Better than expected

UPDATE: I can attest that this pan not only was super easy to clean, but also that it was easy to reassemble. Original review: I've had bad experiences with springform pans in the past. Mostly, the item being baked stuck to the interior of the pan, the little ridge at the bottom that holds the pan's bottom was difficult to clean, and the pan was difficult to put back together after cleaning. NONE of these were issues with this pan. Honestly, I was stunned at how easily this cleaned up after baking a cheesecake in it. It also released from the baked good very easily. The cheesecake is still resting on the pan's bottom, but I'll come back and update this review if I have any trouble reassembling it. But everything else worked great. I highly recommend this pan.

Quality tools make baking so much more pleasant...

I got two of these and have baked appeltaart (a Dutch thing) in them several times, and they work great. I always grease them with spray-can canola oil baking spray and then dust with flour, but I have a sneaking suspicion that with the non-stick coating, you probably can get away with not doing that. The non-stick coating is very strong and doesn't scratch up easily like with some cheaper non-stick products, and makes them easy to clean. They're quite heavy and the clasp mechanism is solid and easy to operate. Some people comment that these are leaky when you put liquid batters in them, or use them to make water bath cheese cake. I haven't tried that. Even if it were the case, I'd hate to take stars away, because I personally wouldn't use them for that, and they weren't advertised as leak-proof. There are other springform pans that are advertised as leak-proof and if you're going to do something where that is required, you should probably look into those.

High quality, well-made, leak-resistant spring-form pan.

This is a very well-made spring-form pan! I've made several cheesecakes and a timballo with this pan and I get great results every time. It is not leak-proof but it is leak resistant. It does not let in a lot of water & so far, none of my cheesecakes have had a soggy crust or even a wet crust. I have had really nice crunchy, cookie-like crusts on every cheesecake I've made. (This replaces a spring-form pan made by a very well-known specialty cooking products manufacturer that leaked like a sieve & this pan beats it in that regard, hands-down. And the cheesecakes have always cooked evenly. I can't fault this pan at all, as I just don't think leak-proof is possible. That said, this pan comes extremely close, and close enough to be perfect.

I think it will work fine for cheesecake

I think it will work fine for cheesecake. Used once so far to make a quiche recipe that required this type of pan. It leaked immediately, so put tinfoil around pan. Spent a lot of time getting the little edge at the bottom of the side part clean - had to use toothpicks. Hoping this was only a problem because of the leaking. Other than that it seems well-made. I did put parchment paper on the bottom so I could move the quiche to a plate so we wouldn't scratch the bottom of the pan when cutting the quiche. I would do this if making a cheesecake as well.

Great for the price.

Purchased about 2 1/2 months ago I, as of yet, have not experienced and leakage from this pan. It is easy to clean, and my cheesecake does not stick. Sometimes, depending on the type of cheesecake I make, I do add parchment paper for added protection. As I stated above this pan does not leak. I may use parchment paper because I do not want to have to clean the bottom of my oven in case it may leak.

Good but NOT LEAKPROOF

The pan is fine, my cheesecake came out well and nothing stuck to the sides (but I oiled them first) - just be aware that contrary to the sweethome review (which is the reason I chose thisnpan) - it is NOT LEAKPROOF. I didn't get large enough tinfoil to cover the pan in one sheet, my own fault I suppose, and some water got into my cheesecake crust. A little butter also leaked out the bottom of my pan during baking. This didn't ruin my dessert and all in all I think it's a flaw of this type of design, not necessarily this pan. I would use silicone for anything else besides a cheesecake.

Good Product

Really good pan. I received it well with no issues and shipping was fast if I remember correctly. It's extremely durable and I have only had a leaking problem once but it wasn't anything detrimental or drastic. As with any springform pan, leaks happen and you should always place some tin foil or something below it if it is a thin batter. Great product, highly recommend.

Make sure you brush all the crumbs out of the gap at the bottom of the round when you wash and dry the water that stays on the same spot before you store. Other than that, this product is good to use for a while.

These are great. The only complaint I have is that there's a bit of a rim on the bottom of the pan, so if you're trying to lift a cheesecake out it may need some fiddling.

Poor design and poor manufacturing quality

Stay away from this pan. The manufacturing quality is extremely poor. The first one I ordered, for a birthday cake, arrived with two manufacturing defects that would affect cake quality in the long run (there were two spots where the non-stick coating was punctured and missing). I spoke to Amazon, which was fantastic about sending a replacement the next day, in time for the birthday. Unfortunately, the replacement pan leaked, which I attribute to the poor design of the lip holding the base in place, as well as the poor manufacturing quality (there is a bulge in the ring's metal (by design), which aggravates leakage. I have used many springform pans over the years (most of them have lasted me ten years each), but this is the worst design I have encountered (I relied on wirecutter.com's recommendation), as the leaked batter gets baked inside the narrow metal groove, making it extremely difficult to clean. With my other springform pans, they never leaked out of the pan -- which this Farberware one does -- and the metal grooves were simple and efficient to clean with a toothbrush. With this Farberware pan, I spent so much time and water trying to clean the groove; it is just extremely poorly designed. The pan is also very cheap. It is not heavy at all (contrary to wirecutter.com's review). The clasp to open and close the ring is also a piece of junk. After the first wash (before even using the pan for baking), the clasp started to rust fairly severely. My former ten-year-old pan did not even have any signs of rust. Save your time and money, and avoid this poorly-designed and poorly-manufactured pan.

La calidad del molde es muy buena pero estos moldes no son para principiantes, antes de usarlo es necesario ver un tutorial de como los sellas para que no filtren líquidos. Se desmolda perfecto.
