Good glow plug heater

The meter on top will not show anything while charging. It will only show the status of the device once it is plugged in to a glow plug. It does the job really well.

Did not work upon arrival.

I recently got my monster truck out of the garage after 10 years. I ordered this to eliminate the weak battery of my old igniter as the cause of not starting. I immediately opened, read instructions and plugged it in according to the instructions, but the light on the charger never came on. I figured it might already be charged 100%, so I tried it on a glow plug, nothing happened. I tested voltage on the charger, it was good. I tested voltage on the battery, 1.2 volts. Then I started testing continuity of the body, I found that the circuit was open somewhere. I found a poorly soldered connection up top by the meter. I soldered it back properly and it is now charging correctly. Performance of this igniter has yet to be determined, but it shouldn’t have made it past quality control with this issue.

Good ignitor that tells you if it'll work or not before you sit there trying

I had used this ignitor maybe 50-60 times between the year I've had it. It is a really good ignitor, its helped tell my friend that he needed a glow plug but also when the ignitors needed to be charged. It always worked well for me but when the weather got nice I went to use it and after a few uses the end separated from the body. It does still work but I may buy a new one to have the ease of holding it on the glow plug easier again.

Charger light does not go out

The build quality is great and the metal case feels good. The battery is easily replaceable which is a good thing if it ever starts to deteriorate. However, although the manufacturers description says the charger light goes out when it's fully charged this is not the case. I left it charging all day and it didn't go out. Given the capacity of the battery and the output of the charger it should reach full charge in about 10 hours. The charger did fully charge the battery based on the voltage but you don't know because the charger light does not go out. I initially thought this was a fault and I returned it and ordered another only to discover that the replacement has exactly the same behaviour. This may have been acceptable when the product was designed but in today's age of smart chargers I expect the charger to switch off, or at least switch to maintenance changing, once the battery is fully charged. I returned both items and instead bought the LiPo version. This is model number DYN1926 for mains charging or DYNE0201 for USB charging. I went for the USB charging version which gives me greater flexibility for where it can be charged. I am pleased to report that with this model the charger light does go out when it's fully charged and the charger switches off.

Hotter then most!

This is a very Hot glow driver and very easy to start glow engines ! do not put this on a already hot engine it might restart the engine by itself, it did on me ! please let engine cool down it will also extend life of your engine ! Be Safe out there

It does what it is purposed for!

The battery meter is a bit sketchy and the charging light does not work as described. It just stays red ALL THE TIME. but the unit comes in handy when the control box only has enough power left in it to crank the engine.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU READ THE OTHERS. They are dumb????

So I read a lot of other reviews before buying this and I’m calling them out. The reason the gauge doesn’t work by itself is because in order to have a reading, there has to be a CLOSED circuit. The gauge ONLY works while on a load (so on a glow plug). Anyways, works good for a glow igniter. I have it for multiple 1/10 HSP nitros and a few 1/8 nitro racers. Battery can come out so upgrading the battery could be in the near future. Charger works good and nothing to really complain about. Lasts multiple dozen times on my cars and is good for first-time tuning because it keeps a very high temp and won’t let you flood out the engine.

Excelente producto

Estoy muy contento el calentador de bugia funciona correctamente, lo he usado para el proceso de break in del motor de mi savage x 4.6 de bloque grande y funciona perfectamente, nisiquiera lo he tenido que cargar y sigue con bastante energia. El calentador tiene cuerpo de aluminio de color rojo, en la parte inferior tiene un indicador de condicion de bugia te dice si esta bien se pone en verde, si no finciona se pone en color rojo, en la parte superior el popote es color rojo tambien lo cual le da una vista bastante agradable. Un error es que la gente piensa que te indica la condicion de la bateria. La bateria es extraible la cual puede cambiar en cualquier momento sin necesidad de adquirir otro calentador. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. Dynamite gracias por este tipo de producto fabuloso con un excelente precio y gracias a amazon que me llego rapidamente gracias a prime. Espero les sirva esta reseña dejo dos fotografias.

Producto de buena calidad y performance

Excelente opción para encendido de bukías tipo glow-plug en aplicación de motores para aviones y autos a escala. La batería es recargable y puede sustituirse en caso que agote y cuanta con un medidor del estado de la carga de la batería una vez conectada a la bujía. Excelente herramienta para el field box de todo fanático del RC!
