Love this toaster oven!

I give my toaster oven a workout. I have two teens and we constantly use it to warm up or cook things where the large oven doesn't make sense to do so. I also use it as a "second" oven, broiling buns for sliders that are cooking, small casserole dishes etc. I have mostly pros for this gem of a toaster oven, but a couple of "misses" too. Pros: *This is much larger than a standard toaster oven. I can fit a 9x9 dish in there and literally use it as a second oven when cooking a large dinner. *It does look beautiful, lol The french doors not only look cool, but since it's larger, if it had a pull down door, it would probably hang over the edge of the counter, so I think it's necessary. *I have been able to double-rack items. *It did have a little learning curve, my standard toaster oven, I always adjusted the temp down a bit, and the time. This one, I need to adjust the cooking temp up a bit. I think it's because there's more space to heat up, and a little heat does escape through the doors. Not much, but a little. Cons: *There's four lines scored on each knob. Only one of these scores lines up with the temp/time/baking option. I've made the mistake of lining up a scored line for time, but it wasn't the correct line. I don't usually crouch down to look at the knobs face on, generally there's just one score, but this was just a weird thing that doesn't seem necessary. *There is oddly a space on the sides for the tray or rack to slide on. The tray easily tips when putting anything in or taking it out. We had a chicken nugget disaster once with them sliding off, I was thankful it wasn't anything that had liquid. Just a minor learning curve of making sure when you put the tray in or take it out, to make sure you tilt UP a little bit so it doesn't FALL. *This one is picky...BUT :) The temp is numbered kind of strange. Most recipes call for 325, 350, 375, 400 or 450. They have 350 & 450 labeled, then some random dots in between which doesn't seem to correspond with 375 or 400, so it's a guessing game. Other than those picky things, I really do love this little oven!

Great Oven!

The only reason I'm not giving this oven a full five stars is because it gets extremely hot to the touch. I keep it on a metal baker's shelf and my bakeware two shelves higher get hot to the touch when I use it. However, if you can keep it somewhere where that isn't a concern then all should be well. This oven has baked so many meals and so many loaves of bread!! I bake a ton and almost everything from scratch so believe me when I say I put this oven to the test! I love the separate controls and I absolutely love the light on the inside so I can watch things as they bake!

Very versatile oven!

I really enjoy using this oven. So far, I've used it to cook pizzas, casseroles, roast beef, whole chicken, and 13x9 cakes. I bought a used/damaged one for 70 dollars, and there's a dent in one side which is hardly noticeable. It had never been used. I use it instead of the large range in my kitchen. It's efficient and easy to clean. There are two small annoyances, though. 1, the wire shelves are not as sturdy as I would like. However, the enameled baking pan is great. 2, the French doors swing very freely and tend to swing closed sometimes. Otherwise, I'm completely happy with my oven and recommend buying it. The size is great. Plenty large enough to bake even a turkey!

Great oven for certain purposes

For a kitchenette we added upstairs, this portable oven fills many needs. I'm going through a learning curve on what works and what doesn't, and how to combine different foods for one cooking session. The temperature is not even for baking cookies or a cake -- one side cooks faster than the other. I like being able to steam veggies while cooking something else in the oven. Due to the size of the oven, it's a bit slow to make toast. And you have to keep a close eye on what's cooking to avoid burns, especially for the top and bottom rack positions. I'm glad I bought it, and I use it several times a week.

I love this thing!

I had a little toaster over years ago, and it was as game changer in my little kitchen. This thing is behemoth, but I knew it would come in so handy in our little kitchen now, I just made room for it. I do wish, though, that the plug laid flat because of how big this thing is. I love the attachments that came with it. We have rotisseried a chicken that was small. It did a great job. I use it for toast all the time, and we cook meat in it all the time too. It’s great because it makes for an extra oven, and come the holidays, that just makes it easier to cook all that food at the same time. It also does not heat up the kitchen the way a traditional oven does, so we use this thing often in the summer time, just because it gets so warm where we live during that time of year. The two heating elements are awesome, and the ability to adjust the temperatures is really nice too. I wish the racks were stronger…I double them up on the same slot and bake cornbread in a skillet in there. There is one slot that doesn’t span the distance along the side, so you have to be intentional when pulling it out that you have ahold of it, cause the rack, or shallow baking pan will tilt completely forward, and you could get burned if you aren’t careful. All in all, though, this thing is awesome! I did make the mistake of using oven cleaner in it, and it ate the finish on the inside, so now I wipe it out (like I should have from the get-go) after every use. The oven cleaner ate the finish, of course. :(

Good Product Once You Figure It Out

Overall, I am very pleased with my Elite gourmet countertop oven. The instructions that came with the product were not very clear. However, once I figured out how to use the oven I found it to be a very good product. It looks nice on my kitchen counter, cooks evenly and quickly, and I hope it lasts a long time as these types of ovens are becoming scarce. Thank you Amazon!
