Mostly for looks.

You know, it's alright for what it is. It's mostly all plastic, at least the bell is. I think the curved part might be a cheap aluminum. But, it's nice. They do their job and they look nice doing it. If you have kids or cats or anything that likes to tug on things, I'd look for another one, They are really easy to bend. But don't be afraid of these, they will look great.

Good for the under $10 price

A little light-weight but ultimately I decided that was good as I could install with screws and not worry about anchors. The dark nickel is a nice tone and goes well with my linen silver grey curtains. For the price I'm pleased especially for apartment living. If I was installing in a house I expected to live in for decades I would have spent more to get something more likely to last.

They look plastic (which they are), and I would've been happy to have paid more for the real thing. In the interim, this works great, and I'll likely leave it for a long while before replacing it -- because they are waiting for someone to trip or snag something on these before they just snap.

Does the job for a good price

Even with both screws in as tight as they can go, each of this has a little wobble to it. It is only noticeable when moving the drapes in and out as they stay level when not being touched. They look ok but a little plasticky up close. For the price they are a good deal.

Look fantastic (from at least a couple feet away)

The tie backs look exactly how I wanted... in poor lighting or from a few feet back. They definitely are plastic and there is a seam, but 95% of people walking by will never notice. It gives the style I wanted, if not the quality.

They look nice, but are a bit flimsy. Just need to be gentle when using them to hold back the curtains.
