Sturdy and as advertised, though can fall apart
The falling apart hazard i won't hold against it since I had the 3-part rod extended pretty far (128 of its 144 inches) and since it was mounted high up on the walls of a sunroom and holding heavy blackout curtains on grommets. After hanging the curtains I tried to open them and on the first try the grommets slid the center rod out of a side rod causing everything to come apart and fall to the floor. Good news #1: one of the finial balls came off but was still in good shape and I reattached it as good as new with Gorilla Glue gel. Good news #2: I reassembled the rod in a way that I think will stay intact. FYI: make sure the center rod is centered between the side rods so it has adequate support on each of it’s inserted ends, then put 4 heavy duty rubber bands around the assembled rod—one on each end flush with the inner edges of the outermost brackets and 2 in the middle flush with the sides of the center bracket. The rubber bands keep the rods from sliding past the brackets. Amazon sells heavy duty UV resistant black rubber bands that are not noticeable on the black rod. (Do not also put bands on the skinny rods at the junctures with the 2 fatter side rods because though this is also keeps the center rod from sliding, it is unnecessary and will make it difficult or impossible to slide the grommets along the rods.)

Outstanding Curtain Rod
I am very impressed with this curtain rod. Love that it's telescopic and can be any length that is needed. Design and color were exactly as shown in photo description. All parts and even the "sheer" curtain rod was included. End balls screwed in perfectly. No scratches or dents in rods or brackets. Very easy to install. It's light weight, yet very sturdy. Even considered not using middle support bracket, however, if I have it, why not install it? So glad to have found this curtain rod. It has made a big difference when hanging up drapes in my son's bedroom. Highly recommend this rod.

Great looking and sturdy
These rods are so sturdy and easy to use. If you’ve not purchased rods in awhile you might benefit from knowing you might not use all the pieces if you want the shorter size. It would be helpful if there were directions but rest assured it’s all there. I do prefer to use my black drywall screws instead of what comes with the rods. (That’s a given nowadays.) I think the reviews about being hard to install are referring to the cheap screws. Buy a box of drywall screws and always throw away the cheap screws. You’ll thank me later!

Looks good and an easy install
I am using this for a curtain on a sliding door that would need to cover the entire length, so I could not use the center support. As such, the rod sags about 0.5" in the center. Over about 100", that is not too noticeable. However a more rigid rod would have been preferred. I am sure it is fine with the center support used (ie curtains on each side). It took longer for me to take the existing blind fixture down (verticle blinds) that it did to install this, so the installation was fairly easy: 30-40 min.

Good luck with the finials
The rod seems sturdy enough. Mounting isn't complicated. Finial is very pretty. I am the one who puts all our things together and mounts them. But there are no holes in the end of the poles to screw the finials into. Easy as pie, said another reviewer. Just push through the plastic. I have been trying to make the first hole now for 15 minutes. I used a stilleto. Hole, but won't admit the screw. Used screwdriver. Won't admit the screw. I'm about to try a knitting needle. Ok, knitting needle worked. I hope you have one. But really, it should not be this difficult to do. The hole in the plastic should at a minimum be started for you. No, darn it. The hole in the middle should be clean. Screwing the finial in now takes a lot of pressure because it doesn't want to properly seat. Are we having fun? Great, pressure used to screw in the finial slightly warped the end. But at least now the inner pole doesn't slide out like butter on a hot griddle. I opened my size 36-72" . They make 72" with a 3" overlap in the middle. For this price I don't expect marble. I do expect to not have to go through this for a stupid piece of plastic! Loses stars for incredible annoyance. Lesson: don't annoy a customer who writes reviews.

Middle extender may not be stable
My son installed this for me and warned me to keep an eye on the middle as the extender is not secure and could slowly wiggle it's way out of place and collapse. So far so good but I am very careful when opening and closing my drapes. My son and I both agreed the price was more than fair.
