Good value for the price.
Just what I was looking for large enough for my 17.3 laptop computer and my 15.8 external monitor.

one major flaw.... but an awesome bag.
I will preface this by saying I travel for a living. I purchased this bag and the Everki "Advance" (EKB407NCH18) together. This "Lunar" has a $100 premium on it over the Advance. This bag offers a little more flexibility as far as its storage options and compartments. It looks very clean and under the radar. The front magnetic latched easy access pocket is better than the Advance's open front pocket style for quick items. The biggest improvement on this bag over the Advance is the laptop compartment is lined with super soft material, like the Everki Titan backpack. This is an awesome touch. It is well padded all around, very similar dimensions, possibly negligible increase in available storage on this bag over the Advance. Both of these bags will easily swallow and securely hold a 17.3" gaming laptop like Alienware R4 R5, Acer 17.3 Predator ect. I would have kept this bag over the Advance mainly because it felt constructed a little better, beefier, and I liked the easy access storage on the front, as well as additional slim storage on back. Keep in mind the Advance is no slouch, it's very robust and extremely well made. The major flaw on this bag is that the opening width for the suitcase handle is just a bit too narrow. My roller-board suitcase is a professional one (LuggageWorks) so its handle is a little more robust, 8.5" wide. The opening on this bag is too narrow to accommodate the width of the handle, by a half inch to inch. It would probably be fine for most regular carry ons. The suitcase strap on the Advance allows a little more room, and is attached directly to the back panel of the bag compartment, this makes it very stable. On the Lunar bag the suitcase handle pass through is attached to a rear pocket, which is velcro'd shut to the back of the bag. Meaning the weight of the contents of the bag, your laptop, are held in part by the velcro when its attached to the suitcase handle. The shoulder strap is not removable on this bag either. I wanted to keep the Lunar, but it won't fit the suitcase handle so I have to stick with the Advance. I like that the suitcase pass through on the Lunar is a large panel, which would keep things stable, but it's negated by being attached to the rest of the bag by a small square of velcro on the back pocket, at a minimum should be a zipper. I also like the interior lining of the laptop compartment on this bag, the materials, it is first class. With some small tweaks this bag could be perfect.

5 years later and still happy
I purchased this in April of 2012. I have used this for 5 years now on a regular basis and it still looks great with no wear-and-tear. I thought that deserved a review. PROS: - Holds up well over time - Lots of pockets of varying sizes, including for business cards. - Magnetized outer pocket that I've come to depend on for quick retrieval documents. - The dark black outer and orange inside color make a nice contrast. - Fits my 17" laptop with plenty of room to spare. On flights I'll also pack several other items along with this carryon (A kindle, various chargers, several work files & clipboard, portable mini speaker, some toiletries, some snacks, etc.) CONS: - The strap always stays hitched to one side or the other of the buckles, giving it an odd bunched look in that area. While it does not affect functionality, I think it could have been designed better aesthetically. - You have to remove the laptop completely at TSA checkpoints. Its compartment is nice and soft/smooth though. - Price. This is a good product, but there are a lot of less expensive products of lower quality that have compelling bells and whistles. They won't last 5 years in the condition this has, but not everyone is looking for a 5 year bag.

Good case but...
First off, I do like this case. However, it is not without its flaws. For the price, it is hard to love this briefcase with those few flaws. I'll just go over PROS vs CONS. PROS: Nice material: I do like the waterproof exterior and the soft innards of the laptop slot. The shoulder strap feels well manufactured and the padding is decent (not great). This thing looks great in almost every environment from my business meetings to libraries to any other place you could take your laptop. Pockets: There are a lot of pockets in this thing (different sizes). Which is good. I like pockets. Who doesn't like pockets? The front pocket is magnetized?! Padding: It is well padded. I wouldn't drop it more than 6 inches but it can handle more abuse than other cases I have looked at. CONS: Price: You can easily get a cheaper, decent laptop briefcase for a MUCH smaller price tag. You're mostly paying for the brand name. Small Interior: I have a 15.6 inch laptop. It fits but it is snug! I really have to work this case to get my laptop in and out without scratching my laptop. The zipper is massive and could scratch the integument of your laptop. This case is too small to house my power brick for my laptop. My laptop is the MSI GT60 Dominator Pro - 3k-475. Its not a huge laptop.

Dual Purpose Bag Really Does Both Jobs
I wanted something to replace my traditional, falling-apart hard side briefcase that I also could use occasionally to take my notebook with me. I am able to pack my computer glasses, HP calculator, and other items that I kept in my old briefcase, and can hold a pad folio and file sorter/organizer in the notebook compartment for all that paperwork that I still do not keep digitally. I just took a flight with it and was able to pack the HP Envy dv7-7212nr Notebook PC with its notably large battery. That's important, because a lot of bags that claim to hold 17" PCs cannot accommodate that battery configuration unless you remove the battery and pack it elsewhere. With the notebook packed, the bag would not handle the old-school pad folio, which I replaced with a junior legal pad. Packed thusly with the power supply and a mouse, it bulged a bit, but was perfectly stable on the trolley handle of my carryon spinner case and easily fit under the plane seat. NOTE ON ERGONOMICS: Great! The shoulder strap distributes the weight perfectly, making the load seem very light while the bag remains close to the body. My arthritic shoulder appreciates that!

I opted for the Everki Lunar in the hope that it would be the best solution for me
Bought to use with Gigabyte gaming laptop (Gigabyte P57X v7-CF2 17.3") which is relatively large and heavy. Bags of this type for large laptops appear to be hard to find. There are a few that are relatively cheap and debatably cheerful. And then there's the Everki Lunar, which is expensive. As the laptop it is required to carry and protect is vastly more expensive, I opted for the Everki Lunar in the hope that it would be the best solution for me. I consider the bag to be smart and relatively understated in appearance. It appears to be well made using good quality materials and decent zips. The interior is pleasantly orange and soft. The exterior reassuringly black and resilient. Construction quality provides confidence that the bag will not 'fail' in transporting the precious laptop. Certainly not for relatively short distances... and it provides an good home to the laptop when it is not in use. That said, I would not entertain 'serious commuting' (on any count); lugging a bag of this type containing a heavy gaming laptop on a recurring basis should probably be avoided. The bag may be up to it, but even if it is, I am not. For my specific circumstances I consider the bag to be good but not perfect, specifically in terms of padding. Padding is reasonable but not brilliant. The bag could benefit from having greater padding all round, but would definitely be improved by having more padding between the laptop pocket and the pocket for 'accessories' (e.g. the PSU, mouse etc. which are rather lumpy). Over filling the outer pockets tends to distort the To reassure my obsessive side, I bought a neoprene sleeve for the laptop and sandwich it between two A3 paper pads, which adds to the weight but provides a degree of resilience against the PSU pressing against the laptop, and helps absorb impact sustained to the front or rear of the bag. Thus encased, when the Everki Lunar slipped from my shoulder onto a hard floor, the laptop and bag survived without damage. To sum up; a decent, expensive bag, which may be improved with a little improvisation depending on use and personal expectation. Bought because it was the best fit I could find for my requirements. Verging on four stars but given five because I like it despite its short comings.

Expensive - but just right!
I like everything about this bag except the price which I think is way over the top. It ifeels very close in quality to my previous bag from Swissgear, except the Everki has better/stronger zips which is not quite enough to justify the double price. The old one was just a bit to small for my oversize 17,3 inch laptop, though advertised as fitting. The Everki Lunar is the perfect size for my needs, large laptop, iPad Pro, chargers, sketch book etc, without being a travel suitcase with space for sleep-over gear. I did a lot of research before buying this, and the competition within this size range is virtually non existing - which is probably the reason for the price. The price hurt a little less, due to it being excactly what I needed.

Wonderful bag!
I bought my son an Asus G750 and looked everywhere for a bag that would do the laptop justice. The huge laptop fits snugly in this bag with plenty of room for the power brick and other accessories. All this weighs around five kilos yet it's not at all uncomfortable to carry in this bag. It's wonderfully made with top quality materials and it's stylish yet discreet. If you can afford it, don't think twice.

Ottimo prodotto
