I use these for everything!

I use these tongue depressor sticks for everything! I stir my coffee; I use it as a spoon for my oatmeal and at lunch for my Kraft Dinner. I use it to feed my dog scraps. I use it to stir soup. Over 101 uses! The only negative point is, they come in a very thin box and every time I order the box is broken and ripped and a lot of the sticks are loose in the envelope.

These are GREAT for Scooping Cat Food Out of the Can - and Here's Why They are Called "Senior"!

These are *perfect* for what I use them for - which is for scooping cat food out of the can. To be honest, I learned this from my daughter, who is a professional in the animal rescue and care field, so I guess that lots of people and facilities use these for that purpose. I get the little single serving cans of cat food (we have just one cat now), and I keep a stack of those cans and the box of these tongue depressors right by where I feed him at night, and they are *so* convenient and perfect for this! As to why they are called 'senior' tongue depressors (which I had wondered ever since seeing a box at my daughter's house), after doing some research (yeah, I need to get a life! :~) ), I believe that the reason they are called 'senior' tongue depressors is to distinguish them from 'junior' tongue depressors, which are pediatric tongue depressors (for children), and so considerably smaller (see, for example,Puritan Junior Tongue Depressor, Grape Flavored, 50/Box ).

I Probably Shouldn't Write This Review...

for if Dynarex know the multiple uses beyond tongue depressing their product has, I am not sure the price will remain as affordable in comparison to the other "ice-cream sticks" on the market. Like many other reviewers, I did not buy this for its intended purpose, I used it to build a "plant container with a lid" for my aquarium such that it contains the dark soil/substrates for the plants and separates them from the fine white sand/substrate in my aquarium, and it protects the plants from getting uprooted from my incredibly curious dojo loach. The sticks are broad enough, flexible enough, sturdy enough, and pretty standard enough for handicraft purpose. There are a few chips here and there, but they are pretty minor. The only gripe I have, the product arrives in a shamble, the sticks are scattered everywhere. While not a big deal, it really makes this buyer wonders, justly or not, if the packet contains 500 sticks in the first place as it is marketed - a doubt that can be easily eliminated from a better-packaged product.

Shipped in low quality bag which tore & boxes were open

The tongue depressors appear of appropriate quality but Amazon used 2 low quality shipping bags instead of a small box. The manufacture's boxes became damaged during the shipping process and the depressors were loose in the bags. There are small holes in the bags and some may have slipped out but I'm not counting 1,000 tongue depressors. Although these will be used in a medical setting they are not going in patient's mouths. Shame on you Amazon for such a poor shipping effort! Don't order these if you need the box intact or for plan to use them on patients. The 1 star review is for the Amazon service, not the product.

Not as advertised

The item description clearly states individually packaged, and for 23.99 that is what I was expecting. However what I received was a box of 500 bulk sticks with a price sticker on the outside for 7.95. Next time I'll buy the bulk box that sells for 6 bucks. Helps to explain how Jeff got to be the richest man eh?

We normally purchase medical products from a local company over here. This is first time we purchased this from Amazon. The quality is similar to the one we used before but price is 3 times less. I was not expecting this quality from this purchase. I strongly recommend this product and will certainly buy it again as we go through them fairly quickly.
