Nice to see an American made product well made and reasonably priced

Definitely well made with sturdy handle being one piece with hammer head. Price not much more than the cheaply made ones from unknown companies who are impossible to reach to resolve problems. Used it every day all day for a week splitting big logs using only the hammer, an all-metal hatchet made by the same company and also made in the U.S. along with a couple of wedges. Split everything from old oak to fresh hardwoods that don't like being split. So far, all three Estwing tools I bought are great including the mallet, the hatchet and a claw hammer purchased last year. They make quality tools. Don't buy hammers or mallets with wood handles unless you always have perfect aim. I am 76 and out of shape with an aim that isn't always the best so sometimes the handle hits before the head of the tool. Wood ones will break at that stress point or become loose. Not with the one piece steel Estwing! Quality in tools is always less expensive in the long run.

It's an Estwing

It's an Estwing. Made in America. I love the feel of this hammer when whack-a-moling something. The steel is very hard. I have yet to dent or otherwise mar the faces of the hammer. And I've been using it on various auto parts thar refused to budge. Great hammer!

Estwing quality holds up

This little guy packs a punch. Estwing makes a great hammer and the quality isn’t slipping like most brands these days. I buy Estwing so I don’t have to worry about it.

Great hammer, just needs 2 alterations to help with rope access.

Awesome hammer. Works really well. I use this hammer on the ground, but I also use it at height. Improvements: The shaft on the hammer near the head needs to be slightly wider so it doesnt fall out of a gated hammer holder on your workbelt. The hole in the handle for lanyards needs to be way wider, it also needs to be drilled properly. I bought 3 of these hammers and all of them have not been drilled properly and I have had to drill them out myself in order to get a tool lanyard through that is actually rated to catch this bad boy. I dont want any other hammer with me at height, but this one, they HAVE to make the hole bigger for me to get a proper lanyard through. When drilling the lanyard hole, I noticed that the hole itself had sharp bits of metal in 2 of them, which could have cut a lanyard if I hadnt drilled it out smoothly. I'm glad I drilled it myself as I now trust I wont risk scaring one of my ground riggers or lose my hammer if my hammer ever falls, but it could have been very different.

As a bricklayer this hammer is brilliant, comfortable to hold, and nice weight to it. 5 star, plus half price £25 for the best hammer on the market.... No brainer

Lifetime investment

Solid hammer of the one piece quality you expect from Estwing. I like the sticky rubber grips. I'll try not to loose this one. I have been using Estwing hammers for 30 years since buying one on a trip to the US. They just need the face polished on abrasive paper every now and then. They last forever or till you loose it.

No excuse required to splash out on this beauty!

Ive got a real soft spot for Estwing tools and this is no exception. The head and handle are one forged piece so no worries of launching a 3lb lump of steel into an unsuspecting face like the wooden handled examples. The balance is great and its very easy to put down some impressive force. I needed to drive a pole into the garden through tough ground and my regular hammer was taking a couple of hits, this was my excuse to buy one. 2 hefty blows managed to sink it about 2 inches below the turf! The handle feels nice and grippy and the surface finish is great, yes it may arrive with a few scuffs due to how they are manufactured but you are (hopefully) intending on hitting things with it anyway! Highly recommended!

Up to the job

I bought this club hammer because the head and shaft are one piece, so there's no danger of the head flying off, which can be a problem with some club hammers. It's proved a useful tool and I can recommend it. The vinyl grip makes it comfortable to use.
