Portable Version of Dirt Devil's Scorpion Vacuum

I have both Dirt Devil's vacuums. I like the Scorpion (AC powered) which I use in my garage where the long 15' AC cord is not an issue and where I need plenty of suction power. It delivers! But I also wanted a portable vacuum inside my house that I could use at a moment's notice anywhere. This DD Plus delivers. PROS: Easily maneuverable Good enough suction; not at the Scorpion level but about 75% Easy to empty Effective replaceable filter Plenty of battery life: ran it for 12 minutes continuously Rug cleaning attachment easy to install and powerful CONS: Flimsy Quick-Flip device tool Expensive and scarce to find replacement filters Of course I would like more battery life In summary, it does everything I need in a portable vacuum

Great sweeper

The brush got cat hair off of the rug. And the extension works great for tight little areas. Lasted fairly a long time . I reccomend this ptoduct.

Strong suction

So far I am happy with this vacuum. It accepts the F101 filters and are easy to clean or replace. The only drawback is that it doesn't come with a charging cradle like prior Dirt Devil Vacuums. To charge the vacuum, a wall transformer with a cord comes with it and the cord must be plugged into the back of the vacuum. UPDATE: After using this for about a month now, I discovered that the filter frame in the vacuum does not seal the dust from going into the motor. (See picture attached) I recommend you try to find (If you can) the Dirt Devil Extreme Power (#0914) which was so much better than this model.

Not super powerful but that can be good

This isn't some high-dollar, super powerful, long-battery-life model. At times, I wish I had a super powerful, long-battery-life model, but I have looked around at those. They cost $300. This cost less than $50. For the price, the power and battery life is respectable and the design is practical. This is a great general purpose handle-held vacuum. It isn't powerful enough to suction between keys of a keyboard, and the battery runs down on big jobs like trying to suck up wood shavings after doing a tad of home rennovation, but that puts a large demand on such a small vacuum, but it is more a convenient way to suck up wood shavings in areas not so easy to get to with a broom than it is the ideal solution for those jobs, but for day-to-day tasks of sucking up a popcorn spill and the like, it is perfect -- a very practical design point. Light weight, easy to use, fairly easy to empty and clean, fairly practical design., short battery life though so not meant for any large jobs where you may need to fill it and empty it several times on a single charge. It's not so powerful that it is going to suck up anything of value or catch something unintended in it. My main desire for this unit is I wish it had a removable battery so that a spare could be on charge in the event the battry doesn't hold up to complete a task at hand. Overall though I have used this little vacuum many many times over the past 3 years. It is still as powerful as the day I bought it, even if granted that power seems moderate but I'd say moderate to strong. It just isn't really designed for holding a bowling ball and isn't really the solution for vacuuming a keyboard or a computer chassis, but it is perfect for around the house and is even respectable as a shop vacuum, though the shop is where it could stand to have a replaceable battery.

No charging station

My old Dirt Devil had awesome wall mounted charging station. This one is laying on the floor to charge until i buy and install a shelf. Change not for the better.

Great little vacuum!

This is a good little machine. Light weight and easy to use. Sucks up the cat hair off the couch and chairs with the beater bar well. Sucks up crumbs pretty well. Doesn’t pick up dead plant leaves well due to the small hole the dirt goes into (ie, it sucks it up but then sticks to the opening; doesn’t go in) or heavier items like little pieces of gravel (but I didn’t necessarily expect it to..just experimenting ????). I really love it. I much prefer using it over the regular vacuum with the hose attachment! Battery lasts about15 mins. Suction remains the same until it dies.
