Keeps people honest

I bought this solely for my medication and unfortunately I have a roommate in my house that has sticky fingers. I've been super paranoid about him taking my medication or just taking a couple as it is high risk for being stolen. I got really tired of carrying my purse around with me everywhere in my own home and having a straight up heart attack when I accidentally left it in a room where he had a chance to take it. If any of my medication is stolen I cannot function. I am confident this is the answer to my problem. If somebody finds this, they can get into it easily with a hammer. But if you have a problem with pilfering or fear of, this might be a good option. I have tested the locking mechanism and I can't get into it without the actual key. I would need a few hours to pop it open with no evidence left. I've included photos of the pins inside and the way the key has different depth of notches... So you know if someone happens to try to put the end of a pen into it to unlock (its wider than most pens anyways) it will not unlock because some of the pins aren't even pushed down, and some are halfway. If you are worried about a person being able to open it if they just buy one of these sets of keys my honest guess is to say that they are manufactured the same considering the price. I will be buying another one of these and I will test that out and update when I do. But I would assume that they are all the same keys. This is not a magic safe. If someone is intent on getting into they will. I think even if you go with the stainless steel option they can still get in (I'm sure its even more difficult with stainless steel.) It just depends on your situation. If you have a situation like mine where you know they wont take it if there is evidence, it will keep them honest. I like that this is a black bottle as well so it is hard to see instead of a bright orange medication bottle. The plastic is thick and I'm confident you would need to smash it to get it open. I noticed a review saying that the tabs didn't work and you could just twist it open when its locked if you press down hard enough... I have tested this and my theory is they either had a defective bottle or they did not place the cap on correctly. It took me a while to understand how to lock and unlock it. And you can actually put the cap on in the wrong place and also turn the key. It doesnt actually lock but the cap stays in place so you think its good. To lock and unlock it there is a line on the cap that you line up with one on the bottle. It took me a few minutes before a figure that out and I was about to be mad about it like it wasn't working... Because it is a little confusing before you get the hang of it. Because when you unlock it to open it up you twist the cap and then the lines are not together anymore. So you cant just stick the keys back in to lock it even if you didn't even remove the cap. You have to lift the cap off (because you can't twist it back) and realign it. These is perfect for my situation and I'm very happy with it

My boyfriend showed me how easily he could pull the top off of it.

I recently started sleep walking and didn't believe it until recently. I gave the bottle to my bf because I was still getting into it in my sleep. Later that day he showed me how easily he could pop the top off without the key. That night I found the bottle and ripped the top off in my sleep. I know this is a me problem I have to figure out but its very frustrating to know this bottle can still be ripped open without much force :/ well, it worked for a month or two. Onto the next product. For anyone else this would probably work especially for travel but if you have someone who REALLY wants to get into it, they will be able to.

Works!!

If you take medicine you don't want others to get, or just have small items like earrings for travel or everyday use, this is perfect!! No one is getting in this without the key. When opening and closing, try to keep key in lock. That makes it easier to open and close. Nifty little thing. It can fit an entire bottle of Tylenol at least.

This is a great product for people who have a brain

I am so sick of idiots writing these ridiculous and most of the time unfavorable and untrue reviews. I initially bought the stainless steel version then the other two varians since then. This product is amazing, I purchased it to protect my pain medication from getting stolen. Which not only means that I am having to lock and unlock it several times a day, but also keep out the worst type of person from trying to get in it. Yes the key lock is controlled by delicate ball bearings, but they are definitely durable and the system is remarkably well made. The key to utilizing this brilliantly engineered product is too be gentle and take good care of it. For example, first make sure the grooves are lined up correctly and then gently push the lid down evenly. While holding the lid down gently stick the key in the hole and gently press it down onto the ball bearings, you will feel it engage. Then smoothly turn the key all the way to the proper position and gently remove the key. Do this everytime and you have yourself a hell of an investment that will last a long time. This a legitimate review for this beautiful and well made item, and it's purpose is priceless.

Excellent locking pill container

Was a vot worried I was gonna get sone super cheap plastic container that could easily be broken open ir sonething, boy was I wrong this thing is tough now if you had time of course you could cut or sledgehammer it open but if your worried about someone taking or stealing your meds this is perfect I've thrown it on the ground as hard as I could I've thrown it up in the air as high as I could and it still works great, to some up for I think the 10$ bucks I paid it's well worth it for me to make sure my meds are super secure and no kids or nobody can get into them

Measurements are wrong in the description of this item

Not really worth the money. It doesn't hold any pill bottle so far, it's too narrow. I even measured the 2 different bottles I have and read the measurements on the description of this item and both bottles should've fit in it (not at once of course) with room to spare according to the measurements in the details of the holder. Disappointed.
