Cute Wren House

This little house is cute, the color is nice and it looks like it is well put together. The only thing is that you cannot hang it from a branch, only on a wall or on a tree that has a nail to put in the hold on the back of it. I have yet to have a wren move in but it has stayed put and in tact through the rain and heat and hopefully this winter it will get a resident!

It is too tall

My little wrens had a hard time coming out. Had to add a piece of wood inside to bring the floor up.

The bird house is nice to look at and well made, the only thing I found out the the opening is too small or maybe the Texas Wren are too big? so I hope some little bird will find it apealling, but right now is vacant.. Nina

Wood trim missing. Poor packaging.

Not fully assembled. Some wood pieces were just missing....with nails protruding. Sort of amazed someone looked at it....said yup this is acceptable....and packaged it up. Also not true to item picturedwhich has an actual clasp to hold door closed. Recieved a bent screw in a slot. It will still work I'm sure, but look elsewhere for better quality, even at this price point.

Nice looking, well built Bird House

I'm not sure any birds are living in this yet, but it sure looks good. Seems well built and sturdy. I installed it in a spot where little wrens usually build a nest each year, so hopefully they'll use it....we'll see! Its pretty deep, so that may be a drawback.

A really cute bird house

This is the cutest little bird house that I have found, either on line or a brick and morter store. I isn't very large and looks great hanging on my tree!

Falsely advertised dimensions

Bird Box: Advertised: 22 x 16 x 11 cm Actual external: 22 x 9.5 x 9 cm Actual internal: 20 x 7.5 x 7 cm Even the latch for securing the door is different. A reasonable person would expect the dimensions stated in the advert to be for inside the bird box, which is the space for the bird, not the space outside. The advert should also have made this clear.

Not exactly as pictured or described!

The product is functionally okay - but does not match the picture as there are no "pretty" external hinges or latches as shown. Instead there is what appears to be a pin on each side (that does function perfectly well as a hinge) of the clean out door, and a simple L shaped threaded hook that you twist to fit in a slit in the door to lock it (also works perfectly well). Nor does it match the description "Measures 8.5-Inch by 6-Inch by 4.5-Inch" - it is barely 3x3 inches! Construction is of 1cm thick wood, with metal staples, and yes, there is an asphalt shingle type covering on the roof. It is hung from a hole in the back and slips over a large headed screw or nail (not included). The house is stained a nice weathered brown, and has a fancy metal plaque right below the hole. There are no vent or drainage holes, nor is there a rough interior (so baby birds can more easily climb to hole). Size: interior floor is 2 and 3/4 inches (7cm X 7cm) square; 4 and 1/2 inches (12cm) from the bottom of the hole to the floor; hole is 1 and 1/4 inches (3cm) with an additional 1 and 1/2 inches (4cm) from top of hole to peak. All in the exterior dimensions are 3 and 3/4 inches (9.5 cm) on each side; 9 inches (23cm) from top of peak to bottom of house - so it is quite small, although as a "wren" house, likely adequate. There are no vent/drainage holes, I suggest you pull out the drill and add them, just in case. It's cute, reasonably well made, but frankly, ridiculously pricey ($50+) for what you get (on sale for $15 is still too much, IMO), especially when it does not have the size/dimensions specified, the pretty hardware and must be modified with vent/drainage holes.

Wunderschöner, natürlich aussehender Nistkasten. Ein ideales Geschenk für alle Natur-, Garten- und Tierfreunde. Gewicht ist relativ leicht. Jetzt müssen die Vögel nur noch kommen!

Very disappointed with product

Very disappointed with product. I was aware that it would be small but it arrived not looking like the picture. There was no hook as shown (has little metal bar that is hard to open and close), no hinges (as shown) and the door is not aliened properly to close. There was little "antique wash "stain used to make it look rustic. Priced to high for how poorly it is made.
