Comfortable and very easy to tweak the fit.
I like it. It is lightweight, comfortable, looks good, and meets ANSI Z89.1-2014, CSA Z94.1-15, TYPE 1, Class C standards. That means: TYPE 1: Protects against impacts to the crown or top of the head. It's not designed to protect against horizontal blows to the front, back, or side of the head. Class C: Not intended, or rated, to protect the wearer from electrical shocks. So this isn't going to protect you, or satisfy safety personnel, if you're working on overhead power lines. The sizing band and sweat band are all generously wide and padded, so hours of wear with it tightened securely shouldn't leave you uncomfortable or with indentations on your forehead. There are a wealth of possible adjustments one can make inside, and I moved things from hole-to-hole and really didn’t come up with a much better fit than the factory default settings. If you're buying a vented hard hat to keep comfortable in the heat, then buy it in white, which will reflect heat from sunlight. Its like buying a cooler: If thermal performance is critical, buy it in white. Think about whether you rely on your hard hat to keep your head and hair dry in the rain, because the vents in this one will let in rain flow in. That argues for having some duct tape handy on rainy days. The full brim is good when the sun is beating down, providing a bit more shade for the ears especially. Obviously, you have to weigh that against the potential for it getting in the way -- it all depends on what you do while in the hard hat. If your hard hat is approaching its expiration date, you might want to give this one a try.

Works great!
My husband works in construction. This hat was just what he was looking for. It is lightweight and durable. It fits comfortably on his head. He works long hours and wears this hard hat almost daily.

The media could not be loaded. Ergodyne Skullerz 8968 Full Brim Vented Hard Hat is very nice as it looks and feels very nice... Once adjusted to fit. your head it feels very nice. Not the most stylish headgear but it's main purpose isn't be stylish but for protecting the user. I have seen. and. used hard hats. that were better because the materials they were made of were better and thick but considering the price, this may not be the best hard hat out there but it will be o.k. in a lot of situations. Lightweight, comfortable, easy to adjust. The white color was just what I needed to stand out as "the boss man" for an upcoming major construction project at our church. Keeping it clean might be an issue, but it's not like I'm going to be involved much beyond decision making and pointing at things! A disgruntled worker may try to whack me on top of my head with a 2X4 (it would have to be the top of my head or crown with a Type 1 class C hat) and if the hat fails to protect me I'll obviously update my review accordingly!

Looks exactly as pictured. Hard had works for multiple reasons. Lightweight, doesnt make you sweat. Hides sun. Plastic smells funny. Overall nice product.

Some things to consider when buying a hard hat // forestry application
Summary: I have worked in industrial areas since 2008, so I have had quite some time wearing hard hats. I have also used a couple of chainsaw/forestry specific ones, so I'll include those for comparison as well. I also ordered the mesh face shield and carrier listed below to use with this Ergodyne. Observations: One thing you can choose between is class C (vented) and class E (non-vented); most of mine have been non-vented, but for this one I ordered a vented one to see if it makes a difference with cooling? Recommendations: One benefit/feature of the 3M offering is a UV exposure sticker, which this Ergodyne doesn't have; it essentially indicates how much UV exposure from the sun your hard hat has absorbed, and if it is time to change (plastic will become brittle and possibly ineffective with significant sun exposure. Pros: Ergodyne is a PPE (personal protective equipment) specialty manufacturer; comfortable suspension system. Cons: Lacks UV exposure indicator. Conclusion: At $28, rating this 5-stars (cooling features, specialty manufacturer).
