Quality is key
In the line of work I do hi vis safety is needed. I purchased this bucket hate for that reason and I have no complaints. Lightweight, breathable and keeps me seen when out working early mornings and during the day.

Nice flop hat
Just a little tight. Other than that, good hat, good size brim—but not too big, feels cool, probably won’t keep absolutely 100% of the sun off of your head, but I haven’t been burned or even tanned. Heavy drawstring for windy days. Recommend.

Fits smaller than actual size
These hats fits smaller then the size says, so if you're ordering a larger size might want to get the next size up.

GREAT hat
The small/medium will fit almost anyone, unless they have a 1960s beehive hairdo or fro. This is actually the second time I bought these. Last year I bought one to use kayakfishing so powerboats see me and don't run over me, and for sun protection. The grey stripe is HIGHLY reflective at night like reflective tape. Now I bought an extra to keep in the car in case of flat tires. I wear it all the time. Whenever I wear it shopping, high School age boys and girls all want one. Keeps the sun off my face and neck while fishing, gardening etc, and the top part is vented mesh. so it's cooler than many hats. I used to wear straw hats, but they sometimes blew off my head and across the lake. The retention chin strap on these has a button to lock or release the adjusted tightness, a fantastic feature on windy days. I now have 5 Orange ones, my high school aged niece borrowed my yellow one and won't give it back, that's HER hat now. Funniest thing, I'm old and have a grey beard, but high school kids want to wear what I have ... I wear them for sun protection and safety mostly, but I'll admit, they do look good on a person too. I can't recall EVER getting compliments on a hat, but this one gets a lot of compliments from all ages. Not only do the high school kids like it, ladies in their 20s to 50s say they like it, so I'm having to exercise more speed walking to escape all the women wanting to flirt with me (just kidding, but I suspect the high school girls and boys want them because you do get noticed instead of just blending in with a crowd) I originally loaned the yellow one to my niece at a festival so I could spot her easily if we got separated in the crowd (which we did when she met up with some of her freinds) When I wear one to her high school concerts or plays, people all come up asking where to get one. Actually, I bought 4 this time, One for car, one for fishing, one for gardening, one to get borrowed....Apparently buying 2 last time wasn't enough)

sizes run large
In spite of offering good sun protection and ventilation I found the size running large. I ordered a S/M and it is to big. I can stick 2 fingers inside the hatband. I wear a medium. My wife offered to take up the excess by sewing the band tighter. My other complaint is the brim is very floppy. A brisk breeze will blow it down over your eyes. Depending on what you're doing, like towing a 787 airliner, not helpful. Maybe I just need a bigger head.

Great for work!
I'll start by explaining that I purchased this for work outside in the hot desert sun, directing traffic. I work at a school as a crossing guard, and an hour and a half a day in the hot heat of summer is very grueling, especially without a hat! I have been searching for a bright hat to wear, as recommended by our guidelines, and figured that one that blends with the vest would probably be best. This hat is very bright, which is great. It helps ensure that drivers see you, regardless of conditions outside. I'm not certain about the reflective aspects in practical use, as I work only during the daytime, but I can see light reflect off of the passive reflective strip when I hold it under a light, so I assume that it works pretty well. The chin strap is great, as it can get very windy here on a moment's notice, so it is wonderful to not worry about the cap flying off my head all the time. I can't imagine that I'd want to be chasing my hat around during rush hour! The lightness of this hat is great too, much better than some of the other shade hats I have tried. This in combination with the mesh vents on the hat make it a lot more comfortable during the hot months here. The cap has a rim just wide enough to keep the afternoon sun off of your neck, face, and scalp, which makes it a plus, as sunburns are a terrible thing to get while working. My only complaint about this hat is that the rim is very flimsy, and any wind gust over 5 MPH will bend the rim up or back, causing a bit of a problem, but nothing worth knocking a star off for, as the hat still serves its purpose quite well. The hat has lasted me for a month now with no other problems, and I hope to get even more use out of it through next year. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase, and recommended it to some of the other crossing guards as well.

It's a good hat for the summer especially when the sun is beaming. It doesn't cover the neck area so you might want a light weight towel or purchase a hat that comes with that extra protection. The breathable holes on the hat makes it great for air flow as well.

Nice and bright
This hat is prefect for visibility, nice and bright. I ordered a small/medium and it fit over my head (22 inch) nicely. It's not too tight. The very top of the hat is rain proof. This part does not breath at all, so I punched a few holes in it with a hole punch, because I use it on hot humid days and I needed air flow. Good sized brim to keep the sun off my face, and the adjustable neck straps are great. Will be buying another one in the future.

Sun protection
We bought a few for the construction crew and they appear to like them. They are light, give some cooling and sun protection. Its only been a month of use but they are standing up so far to the dirty construction environment. People keep asking us where did we get them.
