Great for beginners
Great starter set!

True Starter Pack
After reading all the reviews and seeing the pictures I thought this might be a good way to get some nice Discraft discs at a bit of a discount. What I ended up getting was a true starter pack though. Driver was a Heat (141g), mid was a Buzzz (155g), and putter was a Challenger (175g). Driver and midrange were the X line plastic and putter was the base plastic. I ended up returning these as the driver and midrange were just too light weight for me. Buyer beware if you are hunting for a deal on discs, this is a beginner set and the disc selection is very random. I took a chance and it didn't pay off. But if you are starting out and looking for a good starter set, this is a very good option.

X line heat and buzzz and pro-d challenger.
I bought these three sets as spares for guests to try who may have never played before. The set comes with a heat and a buzz both in x-line plastic which is a step above baseline. The putter is pro d.

“Driver” was used loosely
This was supposed to come with a driver of some sort and for me I got a very understable mid range in its place. For that I feel a tad mislead but it was still a good selection of discs, and the price was great. A beginner would be better served without a driver anyway. I got a 163-164G Stratus; a very understable midrange that will hyzer flip on just about any angle. A very good beginner disc in a weight that suits a new player. A 167-168G Buzzz. A good straight-flying disc. Everyone loves and uses this disc. It seems this is always in the set which is great. A 169-170G soft Magnet. A very flexible, gummy putter I’ve liked so far. It feels good in the hand with a pretty significant bead, and a ton of grip to make sure it doesn’t get away from you. I’m glad this wasn’t lighter, as really light putters don’t make sense to me. Not bad for upshots, but it strikes me as more of a putting putter. All in all, I’d recommend for a beginner. The price was unbeatable when I got it. Under 20 bucks. These discs are all base plastic and likely won’t hold up well, but that can be said of any starter set around this price range. If you’re on the fence, buy it, you won’t do better for 3 discs!

Better plastic than you might expect
I bought this set 2 years ago because I wanted to get into disc golf. Well, I am in. And, I have bought dozens of much more spendy discs since. These are remarkably good for what you are paying. I received the X-Heat (purple), X-Buzzz 0.5 (yellow) and a Pro-D Challenger SS (green). The best thing about these beginner discs is the plastic. Unlike dx (Innova) or prime (Dynamic Discs) which have a tendency to degrade in cuts, small chunks and splinters, the X plastic wears really nicely with the outer edges holding up better than some of my Innova star discs. The X-plastic has a slight rubbery texture which I personally like (think G-Star). The Pro-D Challenger SS is wearing in more conventionally and is a great putter that I could easily justify playing with full time. These are definitely the lighter side (160-165g) which is desirable for beginning players as they will have a greater propensity to "turn-over" when thrown properly with power. That said, my X-Buzzz is back in the bag alongside a much more expensive ESP Buzzz because they feel the same, but they fly differently on the same throw. And my X-Heat after becoming "unthrowable" is developing into a nicely reliable roller. I just throw it hard like a driver and watch it crank over into the ground and continue on its way. It doesn't always roll where I want, but it always rolls. The bottom line is that two of these discs are back in the bag and the putter is definitely good enough to bag as well. FWIW, I bought the Innova set as well and I have given all those discs to friends and kids starting out. I'm keeping the Discrafts.

In-depth review of Discraft Beginner 3-Pack
I originally purchased this set for my brother when we were first getting into disc golf; it's been a while since then and we both have newer discs that fit out styles a little better, so this might be a little tricky to review. I guess, for starters, it gives the three primary discs that any player is going to need at any course: the driver, the mid-range and the putter. The driver, which was an Avenger SS, flies pretty straight when in the hands of a beginner; however, as you get better the first thing you're going to notice it that it hooks to the left a bit, so getting it to go right is going to take some work. As for the mid-range, which was a Buzzz, for a beginner this disc is designed to fit in that spot where you're too far from the basket to comfortably use a putter but too close that you will undoubtedly miss with the driver, but the first thing you're going to notice about this disc is that while it flies in a pretty straight line, the distance and direction it flies is not always where you want it to go. As you get better, you will notice that...while it flies in a pretty straight line, the distance and direction it flies is not always where you want it to go! To be honest, for a mid-range I have found that this disc is one of the finickiest that I have ever thrown, if you don't concentrate on what your wrist is doing when you throw it you will most likely find going left when you wanted it to go right; if you're not thinking about how much strength you're putting into the throw you're find the disc going nowhere or far past from where you wanted to go, which is good when you're at the starting point but not when you're about 60 feet away from the basket and there's a steep drop-off on the other side of it. The putter, which was a Magnet, truly lives up to its name. At about 20 feet, you really have to try hard to miss, because this putter won't let you - look at where you want it to go, add a gentle throw and that's all there's to it! As you get better the only difference you will find is the distance at which you can throw it and easily hit the basket gets longer; right now I've been easily hitting the basket at about 40 feet away with it, but I also find a little slow for my tastes and I've been playing with a different putter as of late. Don't let slow speed fool you, though; it may be a floater, but it floats all the way to the bank. Overall, a good starting point with exception to the mid-range, but with some good discs that get better with you.

Best hobby ever - I've been missing out until now
This starter set is absolutely perfect for a beginner. Don't even try and skip the starter discs you do need them to learn and when you finally figure out what you like and progress to different disc's you will always have a set you can use to get a friend into the sport.

Great value starter set
Great starter set. I only played a few rounds with a friends discs before deciding to get these. They seem ideal for anyone to get to grips with the sport. It makes sense to get your technique sorted with a few well chosen discs, rather than confusing yourself with too many. Much to my surprise, I managed to get my best round by far, the first time I used them! I think they are well worth buying.

Not as shown
The discs don't come packaged in the display box shown. They're just in a plastic bag. The colours we got are pale, not bright like in the picture.

They seem good to me, a person who is unqualified to have a valid opinion on frolf
I’m bad at frolf. I don’t know anything about it other than my friends drag me out to play it often enough that I needed to buy discs. I threw these things into so many rocks and trees in my failed attempts to throw them into the hole (is it a hole in frolf??? A basket??? The thing, you know? You know) and they survived.

Ok
Guess it's OK, still use the putter, but don't use the driver or mid ranged anymore. I'd suggest just buying individual discs from specialised disc golf sites
