-3 inch gap where the crotch strap goes, which is really bad no matter if you're hoping to use this to guard against liquid or solid leaks. The darker gray finishing around the edges also means wicking to the under parts if your child has an accident. It doesn't fit the car seat properly either, which I can't understand as it's also a Britax item! Where the back is supposed to be (see the seam line) is again a few inches off, so it doesn't go up nearly as high as it should to protect. It's also very awkward to deal with the straps, because there's no place for them - they just push the liner away from the seat. The materials it's made of are nice quality, it's soft to sit on, the vinyl doesn't smell, but the design it what "breaks" this item.

Not designed for male anatomy (glad we haven't actually needed it)
Our son has not had an accident in the car yet, but if/when he does, this won't help because the piece at the crotch buckle doesn't come up high enough to protect it from getting wet. (Our son won't let us put a diaper - disposable or cloth - over his pants, so we rely on him to tell us he has to pee and him holding it. So far, that is working far better than this seat protector would.) This design would probably work for female anatomy. We have it in a Britax Boulevard Clicktight. ETA: Protected the carseat from vomit. So, I gave it another star.

2.5/5 Stars for 50-50 chance of working
Our daughter is potty trained in the day, but sometimes when she falls asleep in the car while out on errands, she’ll have an accident and wet herself. I bought this so that I wouldn’t have to strip our Britax advocate down of all the padding to throw it in the wash and scrub out every nook and cranny in an attempt to eliminate the urine smell. I thought this liner was supposed to be waterproof... it seems to be hit and miss as to whether it will work or not. It’s saved my car seat from bladder leaks a handful of times, and does catch snacks that have fallen down, but there have been more times than I’d like where it leaked through the liner and I had to wash the car seat padding anyway. Even when my daughter wears training underwear that hold some of the urine, it leaks through the liner (maybe because it “wicks away moisture” to keep your child’s bottom comfortable, but it wicks it directly to the seat below). Also, the opening for the crotch buckle is too large and doesn’t protect it against any kind of leak for that reason. Even if you’re lucky enough to save the car seat padding from leaks, you’ll still have to clean the crotch buckle padding.

Funny fit
Doesn't seamlessly fit the Britax boulevard, and the back part tends to bunch up behind my little one's back. Seems as if it's just a tad too small, and it would be better if it were 'taller' n the back. Does seem to work overall, but the middle strap of the carseat will still get wet if there's an accident. It's better than nothing but not a full stop to accidents.

Have to readjust all the time
While this works well for accident prodding the car seat, it slides around when my daughter gets in and out of her seat so I constantly have to straighten it out so it’s not hunched under her. We now mostly just use it for the long car trips and take it off for the everyday stuff.
