Great basking

This would of gotten a 5 star but it comes broken sometimes straight out of the packaging. Other wise it's really great it floats and has magnets to keep it in place. The aquarium has more room for the turtles to swim.

A great basking spot with little improvement needed

I already had another of this platform, as well as some smaller versions. I got this second one to add basking spot options for my 4yo sliders. The turtles always have some trouble learning how to scrabble up onto these banks, and the magnets that come with the unit don’t help much to keep it steady. I swapped my magnets for some larger neodymium magnets that work much better. I like this product- I would love to see more versions for fitting into different sides and widths of aquariums.

Has pro's and con's

The first one I ordered from Amazon came broke in half but replaced quickly. I have a baby southern painted turtle and he really seems like to like it. I'm worried about the magnet strength when he gets bigger as he's only about 1 1/2" right now. I did by the large so I did not have to purchase another has he gets bigger. He's in a 45 gallon Octagon shaped tank and fits quit well. So far so good, he can easily climb up on it and likes to bask on it. Only downfall for a big tank is it being so big is casts a very large shadow underneath it making pretty dark under it so it's hard to see him. I think I'll need to add another light to you can see him. I would recommend this right now as a baby turtle. Might update when he's bigger and see if it lasts!

READ REVIEWS FIRST!!

i was kind of stupid enough to buy the small without weighing & measuring my two yellow-bellied sliders, i'm not sure how old either of them are, because we bought them at petco and they gave no info. i would assume they are 3-4 years old. weak magnets:/ -- from the small already, i can tell for sure that these magnets are WEAK. the rock itself is realistic, but it's unrealistic enough to have such weak magnets to hold a literal animal. having nothing like gorilla glue, or the money to buy stronger magnets gives you literally no use to try and fix it. hopefully the extra weight to a medium would make it more sturdy:[ -- please don't waste your money without looking at the other reviews, and measuring & weighing your turtles. also, DO NOT PUT THE ISLAND IN THE AIR!! it is supposed to sit in the water to some extent.

Magnets are way too weak

Well, bought this item three times. First two were delivered broken and returned. Third one is nice but the magnets are a joke. There barely hold the dock through the tank glass. When my turtle tries to get on it, the dock pulls away from the glass. It’s basically functionally useless the way it is.

great product

best turtle dock without taking up space underwater. great for baby and juvenile turtles. for everyone's own sake, before you buy, measure your turtle and know their weight. don't buy just anything expecting it to hold up a heavy adult turtle, please. also, i came across a review by "sara and steve". in case, sara and steve didn't know, the dock should not be "floating" in air for your frogs. this is meant to be a dock floating on WATER for turtles, therefore the magnets are strong enough to hold the dock above water. understand before you buy.

My turtle is happy

I went with this large turtle bank because the suction cup one I've been using couldn't cut it anymore. So far I'm liking it and my turtle seems to love it. My turtle is about 6" and the bank has room for him to move around and adjust. Took about a couple of days for him to finally get the courage to climb the thing. The first couple of tries of him climbing was difficult for him but once he figured it out I noticed every time after that he knew what the trick was to get on. So far so good. The magnets seem to be holding up. I haven't noticed it (the magnet) falling off or whatever. Seems to adjust to the falling water level just fine. Also seems to hold the weight of my turtle just fine for now unlike the suction cup one I've been using where the whole thing mostly sank when my turtle got on. But as my turtle will grow bigger I'm sure I have to upgrade. But for now I'm happy and my turtle is happy as well. Buying this on Amazon was way cheaper than buying in store.

One of the best things I've bought for my turtle tank!

I love this turtle dock, but more importantly,my turtles love it! I previously kept a slope of river rocks leading up to a large rock for a basking area. This was a problem because it took up a third of the tank, and uneaten turtle food and waste would settle in the rocks. I wasn't getting my tank very clean without pulling everything out and starting over every time I changed the water. This dock solved the problem and freed up extra tank room for my turtles to swim. I couldn't be more pleased! My turtles are on it all the time, and I'm sure I will order the large one once they outgrow this one. I love the fact that it adjusts to any water level, and I can place it anywhere in my tank. Be aware that this item floats on the water, and the magnets just keep it from drifting around. You can't put it up above the level of the water and have it stay put, so it isn't suitable as a ledge for frogs or snakes. Thank you Amazon for fast shipping and the best price I could find!

Bigger & better

I had to upgrade to a 'LARGE' turtle bank since my Map Turtles / terrapins outgrew the existing one (Medium sized bank of the same). My terrapins are now 9cm in length (shell length) & I've seen both basking on the bank quite confortably together on numerous occasions; my Map Turtles are renowned for being skittish & they make a break for the water in panic as soon as I walk in the room...however, the magnets still hold the bank securely despite the sudden stampede. A good, sturdy product, floats on the water & additionally secured against glass with 4x magnets. Highly recommended.

Turtle Island

I like this a lot! I got two, one Small & one Medium for my Mudskippers, it's strong, no unsightly suckers that would need replacing after a while, held my Magnets, I do find that when I clean the Tank the Magnet can't hold the Islands weight when it's above the water level but that's not a problem as I just remove it during cleaning & they have two flat sides for the magnets so you can't just put them where you want but lucky for me the magnetic flat side corisponded with where I wanted it to go. I would highly recomend.

useless

The magnets are not strong enough when my turtle was trying to get on the island it's just fell off. It's too heavy for the magnets it needs stronger ones. I would like to send it back and get my money back but I think it just won't happen because nothing was wrong with the item just it is a very poor quality product.Waste of money.Don't buy it!!!!!!!

Good product however..

A great product which my turtles love, however, the magnets that come with the dock are not strong enough to support the dock and the turtles. Luckily I had brought the smaller dock (which has stronger magnets?) and reinforced the magnets with those. Overall, great product - needs better magnets.
