Works well once installed
The installation instructions were mostly good but it is not an easy process. The screws included had 3 break spots to match the thickness of the door. I had to use a hacksaw to get the correct length. There is a tab on the lock mechanism that needs to be trimmed to fit the thickness of the door. Figuring where to trim it was a little confusing but I figured it out and was able to break the tab 2 pairs of pliers. You have to be careful not to turn the lock with the key to keep it in phase with the deadbolt. If it is out of phase and the interior knob will only turn if the key is in the lock and or the key must be turned more than 1 revolution, then the interior part must be removed and the key turned 90 degrees after which the interior part can be reinstalled. The product works well for me, but if you are not handy with tools you may want some help installing

Great deadbolt
I purchased this deadbolt after my twenty-five year old deadbolt started acting unreliable. I feared being locked out of my own house, so I purchased this deadbolt to replace the old one. It looked exactly like the old lock, but was just slightly smaller which led to some minor alterations in my installation process. However, I was soon able to overcome the size difference and was able to install my shiny new deadbolt. Since this is the only way I have of securing my front door, I was happy to have made this purchase. I was only able to find this particular deadbolt, (which is the only kind I can use without major modification) at Amazon.

Old school, but proven tough & sturdy. (Priced well).
Of course these locks are for those of us stuck with this option. Mostly older homes. The price was good, these locks hold up pretty well. Depending on your security needs, I’d certainly consider that these are the very “cheap” way to go about. And more expensive/better built solid locks are available. For my needs this does the trick! And replaced my existing lock quite quickly and easily.

Hey there amazon shoppers Well made,strong lock,i installed them in my smaller garage door in june 2020 (2 locks) very pleased,it has the feature that you have to lock them with the key,burglar can't push the lock in the housing like the typical nightlatch Recomment this,buy it,do it,do it now

Worked perfect!
The lock broke on my Anderson patio doors and it would have been over $200 and a lot of heartache trying to replace it so I tried this out. I had to cut a piece of wood to put under the main body of the lock but it works great. It saved me a ton of money. I did not drill the hole for the outside key as I did not need to open this door from the outside. It works perfectly as a replacement or secondary lock.

Product was as advertised
It replaced an old lock and fit perfectly. I was able to keep the old Locking Cylinder so that made the installation very easy.

Junk
Got the thing fully installed, in spite of the terrible quality (the little tab the inserts into the back of the bolt snapped off with very little pressure), only to turn the key to test it out for the first time. The key wasn’t cut properly and doesn’t turn the bolt. Absolute junk, complete waste of money and time.

Solidly built
Didn’t work so well for me as I did not have a fixed wall to attach it with. But I worked it out! These are awesome locks and I recalled using them years ago. Tried and true works.

Keys are poor quality but otherwise okay
It was amazingly difficult to find this sort of external deadlatch (rather that the usual spring ones). The unit itself it okay and fine to install. The keys are very cheap quality and could snap, so probably best to get some new ones cut.

Cylinder screws don’t align, keys get stuck In the lock. No customer support available from the seller. I had to return it to Amazon. Wasted a lot of time trying to fix the issue.
