An egg cooker that saves both time and energy!

Prior to purchasing this I was used to the old method of boiling my eggs in a large kettle with a dozen eggs or so. I have been using this method of boiling eggs for a very long time. After bringing the water to a boil with the eggs in it, waiting 15 to 20 minutes for them to cook to a "hard" level, and then running cold water over them for at least five minutes to stop the cooking... I wanted to try something new. This device is amazing! No longer do I need to time my eggs, waste gallons of water, or worry about overcooking. The handy measuring container for adding the water is labelled clearly and is easy to use. Note that the manufacturer suggests using "distilled water". If you follow this direction you will have a much easier time cleaning the unit after you're done cooking. The only issues are as follows: 1. Cleaning the surface of the heating plate takes some extra effort, usually some scrubbing with a sponge. (I do not recommend using scouring pads or cleansers beyond dish detergent to clean it.) 2, When it is done cooking, the residue on the heating plate is really gross. (I assume that this residue is from the processes used in egg production, such as laying of eggs, bird "leavings", and other things that you normally don't recognize and may not want to think about.) Nuff said! I hope that this helps you as you are choosing a cooking method for your eggs. The only problem for me is that I have no reason to eat fewer of my little round buddies because I can cook more any time I'd like!

Perfect egg cooker

I have been using this egg cooker from the day 1. I even bought one for my friend as a gift . It is practical and easy to use. Just decide how you like your eggs and add water. Just keep in mind that if you leave the eggs inside they will cook a bit more so you may end up with harder eggs. Therefore I recommend taking out the eggs and putting them in water so they will be just as you like. In the beginning I was making a hole at the top of the eggs so they wouldn’t crack while cooking now I use the eggs at room temperature and they come out okay. The only issue is that you have to wipe it with a damp cloth or tissue every time you use it otherwise the color change may turn into a burnt surface. I also tried the omelette function, it came out pretty well actually. I just didn’t like the feeling of cooking in a plastic pan otherwise it is very practical.

We love this little guy

My husband and I have had no problems whatsoever with this egg cooker. We got the purple one which is super cute on our kitchen counter. I read reviews about how loud the timer is and we were prepared for the worst! However, the sound for us is not at all what others described and is quite nice on the ears lol. It’s no louder than a rice cooker or instapot. The bottom does get a little discolored especially if your water has any additives (from city water) or even minerals in well water. It’s super easy to clean up when the plate is still warm just make sure you don’t add soap as that will tarnish it. The writing on the little cup has worn off a little, but after using it often, we can guess about where the water should go. The soft boil is closer to an onsen egg. Still relatively “uncooked” but the medium level is about how I like my eggs. Whites cooked with the yolk still runny. We’ve had no problems whatsoever with eggs exploding or overcooking. Definitely recommend for anyone who doesn’t want to hassle with pulling out a pot and adding another dish to wash! Super convenient for us

Where has this been all my life?

I love this little thing! I didn't think I wanted one more cooking machine added to the kitchen counter, but this little thing is soooo handy and tiny, it's worth it. So easy to make hard boiled eggs, and you can be really precise with how hard or soft boiled you want them to be. I just wished I'd gotten this years ago!

Does what it's made to do

Cooks hard boiled eggs and soft-boiled very well. Have to add a little extra water each time to get the center of yoke cooked how I like it, and eggs are not over-cooked. Tried poaching tray; eggs get poached, but it gets messy for cleanup as bubbles start to form inside the lid. Have yet to try omelet tray. The heating plate is relatively easy to clean up with vinegar as noted in the instructions. I did have to use a soft scrub pad made for cleaning glass stovetops one time. Was probably my fault for not noticing there was a cracked egg. The trays and lid all seem to be sturdy plastic so far. The volume of the alarm for when cooking is done is loud enough to be heard effectively. The only thing I had any trouble using is the piercing tool on the bottom of the water measuring cup. For large and extra large eggs, as they could not fit up into the cup bottom very well so that the tool could pierce them. I think if the cup bottom was a bit rounder, the tool would be more effective for all sizes of eggs.

Love it!!

I loathed making hard boiled eggs because I'd always somehow break them during the cooking process but this has cooker has me eating hard boiled eggs daily! It's so simple to set up/cook and they come out perfect to your liking everytime!

The gift the keeps on giving.

I gave this to my parents. My dad love's it! He is tickled to death that how well his eggs now come out now. Of course, instead of the traditional way of hard boiling eggs. He's never going back!!

Doesn't fit extra large/jumbo eggs

I had a different brand of this that I literally wore out. This is one handy little cooker. That being said, when I needed to replace mine I picked this, thinking they were all basically the same - not so. I routinely buy jumbo or at least extra large eggs and had no problem putting 7 in my previous egg cooker. However, when I put 7 jumbo eggs in this cooker the cover would not fit down over them. There was at least a one inch gap which I figured would adversely affect cooking. I ran to Target and bought the exact same brand and model I'd had previously and it worked just fine. For the price this one is a good little egg cooker - for smaller size eggs or less than 7...just be aware of the size of your eggs. Also for the price this was not worth the hassle of returning so it went into my donation bin. I'm sure someone will appreciate it.

Perfect eggs every time

Excellent product for the price. Cooks hard boiled eggs with ease. I also added just a little bit more water than indicated on the cup as per others suggestion and they come out perfect every time. Easy clean up.
