Installing the disposal flange is a good job for two people: one holds the flange in position from above, and the other pushes up the split wire snap ring. Pushing down on the flange from above is also a good idea while jacking the disposal into final position: significant upward force is needed to compress a new rubber gasket enough to engage the three "threads" on the mounting ring. All of that upward force is exerted on the split wire snap ring, which could tend to pop off. Once the heavy disposal is locked and hanging from the sink, gravity tends to hold the assembly together - so the split wire snap ring is no longer under much force. However, the design of your split wire ring and mounting ring might be different - read the other reviews about compatibility problems with this Kohler flange. Overall, the Kohler 11352 is an okay product of light duty construction and mediocre quality control. Our sample has prominent polishing marks, and they do show after installation. This is not in the same class as the Kohler 84804 / 8799 sink strainer, which is a gorgeous example of premier manufacturing. It's not a great value, but at least it doesn't have the billboard-like lettering that sadly scars the Insinkerator disposal flange.

You get what you pay for

It does not align with my sink, Ology, Josephine, 33 inch farmhouse sink other than that, I wish it were in brushed gold not polished. But it still looks great.

Looks good

My wife ordered a gold colored faucet but the sink fitting that came with the garbage disposer was stainless steel. I didn’t know all sink fittings fit all brands of disposers. The plumber, who was part of our kitchen remodeling crew, advised me of the universal fit. I ordered it, he installed it and it looks great.

Perfect match for my fancy sink!

Mine came with the lip not being at a flat 90 degree angle

I just completed installing this flange in my new Kraus 32" single bowl stainless steel sink (love the sink!) and I had issues; the flange "lip" had a rounded inside corner and was not at a 90 degree angle to its walls....the lip had a slightly open, upward slant to it. The open angle, combined with the rounded inside corner meant that the flange did not sit flat into the indent of the drain hole of the sink...the edge of the lip was a good 1/8" higher than the bottom of the sink. I tried buying a flange though a home improvement store, but the offerings from the home improvement store were not actual stainless steel like this Kohler flange, so because I wanted a stainless steel flange and being somewhat stubborn, I took the flange out to my shop and used three blocks of wood....one large piece as a base, a second small piece (1/4' thick) to lay between one side of the upside down flange to cause the lip of the flange to sit on the base piece of wood at a slight angle, and a third piece to cushion the blows (taps?) from a hammer to the bottom of the upside down flange. By tapping on the wood on the bottom of tilted flange and rotating the flange as I tapped with the hammer, I was able to close the open angle of the lip to a flat 90 degree angle that fit in to the formed depression around the hole of my sink. Once the modification was complete, the flange fit fine and the finish of the actual stainless steel flange perfectly matched the stainless steel of the sink, so I am happy with the final installation. But if you're expecting a drop in ready flange for a Kraus sink, you might be disappointed as I initially was.

Be careful about which finish you prefer

I gave this product five stars because I do not consider it fair to downgrade it for the reason I returned it. I suspect its quality is fine. I ordered this to use with a new Kohler sink which also has a brushed stainless finish; the instructions with that sink specified this as the disposal flange that would match that product. The finish of this flange did indeed match the finish of the sink, but it did not match the shiny chrome finish of the drains that came with the sink. I decided I would rather match the flange with the other drain rather than with the finish of the sink itself.

Looks good with a black sink

I bought this to go with our new black granite composite sink because I didn't want to use the piece that came with the insinkerator (it had their name written where it was large & visable.) I was a little worried the nickel color might stick out against the black sink but it looks fine; I don't even notice it. Our plumber just screwed it on so installation was super easy. Love the fact that the Kohler name is small and isn't noticeable.

Heavy and sturdy, but with flaws.

Retaining clip within the disposal flange is not as secure compared to what comes default with garbage disposal. Quality of the product appears to be okay beyond that.

Looks good and fits well, plug difficult to remove

Looks great and fit well with my older Kenmore disposal unit, my only complaint is that the plug is rather difficult to remove, especially with a sink full of soapy water.
