Acrylic Rulers and Thread Snips are GREAT, but the Rotary Cutter was JUNK!

I was able to use the acrylic rulers and the snips for my project but the rotary cutter did not work and I was only cutting one ply of cotton fabric! Maybe I didn't know how to use the cutter? I watched several You Tube videos on rotary cutters but I could not get it to work for me. Ended up using regular scissors. The set is nicely packaged and a small tape measure is also included.

Good starter set for quilting.

Always good quality and have bought for a gift for someone who has started sewing.

Good to have

During lockdown, my wife and I decided to take up quilting as a hobby/activity. Okay, actually she decided and I agreed to help is how it worked. But same result. We did all the research, she bought her quilting stuff, and I was the geometry guy and in charge of marking, cutting, and other prep. 6 quilts, 2 table runners, and a few pillows later, this is the result for this product: Overall, this is just exactly what it looks like it is. Nothing yet has broken, it has all come in handy, and I cannot think of any cons to this purchase. One note to user: This comes with one steel blade. These don't last very long, particularly if you test it out on a plexiglass cutting board. Get a self-healing mat. Nuff said. Just know that the better smarter move is to pick up some replacement titanium cutting heads. Second note: Those blades are VERY VERY sharp, even when they are so dull they are too much work to cut the fabric. They will also cut through your garbage liner. Best tip is to cut some oversize pieces of painter's tape or duct tape, wrap over the blad from one side to the other [think piece of cheese on bread], before tossing away. You can thank me later.

Me gustó muy útil

Me gusto mucho el kit, pero desafortunadamente para mí, la regleta que era lo que más quería viene en pulgadas no en centímetros ????, creo que fue una falta de atención mía. Por lo demás todo está perfecto y funcional.

Should have bought these same pieces separately...

Cheap set of tools I wouldn't even give to a child for their first set lest you prime them to accept mediocrity and disposability in what should be important tools, but I had to open the package to realize this so I will accept the mis-purchase as a learning experience, and the scissors and seam ripper might get some use as backup pairs. Shame on Fiskars for trading in on their prior reputation for quality. They advertised on the packaging and in the description for this item "Original Orange-handled Scissors". My mother was an avid seamstress and had the actual original orange handled Fiskars scissors, bought in either the 1970s or 80s, and these are not them, and are nowhere close to the quality. I'm fairly certain you can still buy high quality scissors from Fiskars as I saw those items at the time I made this purchase. I now realize I should have spent a little more money and built this same kit from Fiskars own or even other brands higher quality product lines.

Great versatile product

I love these for my sewing, and also for my tshirt and tie dye business. I am able to measure the placement of my graphics and custom vinyl to my dyed shirts, and because these are clear I am able to better measure the size of my graphics. The rotary was not as sharp as I needed when I used it to cut 100% cotton tshirt but I still like it, just may shop for something with a sharper edge so it doesn’t bunch up and cause bumpy edge.

Lo mejor es el descosedor

Compré este kit por las tijeras grandes y pequeñas, pero lo mejor es el descosedor; tiene bastante filo y la parte de arriba es como si usaras una goma de los pequeños hilitos que vas cortando; al tener un material como la silicona de cocina, arrastra los pequeños sobrantes de hilos cuando descoses una costura. Me encanta, ya que los descosedores que tenía antes casi no tenían filo, aún nuevos, lo que hace que jales demasiado el hilo y lastimes la tela.
