Standard Replacement Without Worry
I thought I'd save some money, so I initially ordered a cheaper "replacement" filter which turned out to be smaller and it's attachment nozzles appeared dubious at best. Returned it to Amazon and reordered this one. Of course, it fits perfectly. Just wish they were cheaper! It's probably smart to order several at a time, since this one increased in price since I replaced the old one that was purchased apx. 9 months ago.

Super simple
Signing up for Amazons subscribe and save has made changing my water filter so easy. I no longer have to remember when I need to change it I was able to set the frequency of shipment and when it arrives i know it is time to swap out filters. this is the easiest way to shop.

Always Available, Always on Time
This refrigerator filter is recommended by Whirlpool. It is not always available to buy locally, but I have it on auto-delivery and receive it just in time to change it out. The price is right, availability is great, and on-time delivery keeps the water and ice maker in good condition.

Perfect fit
This item was the recommended filter for my refrigerator so it was an easy choice to purchase. There are less expensive options however they do not filter as many minerals, etc as this item does. This filter is worth the additional money spent on it.

Expensive but needed
Our Whirlpool's replace filter came on and we let it slide for maybe 2 or 3 months because we weren't sure if it was worth replacing the filter since we don't use the water from the fridge's dispenser. We have a dedicated water cooler for that. But we did some research and found that the filter also can (depending on your fridge's design) filter the water that is used to make your ice. We use the ice maker religiously so we made the choice to replace the filter. I was so reluctant to purchase this filter because of the price. I saw there were quite a few off-brand filters listed on Amazon that said they were compatible with my fridge's water filter. A lot of them were listed as 3 filters for the price of this one filter. I did quite a bit of research and reading trying to figure out of it was better to use generic or get this one, as expensive as it is. I finally decided on this one for one reason, and one reason only. The NSF datasheet they posted for this filter is on the product listing page. You have to scroll down, but as of this posting, it's there. Absolutely none of the other filters I came across had a data sheet showing how many contaminants they remove. They usually just state things like "remove minerals" and other things. They may list things like "removes chlorine, sand, etc" Ok but, is that it? What percentage are removed? Also, I only came across maybe one or two other filters that were NSF rated, and they were all the lowest NSF rating. So they filter, but nowhere near the levels this filter claims to. I did eventually purchase this filter and swapping it out with my old one was super easy. It took maybe 30 seconds to install, but this may vary depending on where your filter is installed in your fridge. Our filter in our Whirlpool is located inside the fridge compartment towards the back. We haven't had any issues with the filter since installing as far as leaks or anything. We also haven't noticed any difference in the ice cubes as far as taste or clarity. We did test the water dispenser in the fridge both before and after changing the filter. Before we changed it, the water came out unbelievably slow. With the new filter, it comes out much faster.

Confusing numbers for re-ordering.
Got part in one day. Yeah, it fit. Was worried as part advertized says purple top. Well, the old part had no purple top.

Only the best
I have been using this filter for years. I made the mistake of trying a cheaper brand. I can tell you dont waste your money, they make the water taste like plastic and undrinkable. The one costly but well worth the money. Don't buy the 3 for $50. You will regret it. My $.02 worth.

Bit pricy
Prior to ordering this one, I ordered China-made "Denblue", W102953370A-EDR1RXD1, a value pack. I installed when return date was expired. This is a very faulty water filter hardly worth buying. It makes noise once in few minutes without using the water filter. When using it, it also makes constant noise and what is worse, the water drips like a pencil thin. This faulty product should never sell from Amazon. I am very disappointed. Does anyone check the quality of products within Amazon facilities? I wish they do.

Ok filter.
The taste of the water is not the same it used to be. I don’t know what is so different about this filter. I start to think that the tap water tastes better. But it’s drinkable!
