Easy to install, perfectly described

I received a Drive wheelchair for my mom that needed footrests. My fingers were crossed that these did indeed fit... they fit perfectly, install so easily and work just as described.

Fantastic Deal! New design fits well, works better.

These fit my mom's Carex transport chair perfectly. But the set I received aren't the ones in the picture with the small square of rubber at the top and the silver feet. The one I am replacing looked like that. But the new Drive design with the narrow piece of metal instead of the rubber square seems to be a better design. It locks in place securely and releases more easily. This is the second time someone at the assisted living facility has broken a footrest on her chair. They also slightly bent one tab with the post so that footrest has to be lifted slightly to lock in place. I can fix that. The bottoms are not silver like the photo. They are metal, but have a black coating that provides better traction for mom's feet. They flip up easily but have enough "grab" to stay up, even over bumpy asphalt. The ones I received also have footstraps to hold mom's heels away from the wheels when we are turning tightly. Don't worry about the 18" length. The legs can be extended to this length, but arrive in the normal transport chair length. I'm thrilled that I get 2 in a set. Fantastic deal!

They are black (like the description), not chrome like the pictures

The foot rests that I received have black extensions (like the description), not chrome like the pictures. I wanted to match the ones from a Drive Chrome Sport wheelchair that have chrome extensions. The black plastic footplate on one of the originals broke (like many others here reported), so the aluminum footplate seemed like a good idea and the pictures looked just like the original ones. I should have read the description closer (and believed it instead of the pictures). They fit the Drive Chrome Sport wheelchair just fine (and actually work a little better than the original ones). I expect that the aluminum footplate will last much longer. (I might try taking the footplates off and put them on the original chrome extensions.) The price of these black ones is much, much less expensive than (1/3 the cost of) the chrome ones.

Better than expected

Honestly, BETTER than I was expecting. I am bound to my chair almost always (95%) and the legs I have are kinda crappy. I needed normal ones since mine are elevated and I was expecting these to be similar to the ones I have and I was content with that but when I got them they were so much better! They’re not as flimsy as my others and some reviews said they were but they’re not

The "footplates" I received are plastic. Not aluminum as advertised.

NOTE: I just received my order and it came with plastic footplates . NOT "Drive Medical Swing Away Footrests with Aluminum Footplates, Black" as advertised. My 94 year old father needs his wheelchair and it's not worth the hassle for me to return them and wait for a replacement, so I'm stuck with what I got. NOT HAPPY. AMENDED NOTE: I stand by my original post of not receiving what I ordered. Being fair..... accidents happen and I could have returned them. That said, I changed my review rating from one star to 4 star. Even though I am probably one of the very few who receive something other than what I ordered and paid for, these are good (plastic) footplates.

Perfect replacement!

Crazy as it may seem (or maybe not), someone stole my daughter's new Drive Medical wheelchair while we were on vacation. Long story short, the wheelchair was found, but one of the footrests was missing! I looked on Amazon for replacement and fount these. They are an exact match to the one that was stolen and fit perfectly!

Slid right on to my old piece of s*** wheelchair that I bought a couple years ago on the streets to bring my daughter and new baby home. Easy easy attachment and removal.
