Firm grip but was wider than my crutches

My crutches are made for people up to 5'10 or so, so the poles are closer together than a tall person's set of crutches. My husband had to pop the core out of the old set and put these on, which as other reviewers have said, was difficult. I can see why a rubber mallet and some soap would come in handy. He had to pop them on and then tighten them and they ended up being about 1/4" too wide or so. Tightened down the wing nuts hard to compress, and I didn't notice much of a difference. I put some Crutcheze padded wraps (total lifesaver!) on the outside and they're way more comfortable than my old set. These are nice and firm rubber, not soft cushy foam. They're hand grips. They work. That's about the long and short of it.

Tight fight, but sturdy

I'm not sure what is "bariatric" about them, but these sure are the cheapest crutch grips on Amazon (like I'm going to a store with a broken leg!) and they fit on the crutches I got from the ER. They were very difficult to slide on my crutches grips, but they did go on eventually. Rubber mallet. I was hesitant to use any kind of water or lubricant, because the whole reason I was replacing them was because the old ones started spinning around the grip bar. They are somewhat harder/firmer than the original grips, which I didn't like at first, but eventually got used to them. I think a softer pair would have quickly been leaving "crutch dust" around the house and car again. They also have a larger outside radius which I think put my hands into a better grip. Over all. Crutches suck. These grips are ok. It's really hard to be excited about anything crutch-related.

The right stuff...

I had brought grips before that turned out to foam and didn't last very long before they started to pill and shed. So this time I decided to go with rubber grips instead of foam. These are pefect. They were easy to put on and made with rubber so they are firm yet soft on the hand. When it comes time to buy another pair I will be searching for these...

Too hard to call comfortable.

These are not comfortable. They are only slightly softer than a bare crutch hand bar.

Sturdy covers

Product is as advertised. My daughter is using them to replace an old set of grip for crutches I used 6-7 years ago. Very hard to slid on to the old grips but once in place they are not moving.

Perfect for my needs

These are soft enough so you don't hurt your hands but firm enough so you get full support. The fit the old wooden handles snugly (you want that so they won't slip), so I just put a tiny bit of liquid soap on the wooden handles and they slid on easily.

Improvement over Original

These crutch handles are a huge improvement over the OEM. The OEM handles left a trail or rubber all over the house and car, and eventually had to be replaced (twice). These handles have heavy duty use on a daily basis, and only seem to get more comfortable.
