Crumbled in bath- no rainbow effect

Since I trust Dr. Talbot’s for my preschooler’s face masks, I thought I’d give this product a try. Sadly, it was a miss. I followed the directions to a T and this product crumbled just as it hit the water. No fizzing or rainbow effect whatsoever. My daughter was extremely excited & we were both let down. The bathwater had crumbled white chunks in it with a few splotches of color here and there.

The media could not be loaded. Product: Dr. Talbot's Fun Rainbow Bath Fizzies with Lavender Calming Scent, 3 Count (Pack of 1) I use bath additives every day, most often bath bombs. So, I’ve used many, many different bath bombs. These were some of the worst I’ve ever used. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but there wasn’t really anything to recommend with these. I’ve used rainbow bath bombs before, and like the multiple colors when they dissolve. That’s the distinguishing point with these types of bath bombs. Well, these just crumbled to pieces as soon as I took the plastic wrapping off. There was little fizz, just clumps of the bath bomb floating all over the tub. There were little spots of color here and there while the bits dissolved, but there wasn’t a pleasing color to the water after everything dissolved. I also couldn’t really detect the lavender scent. These bath bombs were a definite dud for me. The best thing about these were how they looked in the box.

Fun idea

The media could not be loaded. These bath bombs arrived in perfect condition and are very easy to use. They come individually wrapped, so as with many bath bombs, getting the plastic off was the most difficult part. It was less like a rainbow gliding over the water and more like a rainbow explosion in the water, but it was still fun. They fizz instantly, but they don't last too long. I tried to take a video, but my camera is a little broken so it did mute the colors a bit. When just dropped in the water, most of the colors sink straight down, but if you are holding the cloud in your hands you can move it around and stretch them out a bit. It doesn't necessarily make the water a pretty color once it is all mixed around, but then again, neither do the kids. I can't smell anything, so I don't know how strong these smell, but I was told they smell good. It did seem to leave skin nice and soft and did not leave any stains on the tub, so I am happy with these bath bombs. The rainbow of colors is a fun and unique experience. Since they are individually wrapped they would be great to add to stockings, gift baskets, Easter baskets, etc.

You're paying for the name brand

I have tried other rainbow bath fizzies and these were not my favorite. They do what they say they do, but I have found cheaper ones that last longer and have more vibrant colors.

nice idea but crumbly

The media could not be loaded. These bath bombs are very cute for kids, however they kind of just crumble and fall apart once the plastic is removed. They are very soft, which is weird for a bath bomb. The colors also aren't all that vibrant. They look like fun, but ended up not being very eventful for our kids. They prefer the bath bombs with surprises inside that stay intact longer.

Fun, slightly affordable but not mind-blowing

I am not a parent but bath time is still a thing at my house. My husband may be 43 years old, a burly 6’ tall/250lbs, but the man *LOVES* him a bath. His happy place is grabbing a dog-eared Tolkien and soaking in a tub. The more kid-like or gimmicky the bomb/fizzer, the better. A free toy or any soap that “does” something makes him as delighted and giddy as any toddler on the planet. As a strictly shower-only human who is frankly appalled by the cost of some of these bath luxuries— I can buy 2 months worth of laundry detergent for the price of one single ‘visually appealing’ bath— I was happy to see this available in Vine so that hubby can bathe in the rainbow w/o remortgaging the house. What’s the verdict then….? *PACKAGING: These arrived in pristine condition; after reading some reviews about how fragile these seemed to be, I was kinda worried they might arrive broken or crushed… but no problems. The retail box is really cute, would make an ideal stocking stuffer. *FIZZ FACTOR: So I was absent from the scene of the first rainbow explosion but hubby reports the fizzing bubbles lasted a mere few seconds, he was really disappointed. How long are these things normally supposed to fizz? I dunno, I decided not to ask. But from his reaction I assume it’s usually longer than what this offered. *VISUAL PAYOFF: High marks. He says the colors lasted awhile and were vibrant (as long as you don’t run a lot fresh water over them). The comedy for me is that he was texting me his feedback from the bath. “I know you need this info for your review,” he says. Indeed. *SCENT: “Very mild and pleasant” is all he offered here. I’ll go out on a limb and translate that this means it’s not too cloying and is a gender-neutral fragrance. I guess fans of lavender might be bummed it isn’t very intense. As this is marketed for children, I doubt ‘not enough lavender’ will be a huge complaint. *SKIN FEEL: Not much feedback. He has oily skin and isn’t very sensitive to dyes and perfumes and all the stuff that makes me itch just thinking about it. He felt clean but didn’t have much to offer in the positive or negative. *VALUE: The price point on the day we requested this was pretty good, far cheaper than the brands he usually asks me to buy. But for 3 baths I still find it a bit steep… though I’m a total Scrooge in this department; my perspective is baths aren’t for rewards or for luxuriating, they’re for daily hygiene. *WOULD WE BUY IT OUTRIGHT: Unlikely. This was a one-off novelty and my bath-obsessed spouse wasn’t especially over the moon for this one. Maybe if they’d thrown in a magical sponge or some 5 cent toy he’d have been more googly-eyed.
