Excellent Product
Diverter is all metal which is a great replacement for the plastic one that it replaced. It was just as simple to install as it is to operate. The push lever is a breeze to switch from overhead, handheld or both. With no restriction to water flow, even with both valves open. It’s a Delta so it’s back by there great customer service and a life time guarantee. I would highly recommend.

Purchasers of this item MUST READ THIS. Rotate handheld mount 180 degrees
When we received this item we almost sent it back for the same complaint that most had for it. The handheld mount did not fit. The problem was that the bigger end of the handheld mount was on the bottom (ie it needed to be rotated 180 degrees). The mount could be rotated by using the your handheld shower head as a lever and then it rotated easily. Now the mount works perfectly. Why they manufacturer it like this I do not know. The product is all steel and looks to be built well. Some clearer installation instructions on the mount would have helped a lot.

Good quality, works well
Simple to install. Easily diverts water 3 ways, as described: shower head only, handheld shower only and both sources simultaneously, simply by changing the lever positions on the device. Good quality. Solid metal body. Our pre-existing handheld shower does not seat completely in the holding slot but fits well enough to stay in place and is not a problem for us.

Just what i was looking for for upgraded master shower
I wanted to upgrade the master shower fixtures to have both a rain shower head and handheld also. After doing some research, I didn’t see anything that I liked in an existing kit. So after more research, I was able to assemble the configuration shown in the attached picture, which came close to what I wanted. These are the components that I used: - American Standard 3-inch shower arm with escutcheon - Delta Faucet 3-way Shower Arm Diverter - Vida Alegria REACH Solid Brass 18-inch High Flow Overhead Rain Shower Arm Extension - LumoSpa Rainfall Shower Head - BOPai Vacuum Suction Cup with Swivel Adjustable Shower Head Holder - Delta 5-spray H20 Kinetic Handheld Shower with Hose. All components were ordered/delivered from Amazon, except the Delta H2O Kinetic Handheld Shower which I bought from Lowes. Since I didn’t like the downward-angled look of the existing standard shower arm, I replaced it with a 3-inch straight arm, to which I connected the Delta 3-way Shower Diverter. Then I connected the Alegria REACH extension. And finally I attached the LumoSpa Rainfall Shower Head. I used a good amount of Teflon tape on the threads of each connection, and carefully threaded on each component, and tried to not overtighten each. I overtightened the shower head, and it leaked (as was noted in some reviews); but after reapplying Teflon tape, threading it back on, hand tightened it, then just tightened a little more with a wrench (and cloth to prevent scratches), no more leaks. Everything went together easily, and I liked the end result shown in the attached picture, and it gives the master shower a definite upgraded spa look and feel. The main star components that made it work, both for mechanical soundness and the look, are the 3-inch shower arm, the Delta diverter, and the Vida Alegria 18-inch extension arm. I was a little concerned about the stress that would be placed on the wall-shower arm and diverter-extension arm connections, but all the components are solidly designed and constructed. There are a number of nice rainfall shower heads which could be used as long as it’s compatible with the available amount of water pressure. Even though the Delta diverter has a slot for a handheld, I didn’t like the look of the handheld up in it. So I got the BOPai vacuum suction holder…so far it’s holding the handheld showerhead well after 3 days. I cleaned the tile with an alcohol wipe before attaching it, and will see how long it holds. There’s also a sticky pad which could be used, if needed. Since my water pressure isn’t the greatest, I chose the Lumospa Shower Head instead of a larger 12-inch rainfall head. And it works and looks great. I initially took out the water restrictor from the Lumospa Shower Head, and liked the heavy drenching that resulted. But as was noted by another reviewer, the water flow seems a little heavier than really needed, so I reinserted the water restrictor. The result is adequate water flow, but it left me wishing for a little more. So I’m still debating whether it’s worth the trouble to drill a larger hole in the water restrictor….but I’m also sometimes known to be a perfectionist. I’m also tempted to try a larger 12-inch rainfall shower head, but keep telling myself that it’s good enough as is.

Nice quality diverter, some plastic, a little pricey but lifetime warranty
SUMMARY It's a mostly high quality part. Much nicer than the $18 all plastic ones at the big box stores. The valve itself is metal, as is the nut that connects to the shower rod. The selector switch/arm is plastic, and so is the hand shower bracket. It is twice the price, and would be nice at almost $40 if the whole part was metal. -1 star on value/quality for the price. But overall it's the nicest diverter valve with hand shower support that I have found. I also have Delta fixtures so the finish is an exact match in the SS. If you don't need the hand shower support built into the valve, there is anotehr part -- the U4929 - that has the same valve without that support piece. PROS - metal construction of valve body/valve/shower arm nut - good fit for Delta hand shower mount - when properly installed, it is a firm tight fit that doesn't rotate out of position - overall better quality than the big box store off brand diverter valves that are all plastic - lifetime warranty -- call Delta if it breaks and they will send you a new one or parts to fix it. CONS - price is still for a part that still has a lot of plastic. They probably assume they will be sending a 2nd one to some fraction of the original buyers. - plastic switch/selector arm - plastic hand shower mount TIPS - Tape all 3 threaded parts with teflon tape - about 3-5 wraps. wrap clockwise so when you thread the nut onto the fitting, it doesn't unwind the teflon tape. - Hand tighten first, then use a crescent wrench (not pliers!!!) and wrap a cotton rag (like a piece of an old T-shirt) around the nut. Tighten until the valve body does not rotate. If you use pliers or any wrench with "teeth" you will mar the nut, most likely even if you wrap it. Be careful not to overtighten - go slow. If you figure out where it is fully tight, then loosen off slightly, rotate the body slightly counter clockwise and then tighten to the correct angle, it will be tight, won't leak, and will stay in place. Once correctly installed, it is very firm and won't rotate when you adjust your shower head or grab the hand shower. - Remember your Delta parts are lifetime warranty. You never need to buy repair parts or replace them if you will only call them. I suggest you keep a file with part numbers...it is very helpful when they later change finishes, etc. I have read that people had problems with the whole body turning to the right when the hand shower is in place. If this happens to you, the nut that attaches to the shower arm is not tight enough. When that nut is properly tightened, the valve body does not rotate.

Very nice diverter valve
It seems to be very precisely made. I can confirm that the internal parts are brass and of a high quality. It works very well for me after installing a second shower head. The way it work is on or off for each setting. Perfect. However if you want to regulate the flow to one or the other, this won't do the trick. It is on or off to each shower head or both.

Solid product
This is my second one now, the first one lasted for about 5 years. Before this I was buying the plastic ones and they barely lasted 1 year, if that. My last one likely broke because I was pushing the shower wand too hard into the holder; I think it will last longer now as I won't push it into the holder. This one is made of metal and is quite sturdy.
