Works very well and they are a good value

I bought these to ensure that we have some type of emergency lighting in the event of power outages. I decided to try these out after having so many failures with the rechargeable LED bulbs that we had placed throughout our house. Those bulbs seem to be short lived, with either the battery not holding charge or the bulb itself going bad. We've also had a number of instances where the bulbs do not light up when power is out. These little flashlights are actually smaller than I envisioned, which makes me happy. They plug into the outlet and as long as you ensure that the switch is in the 'ON' position, they will light up when the power goes out. You can also grab one and use it to find your way around in the dark; since it is already lit up it makes it very easy to find. While the 40-lumen output is not super-bright, it is more than enough to light up a room sufficiently to see your way around in the dark and makes it very easy, safe, and convenient to find your emergency supplies, which for us include our larger and brighter flashlights, lanterns, and power banks. These say they'll last around three hours, which is very good. I placed these around the house in key areas where it will be good to have some light, like stairways, hallways outside bedrooms, living room, garage, etc. One of the best things (for me) about these is that they do not have a night light feature. I just want them to stay plugged in and only provide light if the power goes out. It's hard to find these without the night light, so these are great. After buying an initial six-pack, I liked them enough to buy an additional pack and I believe I now have nine of these around our house. I'll probably give the other three to family. The only slight negatives I can think of is that they have a very bright red light on the front that is on all the time whenever they're plugged in and have power. You can see it a mile away, which may annoy some people. I would have preferred it be less bright but can live with it. The only other thing is that one out of the 12 lights I got the case was slightly separating on the lower-right side, as in I could pull the front and back pieces open slightly. At first, I thought that maybe the screen boss inside was broken but found that the screw simply was not tightened. Upon tightening that screw, the case is completely secure. Maybe someone just missed a step during assembly, but glad it was just that and not actually broken. All things considered, I am very happy with this product. Time will tell if the batteries hold up over the years. Also, I've checked every one of these over the past few days and none of them got hot, or even warm at all. I was concerned because one reviewer stated that all of his melted but also indicated that he was using them in an ambulance? Wondering if the inverter in the vehicle could have been the cause or maybe these just don't react the same to it verses regular AC utility power. At any rate, no problems at all with ours thus far.

Good emergency light; good value.

I purchased these to provide emergency lighting around the house when the power goes out at night. They provide sufficient light to allow you to retrieve your long-term emergency lighting of choice. They will always be ready if you keep them charging and using them portable as a small flashlight is a plus. Keep in mind that these are not "night lights". If you need a night light, buy a night light. All six of mine arrived in working order and were charged to some degree. Insofar as the battery charge lasting, after one hour (fully charged) I could not notice any difference in brightness; after two hours I could notice some degradation and even after three hours there was still sufficient illumination to safely navigate around an otherwise dark house. So in that regard, they perform as advertised. Regarding the advertised ability to illuminate a target at thirty meters, well not so much from a practical standpoint. Technically if you can see the light at any distance, then yes it is illuminating the viewer. However, practically speaking, I would say that out to maybe ten meters you might be able to see well enough to safely move about. If I want to see something out at thirty meters or beyond, I have some serious flashlights for that purpose. But I bought these to move safely about a darkened house and for that they perform as advertised. One observation is that if your electrical outlets are fairly new on not used and worn, theses lights will remain upright when plugged in. I have some old, well worn outlets and the lights will kind of "lean back" because they are a loose fit and are top heavy. That is not any issue with the light, it is a socket issue. I just plugged mine in upside down and eliminated the problem, and the floor is illuminated when the power goes out. These seem to be well made for the price point and I am thinking of purchasing six more for around the house.

Awesome product

Very good quality, nice to have when the power goes out. You can set them so if they stop receiving power from the plug, they turn on. I have one in every room in my house, and am never left stumbling around in the dark looking for candles in a power outage now.

Great Product!

These are discrete and very effective. Not an outdoor or camping light but perfect for when the power goes out! Purchased several to have in each room! So effective that if/when the power goers out they can be left plugged in as they provide enough (decent) light.

Great emergency flashlite for when you lose home power

Unique shape, and powering on or off switch. I love these. Better than most of the cheesy Chinese knock offs.

Repeat purchase, they are that good

After surviving a 17 hour power outage and seeing how well these performed, I made a repeat purchase to add more rooms. As soon as the power went out at 8PM, these immediately came on and lasted to dawn, then still had enough juice to be turned back on at dusk and lasted until power was restored. Highly recommend!
