LOVE THIS THING! My daughter will actually sleep more then 1 hour in her crib since we got this. She sleeps in my husband and I’s room (she’s under one) and we even like it !! I’ll be bummed when we transition her into her own room that we don’t have it !???? We travel with it everywhere we go if we are gone for overnights ! Super cute, affordable , love the ability to use the app . Only a couple downfalls ! -it has to be plugged in, which honestly isn’t horrible, one less thing to buy batteries for.. am I right ? -the app is not always the most reliable . -not the most portable, but if something works you make room for it if it helps the baby sleep!

Good overall, but I wish it was louder and the light could be dimmed.
I like this nightlight/ sound machine soother. It is decent. I like the fact that it has several options of music and sounds to choose from. We personally use the white noise sound when baby sleeps, but we enjoy listening to the music when she is awake. I wish there was a way to make the white noise sound louder, but the actual music gets pretty loud. The light projector with the colorful stars is wonderful; my baby loves watching the stars change color. The middle, main white light with the animal projections is fine, but I would like it better if there was a way to adjust the brightness of that light, as I would enjoy a more dim light at times. There is a mobile app that allows you to control the machine from your phone, which is convenient if you need to change the settings from afar, but I personally like to keep it simple and use the physical buttons. Overall, it's a good soother machine for the price, and I will possibly be buying another one as a baby shower gift.

Doesn’t have enough routines available
We like this bedtime routine trainer nightlight for our 4 year old son. The only complaints we have are as follows: • Add routine options: The Lumalou only allows the option for one routine setup at a time. So if we setup sons bedtime routine for the week, it doesn’t allow us to setup a morning routine as well. I imagine next year we will look for a more advanced sleep system if they don’t update this one without having to buy a brand new item. • Option to brighten light on back even brighter: We do like the red light displayed on the star with the smiley face at beginning of the naptime setting & that it goes away after a minute to just red light only in the back as u can see in my pictures. I also like I can set the duration of naptime right there on the same screen. I do wish the light on the back could be adjusted to shine a bit brighter. Note: after you hit start naptime, you have to hit start soothing for the music to start. This wasn’t obvious to me right away. • OPTION for music to stop & an alarm to sound when nap time is over: If I don’t hit finish naptime before timer goes off, the machine switches from playing lullabies to playing white noise while all the colored lights go out. This keeps my son assleep… he doesn’t wake up in the transition of lullaby to white noise so he doesn’t even see the green light to know nap is over & he can get up. We do wish the option exist at nap time for all sound to stop when nap duration is over & green light would be on for at least 4-5 minutes. It also seems like this function could be improved by adding a white light on front to imitate the sun or just to light the room. Thank you.

Finally getting sleep
I took a chance getting this not knowing if it would work, but my almost 3 year old has been sleeping through the night and all morning with this soother night light. We needed something that played music and projected stars on ceiling all night long and so far this product has been a life saver!!!

I wish it was brighter
Bought this sound machine to double as a nightlight in the nursery and it’s not very bright. The animals projected aren’t very visible except right above the machine on the wall. I was hoping the animals would appear on the ceiling but no. Also the white noise is fine but I wish it had more songs, it’s like the same 2 tunes. So it’s an ok product but I probably wouldn’t buy it again

The best white noise available
I was looking for a new white noise for our upcoming baby. Being indecisive, I bought all of them for comparison and had my other kids test them…and now I’m a fisher price convert. I ended up keeping the smart connect deluxe soother and the soothe and glow seahorse. (See my other review where my 4yo won’t give me the seahorse back!) What I found during my comparison is that no white noise has all the features you need/want. The perfect white noise must include customizable noise, on/off timer, and a night light. The deluxe soother paired with a Gosund smart plug is my best recommendation for a white noise setup in the bedroom. The seahorse is good for the car, especially at night or on trips away from home. I really, really like the sleep stages on the deluxe soother. It’s a great way to wind down at bedtime and starts putting ME to sleep! The music/lights get softer/dimmer as they transition from settle to soothe to sleep stages. The light show is also fun for kids. I had no problems with the app or connecting. There’s good customization but you’re also limited by the presets. For example, you can set a timer on the sleep stage from 5mins to 1.5hours, or continuous. Why not 11 hours? Why not turn off at 7am? This is where the smart plug comes in: you can use it to schedule when the soother turns off, although you still have to manually turn it on at bedtime. This soother could become perfect with an update to the app allowing you to schedule when it turns off in the morning. I paid significantly less than MSRP and felt that was fair. If the price goes up, I’d probably recommend an off brand white noise that is blue with buttons and plugs straight into the wall. You can find it in my other reviews. I also kept that one but plan to use it in the hallway as a white noise barrier between baby’s room and the kitchen.

App doesn’t work in Canada
App does not work in Canada. I purchased this to be able to control from my phone without going into the nursery. App is unavailable for my country on every device I tried. Product shouldn’t be sold in Canada if the associated app doesn’t work here.

Best purchase ever
We searched for a night lamp, so that I could feed our newborn easily without waking up my husband - and I adored the design of this lamp. And it turned out to be the best purchase ever. I just love this lamp and everything about it. It even has an app with remote control and buttons on the lamp itself, everything extremely easy to use. There are 3 light modes - night light, star projection on the ceiling, and a sideways animal projection to the walls , which I use as a bright night light. All of them adjustable in the app. It has nice variety of music (setting *5, soothing *5) and noises*6, with adjustable volume level - both with the buttons and in the app, separate timers for light and music (only in the app). There is a possibility to customize a sleeping routine, but I didn’t use it much, as well as preset programs, and just chose whichever I need at the time. I love the lamp so much it even travels with us and is essential part of my baby's sleep routine Speaking of tiny downsides - it works only plugged in - the buttons of the lamp are dimly lit on at all times when the lamp is plugged in, and brightly lit up when the exact setting is turned on. And we hate any unnecessary lights in our blacked-out sleeping chamber, so my husband taped up all buttons with the black electrical tape, as I mostly use the app. - and a plea to Fischer-Price technical support - please, fix the companion app! It's working not bad in general, but it sometimes loses connection, had been unsuccessfully trying to install updates for the last half of the year, and once a month either the app or the lamp itself bugs out and turns off completely, so I have to unplug and plug it back in. Nonetheless it's the best and I totally recommend it.

Lots of room for improvement
I bought this for 49.99 and of course now it's 20% off! At that discounted price, I think the cons are worth it. At 49.99 or more, I wouldn't recommend it. Pros: it's cute. I like the personalisation you can do with the timers, colours, different sounds etc. Cons: it's often hard to connect (but the app does work in Canada!). I always get notifications that it's draining my battery which is very annoying! There are really simple features that are missing: no timer on there so you know how long it's been going, no way (that I can find) of having a different volume for the noises vs the music/songs. I find the songs at full volume way too loud and the noise at full volume to be pretty quiet. Finally, sometimes it just turns off on its own and I can't figure out why. The opposite is also true (that I set a timer and it still keeps playing past the timer). It's very finicky but most of the time works well. It's one of the higher priced items I've bought (I usually thrift or Craigslist baby stuff) and overall I don't regret it. Added in November 2019: dear god, why in the world can the button lights on the device not be turned off??? They are so bright and very annoying if you just want it to be dark!

Should do more of what it doesn't do, and less of what it does do
Pros: nice sound quality with music and nature sounds... star pattern does grab the little man's attention... smart app controls are gratuitous but fine... has a nightlight feature. Cons: the animal lights are pointless, the lateral part is just pure shine and no projections, drowns out the nightlight... and for the price, I ask you this: was I crazy to expect this thing to rotate at the top? Because it doesn't, and since I was looking for a mobile-type item I must say that making it round was uncalled for.

Great product, but one word of warning...
Very easy to use, multiple settings and options that are useful at different times. The timer feature is great too! My only caution is with the volume setting and long-term use of the white noise/pink noise or other sound effects with this unit. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends keeping white noise machines below 50 decibels to prevent hearing loss. Studies have shown that’s, in addition to increased hearing problems, using white noise increases the risk of problems with language and speech development. Therefore pediatricians recommend that any white noise machines should be placed at least 7 feet away (200 cm) from your baby’s crib. You should also keep the volume on the machine below the maximum volume setting. With this unit I found the white noise was over 50 decibels at less than half the maximum volume. You can download an app like Decibel X to measure the volume and find an appropriate setting for yourself.
