Beautiful sound, heavier than expected

Bought this stuffed animal/sound maker to soothe my newborn. The sounds are wonderful!! It soothes the whole house and sounds like the kind of music at a massage place. The product itself is rather bulky and heavier than unexpected so it’s not a cuddle toy. Overall I would purchase it as a gift for someone with a newborn.

Nice Little Seahorse - One Complaint

I bought two - one for each of my two baby boys and they really enjoy them. The glowing light and soft music are very comforting. You can choose either 10 or 20 minutes of play time, which is great. The only complaint I have is the connectivity with the app, which does work but you have to close and restart the app several times in order to refresh and actually connect - very frustrating when you are trying to rush to turn it on remotely from another room, to comfort a crying baby in the middle of the night. Wish they could improve on the connectivity aspect.

Every. Single. Baby. Needs. This.

This toy saved my son’s sleeping routine. He had troubles sleeping in his crib and now he won’t go to bed without it. He cuddles it from the moment he falls asleep to the moment we wakes up. Some of my favorite memories are laying him down and watching him grab it and pull it close to him???? he had the original one but would get nose bleeds so we decided to buy a second so he wouldn’t have to go without during a cleaning and this one is so much better. The color changing, the song options. I’d buy every single one if they had more of a collection

Great toy!

My one year old loves his seahorse. We use it for bed time and he smiles when he hears it turn on! We don't use the app, but going in and turning it back on is simple.

Babies favorite “toy”

Bought this for my three month old daughter. It is now her new favorite toy :-) we use it in the car seat and it not only calms her down but she loves to look at the colors and hear the music. It’s very nice that it please for 10 minutes, a lot of the musical toys only play for a minute or two. Would definitely recommend this to anybody with a young kid :-)

Perfect Goodnight Toy

So I just got my very own seahorse for my baby, expected in May. However, the reason I bought this is my nephew has one. The volume is just perfect, not so obnoxious as to keep everyone up and the sound quality is better than a lot of my big ticket items I have (bassinet, bouncer, etc.). The song selection isn't half bad either. He loves it still (has had it a few years) to use as a nightlight when he wakes up in the middle of the night. I would have taken his had he not still used it and it wasn't quite so loved (it's probably about time to replace). What I didn't know was it can connect to an app to customize. (I don't think my nephew's can.) Mind blown. Did not read the item description before purchasing because I thought I was getting the exact one my nephew has.

UPDATE: The app has had several changes, it seems, but I could never get it to work since the February update... however, I recently got a new phone and it now seems to be working perfectly. *crosses fingers* Not sure what Fisher Price had against my old phone, but I'm happy it's finally working again, as you can see in my second picture. You still can't play your own music, though. That ability alone would be an automatic five-star review. I'd love to play real lullabies or classical music instead of the short clips of tinny, midi-style tunes that come preprogrammed into the seahorse. PREVIOUS REVIEW: The seahorse itself works fine. Squeeze its tummy and the music & lights come on. When I bought this last month for my baby's Christmas gift, the app was kinda clunky, but it worked ok. I could access the basic functions to raise and lower brightness & volume and set it to play music for 10 or 20 minutes. It wasn't exactly everything I expected, because I was not able to play my own music through the seahorse--the only way I could play my music at all was through my phone via the app. And there was really no point to that, because if I wanted to listen to my music on my phone, I'm going to do that without the Fisher Price app. It would've been fun to play some of our own lullaby music through the seahorse itself, but oh well. Baby still likes it and the pre-programmed music isn't terrible. *shrug* Anyway, all was well until a few days ago when Fisher Price decided to roll out an update to their app, presumably without properly testing it. I had to create a Fisher Price account to sign in (eyeroll) and then re-establish the connection with the seahorse. But what's this? The seahorse cannot connect. I only get an error message (pictured). Every single time. I have tried everything. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app, turning the seahorse off and then back on, turning my Bluetooth off and then back on, reading every single Q&A in their troubleshooting/FAQs section, I've even tried connecting to their in-app Virtual Assistant (which starts to connect and then disconnects almost immediately, each time). I'm pretty disappointed, to be honest. I expected better from Fisher Price/Mattel. If they ever fix the app, I'll return and edit my review, but in the meantime, I'm pretty much left with a more expensive version of the cheaper, basic seahorse toy, which is not what I paid for.

A must have for every baby

I am now a fisher price convert…. I was looking for a new white noise for our upcoming baby. Being indecisive, I bought all of them for comparison… I ended up keeping the soothe and glow seahorse and the smart connect deluxe soother. The seahorse is primarily for the car (especially at night) and as a backup for bedtime. I had my 4yo daughter test out all the white noises…and the only one she refuses to give back is the seahorse! She remembers it from her childhood and of all the things to happen, it’s been making her current bedtime routine easier! She’s less whiny and lets me leave faster…and then my 6yo started asking for it after younger sister falls asleep. But when I try to slide it out of her sleeping grasp, she wakes up! I guess I’ll be buying two more seahorses. There’s no need to buy the smart connect version. The cheaper one is fine unless you want more customizability, which again is entirely unnecessary.
