Works great but...
I own a plastic one with rope, which is very sturdy but doesn't work nearly as well as this one. But I can feel that these straps will eventually tear off. The weak point is where the straps attach. Once it breaks, I will use some nylon rope and do a diy repair. Bought this for travel as it lays flat and will take up a minimum of space. Better straps would earn it five stars.

Good for large feet (like mine). Hard to put compression socks on this device.
I have used several different types of sock-assist devices. This one was priced right. BUT, as you can see in the pictures the pulled cotton thread issue. I fixed it by burning the loose edges, which is why it looks burnt on the edges. I also have issues getting my compression socks on it, which are large socks, size 13 feet, so for small-footed people, this will be an issue even with regular socks. I have tried the plastic devices and they work great but they break or crack within 6 months. I have used the device with three fingers, and they work but they get small on the foot input end after putting socks on it and I have trouble getting my big feet in them. These cotton, nylon devices seem to last 6-8 months for me, but they are cheaper than the practice ones.

It works!
Using this has made my mildly debilitated life a little easier. It works as advertised. The straps seem a little flimsy, but you learn NOT to roll the entire sock onto the unit. Instead only roll up the sock to the heal and leave the foot/toe section loose. Your foot easily slips into the sock and this tool pulls the rest over your heal so you can just pull that section up.. If you can't reach your ankle, maybe this is not the tool to use. But for me it's good.

A bit tricky
The product was delivered flat, and still quite rigid, having never been flexed or bent in its life. The first time I tried to use it, I had to ask my husband's help, as it was far too stiff to flex into the tight curve needed to slip on the sock. I ended up storing it, tightly rolled up, in a tall glass beer mug - this has encouraged it to stay curved into a usable shape. So it's easier to use now.... but I've used it about three weeks, and now I'm afraid that the straps are beginning to tear away from the gizmo. It does what it should, but I am not impressed with either ease of use or durability.

Great for wide feet
This is very easy to use. I have wide feet (4.5") and it's design works for me. I use it for my compression socks. If you use just for socks or stockings I think the straps will work ok, but with Compression Socks I'm a bit concerned as to how long the straps will hold up.

It really isn't useful for people with servere swollen feet. .
Not for people with severe swollen feet. More positive for people with bending and mobility issues. I was disappointed as it didn't meet my needs and also the price.

Works well
I have nerve damage in my feet from chemo and can't wiggle them to help get stockings or tights on. I need a stocking to be held open wide enough for go straight to the end of the stocking without catching on anything. This sock aid makes it possible.

Does not work with compression socks
I'm sure this works great for regular socks, but unfortunately I can't recommend it for compression socks. I bought it for my mom and she couldn't get the socks on the aid as they are too tight. I would have kept it for myself but with arthritis in my hands it's actually easier to just put socks on the old fashioned way. I'm very happy with Amazon customer service and their response to my concern though, hence 2 stars instead of only 1.

Simple and easy
This has made my life easier and my feet warmer. Hip arthritis makes bending to put socks on too painful but this simple product solves the problem.

great invention
I have to admit that I was somewhat skeptical about this item, but was surprisingly amazed about how welt works. Just take the time to feed the sock on properly, and the sock will pull on perfectly. Great purchase

Hard to use
This product although the claims were great...was impossible for my elderly person to manage. There is not enough torque from the arms with the handles to "slip" the sock on. Thus, the product would come flying up with the compression sock still at the toe. This was used with a light , medium and heavy compression sock. Useless and waste of money.

Doesn't look like much; works far better than I expected
Quality product. Does exactly what I needed. If you have a large foot, you won't want to put the sock aid right to the toe of your sock, you'll want to put it only as far as the heel. Mine are size 12, 'nuff said. Will buy again.
