Love, love this but be careful you get what you ordered!

I bought this heated mattress pad hoping that it would help ease the constant aches and pains I feel from having fibromyalgia and I was not disappointed! The heat really helps to soothe my frazzled nerves and tense muscles, helping me relax and sleep just a little better (and let's be honest--we all want to sleep a little better, right?). I also love to turn it back on about an hour before I get up in the morning to help combat early morning chilliness and stiffness. It definitely helps me get up on the right side of the bed! I had previously purchased a Sunbeam Quilted Heated Mattress Pad before this SoftHeat model, and I felt the prominent wires in the Sunbeam mattress pad without even laying on it, all I had to do was touch it lightly. Needless to say, that one went right back. Since my body is extra sensitive to sensory input/touch, I totally believe it's worth paying a little more for SoftHeat's heated mattress pad considering that you barely feel its significantly smaller wires--which is worth its weight in gold. Most of the time when I'm laying on SoftHeat's pad I don't feel any wires at all. Though if I move suddenly and put a lot of weight in the wrong spot I do feel them for a moment, but while they're not completely invisible they certainly are heads and shoulders above the competition, and well hidden enough that they don't interfere with my ability to get comfortable or fall asleep. A brief warning though--when I opened the package there was nothing on the pad, the packaging, or in the instruction manual about this mattress pad being stain repellant or waterproof. This concerned me since you pay considerably more for the waterproof model than the regular SoftHeat heated mattress pad. I called the company directly to check if my hunch was right that I had been sent a cheaper model--and I was right. The SoftHeat/Perfect Fit company took my information and promised that a new heated mattress pad that was actually waterproof was on the way. I feel pretty cheated by whatever third-party company sent me a cheaper model than I had paid for through Amazon, but I think it would be unfair to knock down the product's rating for that--it has nothing to do with how good of a heated mattress pad it is. I just want to warn you to make sure you receive what you paid for considering you're paying almost double for the waterproof model.

Great Product

I love this heated mattress pad. Bought a second one today and wish that they made it in “long twin” also so that I could buy two more. I put it under my regular mattress pad, which is not terribly thick, and it works perfectly, keeping my bed just a little bit warm at the 3 setting, which is exactly what I like. The warmth is very evenly distributed-no hotspots. At first I thought that the control might slide off the bedside table because it is light weight. However, the bottom surface is made of a material that grips the table just enough to keep that from happening. The sliding is a problem I had with every Sunbeam I bought ( along with being too hot even at the lowest setting to keep on all night). I am also very happy that one does not have to worry about this pad catching on fire.

Mmmm warm. Great way to heat up bed and sheets

Really great at preheating my bed so the sheets aren't icy! It's also awesome to have on over night instead of having my central heating on wasting way more electricity! Pretty much as easy to install as a sheet that you plug in. My only complaint is I wish it had a timer to auto turn on so that I don't have to remember to turn it on 30 minutes or so before going to bed. Only since I have sheets that seem to absorb cold during the day. Great product that's lasted months (4+ since reviewing)

Pleasantly impressed

I was searching for a heated bed mattress and tried finding information on low voltage which is hard to find. I love the safety aspect but from the low voltage electric blanket reviews that I saw, many were saying that they are not as warm. Crossing that technology over to heated mattress pads made me wonder. I love heat and I was pleasantly surprised by how warm it is!

Purchased for my cabin that is off the grid.

I did a lot of research on this one. I have a cabin on the Canadian border , night time temps easily get to -40. So you want something that works well to heat up your mattress. My mattress is usually close to frozen when I get to my cabin. I start my gas powered generator and turn the mattress pad on high. It takes a few hours to get the chill out of the bed, but it works like a charm. I have 2 dogs that sleep with me. A golden and a Sheltie. No problems with them poking holes into the pad or cover itself . It seems very durable and water proof. I have not used it hooked up low voltage yet, but it is safe for generator use. Very, very happy with this product. Planning on purchasing another for my guest room. This is clearly one of the best purchases I have made for my cabin.

LOVE it!!!

This mattress pad is terrific! It heats up quickly, but the heat is gentle and can be adjusted easily. I have had problems with being cold at night for years and years. I finally found the solution in this pad. I start the night with the pad heating on #4 about a half hour before bedtime, and then turn it down to a 2 for the rest of the night. Love getting into a warm and comfortable bed, instead of cold sheets. Wish I had bought one of these years ago. It's great!

Super Love it!

Ok, its not really perfect. But its so good, I do not want to sleep without it. The brand name ironically is Perfect Fit, and I can't get it in the XL Twin size which I wanted for my two XL Twin beds I made into a king, but the King size fit very well. Unfortunately that one had a defective controller on my husband's side, so I sent it back, and they only had the California King. I got that one, It fits close enough, but I like it better because the heat coils go to my feet better. The regular King seemed to have the coils end before my feet. I have long legs and a tall person, and want warm feet too! Sorta like getting short sheeted! LOL. Anyway, I love my heated waterproof mattress pad. It really is great. And Amazon is the BEST!!!
