Tutta l'argilla porosa naturale. Risciacquare direttamente nella borsa.

Beautiful natural color with varied sizes and shapes to grains.
The different sizes and shapes to grains gives it a natural look. Rusty color really makes the green plants pop. Highly pleased. Yes, it needs to be well rinsed but I see that a lot of peeps are doing it the hard way. Sit in your lawn chair while filling a large bucket with the garden hose…using the hose (on full blast) to stir the gravel, then dumping dirty water out onto the lawn. Repeat till water is clear enough to your liking. Took me a half hour for a 15 lb. bag. No big deal. My tank water was a little hazy the first day and was crystal clear the next day. It’s a shame that so many people miss out on having this awesome substrate because the whining about the rinsing turns them off. The image with the snail makes the gravel look pinkish…don’t know why…only included it to give a closeup of grain sizes and shapes. The other two pics show the true darker, rusty color.

Seems ok
I rinsed it via a hose, I didn’t take to long over it, popped a bit in a sieve, ran the hose over it and then put it in a bucket. To put it in my tank, I filled a cup, gently let the water run in and then took the cup to the bottom and (very gently) poured it. With this method I had no dust issues in my tank at all.

One of the Better Products Out There
Let's begin by saying that if a person knows what they're doing with this substrate, the outcomes will be favorable. These previous reviews citing the product's "dirtiness" or needing to rinse it heavily provide examples of what happens when a person does not know how to properly utilize fluorite in the planted aquarium. If you're new to using planted tank substrates, I'd strongly suggest getting advice from a reputable source. That aside, the product does not need rinsed, washed, and is not dirty. The more a person rinses, the less good the product can do. The trick is to: a.) add the fluorite to a dry tank, b.) do not disturb the substrate while filling the aquarium, and c.) if water cloudiness doesn't settle in a day or so, change the filter media. Adding this substrate to an existing tank is a terrible idea, as is excessive moving around of plants and hardscape once the tank is filled. Experienced aquariasts return to this product again and again for good reason. Let their experiences guide the use of this product and there'll be no need for negative reviews.

Happy
Not gonna lie, this substrate was sooo dirty. It took a very long time to clean it and that’s why I give it 4 stars. But once it’s clean it’s actually very nice substrate. I love the red.

Dusty but......
...if you rinse well it's not as bad as some of the reviews. I'm very happy with this type of substrate. I had gravel in my 3 tanks before I discovered this stuff, and the gravel was so dirty and my plants weren't thriving. I bought flourite black and was afraid even after rinsing many several times in a half hour that it would murk up my tanks. I put all my fish and plants in a giant plastic tote with their filter/heater/decor for a couple weeks while changing substrates and cycling again. The murk went away pretty quick, I had clear water within an hour. The way I rinsed: Dumped 1/2 bag of flourite in a large bucket. Rinsed by filling bucket with water over substrate and BLASTED IT with the hose until I filled the bucket with water. Let substrate settle to bottom (some flourite may blast out but it's an insignificant amount, in my opinion) then let water drain almost completely.... Then repeat this about 10-15 times or until it's only slightly murky. Dump in aquarium and fill with water as usual and set up as usual. After planting live plants and blulbs of water lily & water onion, and another type of seed in this substrate, I'm convinced this is the best substrate for my tanks. The bulbs I planted in this substrate that would not grow in the gravel are thriving in the flourite, they look beautiful. It has not clouded up anything and it looks more natural in the tanks. You can also see the fish scale color is much brighter against the natural and dark substrate. I bought this clay colored kind for my red claw crab/guppy tank. I haven't planted this one yet but I will update with pictures in a month or so. The pictures posted right now are with flourite black. Another thing about this stuff is: there are larger pieces and smaller pieces. I thought it would be more sandlike but I actually like it better than some other actual sand substrate. Just thought this might be nice to know in case other buyers expected it to be more like sand. It's actually small clay pieces. Your aquatic plants will love it! **update** 2 days later: So I wrote a review a little early for this flourite... Yesterday I almost came back to leave a 1 Star review... But I'm going to leave it at 5 because even though the dust was BAD with this red clay substrate compared to the black clay... It took 15 rinses with a hose outside and then I added it to my tank and filled with water... It was fully murky for 24 hrs. I put my decor and plants the filter in to help and ended up taking everything out after the 24 hours and rinsing everything off (it was covered in red dust/sludge).. Draining all of the water again and then refilling with water. Be sure to put a bowl with tall sides in to pour the water directly into the bowl so you don't disturb the substrate as much as possible. Let the water sit with NO filter going for a few hours and then let it run overnight with the bowl under the water flow if you have a filter that drops water). Then do not to disturb the substrate again when placing your decor... I placed a large abalone shell under my filter to keep the substrate from getting pushed around. (I know... Pain in the A but... Look how natural and beautiful my tank is!!)... Anyway, if you don't mind a little work for an amazing substrate with great results of you keep a planted tank... This stuff is really worth it. I probably personally will never buy this red stuff again but the black stuff is great... Low dust and the plants grow like wild in there! My crab seems to like it as well! My first two pictures are with the black flourite and the second two are with the red, as you can plainly see.

Great color and fantastic substrate for plants
I love the reddish tone - it has a neutral look and makes the tank look natural. Seachem says it is "specially fracted stable porous clay gravel." It makes plants grow great! It does require rinsing. I put half of the 7kg bag in a five gallon bucket, then rinsed and drained it ten times. Seems like a lot, but when I added it to an established tank, I had very little cloudiness - and that little bit settled out in just about an hour. I add CO2 and fertilize for good plant growth, but I really think the Flourite is crucial for the way my planted tank is flourishing.

Definitely did a great job
It didn't kill anyone in the tank and the plants love it so it's a win win ????

This stuff is dirty af
So I bought this because Amazon was selling it for 15$ for a 15lbs bag. Like other reviews said wash it and wash it and wash it and was it……. After about 30 rinses I thought it was clean nope it wasn’t so just keep washing it. I found drilling some hole in bucket and just letting the water run through it work well but took about an hour of constant water flowing through it to clean it

Find another seller
I wanted to give zero stars. Do not bother with this seller! See attached photos! 1. The product received had been taped in two places and there was still a gaping hole on another corner! The pack seems to be second hand!!! 2. The delivery was delayed without any email/text update. I had to chase up seller who informed me that the carrier Hermes UK had been rebranded to Evri and that I had to contact Amazon asap to avoid return charges. Evri website stated the obvious, ie there’s a delay and will try again! As I had been waiting for the flourite for over a week, I had no choice but to accept the package! Bad product! Late delivery!

Don’t add water right after
I think it’s good subgragate for plant aquarium. Some people complain about it contains too much dust, need rinse a lot. I don’t agree, the dust actually is like soils, it is needed for plants. I sprayed some water, plant the seed, and then some plants, keep it moisture for about 2 week, then fill the water. It’s just fine, not much dust at all. The second day, the water became clear. I am happy with the result. Just you shouldn’t put it in the tank and fill the water right after, it needs some time in the wet environment to settle down.

My go to substrate for planted aquariums.
This is a great clay gravel for natural aquariums. I used 2 bag of this + 2 bags of Seachem black flourite sand for a 36 gallon bowfront. I never pre-wash and I never have more than a slight haze that is gone within a few hours. You need to put a small plate on the botton of the tank or platic film over the bottom and then pour the water slowly onto them (Youtube has some great videos for this.) This will prevent the silt in the bag from being disturbed. After being in the aquarium hobby for 15+ years my advice to everyone new is be patient and don't rush anything. We all are excited and want to rush and put water in but if you allow yourself to slowdown and take an extra 10 minutes to fill your tank you won't have the aggravation and frustration many people on here have posted about.

Plants approve!
Note: this WILL make your water cloudy. DON'T rinse it first! The sediment is natural and will settle, this stuff is coated with minerals good for plants. I have had great success with both germinating seeds underwater, and growing existing plants with this substrate. The reddish colouring looks beautiful in contrast with green. Don't want to stir up red clouds every time you clean your tank? Surround your plants, driftwood, decor etc with bigger stones so they don't fall over, and keep in place.

Requires EXTRA rinsing
Good substrate. However, you require approximately one Olympic-sized swimming pool to rinse each bag. So, I would suggest talking to your local pool to see when they plan on emptying their water and use that. Even after rinsing with the entire great-lakes region, once the substrate is settled in your tank, it will become soft and any disturbance will create a choking cloud of micro particles. Plant any plants and place any decor before you add fish. Have polishing filters and micro filters at the ready. Use some of those liquids that help clear cloudy water as well. My plants are doing well in these rocks. And with care, so are my neon tetras.
