Time saver
Takes a little getting used to but saves time of tediously slicing garlic.

perfect slices
It works for me to slice garlic. I might tape over the grater part with masking tape because I don't think I will use that portion of the grater.

It actually works
I thought for sure this wouldn’t work. It works like a charm

Who even knew this was a thing?!
My hubby loves to cook and uses fresh garlic in almost every dish he makes. I came across this and thought I’d give it a try as I watched him use the smash with a knife method for years. He was skeptical but amazed at how well it worked once he tried it. So now this lives right next to our garlic press and is used on almost a daily basis. What a wonderful time saver!

Deeply flawed design, but I was desperate
If you look carefully at the illustration, you'll note that this device can do 3 kinds of slicing to the garlic: a mandolin, a fine grate, and a coarse grate. Unfortunately, I didn't look carefully enough. I was so excited by the ability to coarsely grate (the coarse grating section is last, near where you grasp the grater). I had something identical but much better -- it only had the coarse grater. The problem with having 3 techniques available on 1 small device is that it's very difficult to isolate your motion to just one of the 3 methods. I was about to give up and return it when I realized that if I held it backward, I could effectively isolate the coarse grater (all that I want to use) from the other 2 options by grasping it backward and having my hand cover the annoying mandolin option (doesn't work well) and the equally annoying paste option (also performs poorly). But the coarse grater at the back is good, and is by far the easiest of the 3 options to use because the grating area is relatively large, provided you hold it backward. Sounds weird, I know, but I'm glad I avoided a return with my work-around.

If you love garlic like we do...
Buy this little gem. When we lived in North Central California, in the Monterey area, we were blessed with immediate access to some of the freshest vegetables available. And the annual garlic festival in Gilroy was awesome. On one particular trip to Gilroy in 2001, I stopped in a few of the tourist-trappy garlic-product stores, where I serendipitously discovered a very similar garlic press. I used that garlic press for over 10 years. Now, 11 years later, I must thank Amazon and this vendor for (again) helping me to enjoy cloves and cloves of crushed, minced garlic, with little effort. (The press purchased in Gilroy finally gave up the ghost early last year, and we ended up trying several dissimilar, more "contemporary" models) You won't find a better-leveraged, more capable garlic press. Please don't buy the other presses that have the hinge located at the top of the press. IMHO, those presses are a distant second-rate design when compared to this little gem. True enough, this press is not dishwasher safe. However, if you enjoy cooking with massive amounts of garlic, something tells me you are not afraid of a little washing of the dishes by hand. My wonderful wife and I have a fairly good system in place: I cook; she cleans. When using this little gem, I make it a point to simply pop it into a glass of water, press-side down. This helps to loosen the pressed garlic from the press, and it prevents the garlic from hardening onto the press. Bottom line recommendation: Buy it, wash it by hand, and enjoy AWEsome bits of garlic with very little effort.

It works! Peel garlic with ease
You have to apply a bit of pressure when rolling the garlic, but the ease of peeling several cloves in less than a minute makes this my go to. Simple to clean.

Not Dishwasher Safe, But If That Isn't Important to You, It's a Good Choice
Great product, does a good job of pressing garlic and is easily to clean with the red piece that helps remove remaining garlic pieces from the strainer. It is also a great price! My only complaint is that it is not dishwasher safe! For me that in itself is almost a deal breaker. And to be fair it does list that it should be "hand washed" but it is down in the description and when I was skimming through garlic presses trying to select which one to register for for our wedding I didn't notice it. I also noticed that some people are commenting that it rusts or breaks almost immediately. I have used this item at least 15 times in the past 2 months and can say that it has neither broken nor rusted. It definitely doesn't have that really heavy, high quality feel that you can get with a garlic press from a luxury kitchen store like Williams-Sonoma, but then again you didn't pay $7.99 for that high quality press, did you? I don't think it's metal, and I am noticing that the finish is just starting to peel, but I think as long as it is properly cleaned and maintained it will last me for at least a few years. That said, as soon as it breaks I am going to replace it with a garlic press that I can dishwash. But if hand washing items isn't a big deal to you, then this is an excellent choice.

AMAZING GARLIC CRUSHER!
My old garlic crusher broke over a year ago and ever since then I have had so many come in and out of my house as they just did not perform as my old one did. The hard garlic bits would always get stuck but with this one, they rarely did. Even if they did, it comes with a very easy to use cleaner that solves the problem of spending 10 minutes trying to clean a crusher! Very worth and just an extremely well made product!

Very light but works well
Feels very light and cheaply made, but it actually works really well. For the price it’s not bad $<15. It’s some form of metal alloy. I hope no chromium as it’s from China.

Good buy
I've gone through about 3 garlic presses in the last few years and I have found them all annoying in some way or another. This one is great! Easy to use, easy to clean(don't even need the little rubber piece that comes with it). It is good quality and the right price. Just don't put it in the dishwasher, as the washing instructions say. My husband did and it turned black. But I had loved it so much, ordered another one.

Best Garlic Press
Best garlic press I have ever bought! I love the mechanism used to crush the garlic. It doesn't look to have any weak spots. My previous name brand garlic presses have broken under pressure, and this one is holding up fantastically. Highly recommend.
