Perfect!

I love how big it is!! I can easily see it from the window, sitting by the pond. (Other statues I found were too small and got lost in the grass lol.) It was shipped quick, packaged well, and looks very realistic!

Love Toscano garden statues; a little issue with this one.

This is a review of the Design Toscano Lester The Leopard Frog Statue. I am a big fan of Toscano statues and I have them all over our yard; they're so whimsical and we get a lot of compliments on them. Saying that, this statue looks good. I am not a big fan of the colors but my husband gives it a big thumb's up and says it looks more "real." (Well, as real as a giant frog can be after all...) My only complaint about this one would be that when we got it out of the packing we noticed the leg was missing. We found the leg, but there's still a toe missing and it's not anywhere. I am not sure what happened - my husband thinks this particular Toscano statue is a little more breakable/fragile than the others we have. We did glue the leg on and its fine albeit it's missing a toe which is barely noticeable. Still, happy to have it in our garden.

Ribbit! Makes a statement in your garden

We put ours in the flower garden where he can be seen to be relaxing, or maybe he's just looking at us. Nice garden statue (but ok indoors too) make of crushed stone and resin, then carefully painted to look like the real thing. We have a number of pieces by this company and enjoy them all.

Looks real...

This garden statue looks REAL. It's quite large and my grand daughter is scared of it because it looks like a real frog. The craftsmanship, detail, and paint job are 1st rate. This sculpture is so colorful. It fits in perfect next to our Koi pond. 5 stars.

Big and beautiful

Big and beautiful. Emphasis on the word big. Check dimensions before ordering. That said, Lester is a perfect addition to my home! I added him to perch on the top of a stone column, and he looks great!

Looks plastic

Even though this frog is plaster is looks like cheap plastic. It is a big frog at 11"D x 8" W x 8.5" H. It's painted well. The face is OK. It just does not have a good look to it. The toes are very skinny and fragile looking. *TIP* I always bring my DT's inside for the winter (it's Colorado). I spray with clear waterproof poly before placing in garden for the summer and try to keep out of direct sun.

Puffy necked frog

I have gone to quite a few garden centres and stores looking for ornamental garden gnomes, frogs, rabbits etc. for my garden and I have to say this the most appealing garden frog I have seen to date. It is made from very solid materials so it will not be damaged if it gets a knock. The back of the frog is coated with a gloss finish which makes it more rain resistant and the colour will not fade as quickly as it would if it was a matt finish. The frog itself is authentic to what a frog looks like although I think it should be green and not brown. The posture which it displays is in keeping with the posture I have seen of real frogs in my garden. The eyes are very bright and appear to be alert and summing you up when you look at them which I think is an appealing design feature for anyone searching for something as life like as it is oversized. Deciding that it is such a magical ornament and not wishing to have it damaged, weathered or missed by visitors it has been given pride of place within the leaves of a large house plant in my sun room conservatory where family and friends can see him.

OK but not very nice to look at

Looking at the size of this garden ornament, I would say it's more a toad than a frog! It's absolutely massive and would probably look enormous next to some of your other ornaments that were purchased for nothing other than decorative purposes. It's also anything but cute or good looking. The puffed up throat makes it even worse. The intention probably was to make it look realistic but I would say that the manufacturer has gone a little too far in balancing the realistic with decorative. The resin is good quality; only time will tell whether the colours stay or fade but this ornament still doesn't appeal to me.

Very big frog.

Unnervingly enormous and, in truth, a bit scary. However, there is no doubt whatsoever that if you're in the market for a very big, exquisitely detailed and beautifully painted garden statue of a leopard frog, (and who, pray, is not?) Toscano Lester's your go-to man. It's very robust and the paint appears to be of good quality, and as statues tend to be put somewhere and left be, it should last a lifetime.
