I get one of these whenever I install a new TV. BTW check clearance behind wall first...
I put one of these wherever I install a TV. The best part is it makes getting power to the TV a cinch; No need to be an electrician or snake Romex through walls. Simply cut a couple holes, drop in the included wire, hook it up, THEN plug it in. No turning off circuit breakers or risking getting shocked. Then, just drop your video and audio cables down the wall behind the TV. It's neat, safe and easy. This is a great product and comes with all the parts you'll need. Some products are single ended and require wiring to an existing outlet, so shop carefully if you look elsewhere. This is the full monty and worth the price. EDIT: I was a little wrong, It does not come with the piece of electrical wire that runs behind the wall from the top socket to the bottom unit which you hook the supplied extension cord too. So you'll need probably 3-5 feet of 14/2 NM Romex. Basically a scrap of wire. Maybe you or a friend has a piece lying around. Some hardware stores and big box stores like Home Depot sell it for 40-50 cents/foot. I'm sure other places do too. Worst case, if you can't buy it by the foot in your area, order the smallest roll you can for maybe 10 bucks or less. ONE MORE THING. I installed this on an outside, non-party wall of my row home. The clearance behind the drywall on that wall is only about 3.5 inches. This box needs a bit more than 4 inches behind the drywall. Didn't expect the tight clearance, but I was able to modify the unit to fit and still be up to code. Don't recommend doing that unless you are a good DIY'er. So checking the clearance behind the wall before you get this and cut the hole would be a good idea. If you have the space, it's a really nice package. None of my other walls is that tight, so I didn't check first. My bad, but that's not the fault of the Pro-Power kit. I got sloppy.

You have to bevel the side for the bottom outlet to fit
If you buy this, do yourself a favor and read the 3 star review by M. Knutsonon February 23, 2016 before you install. 2 highlights: - As everyone says the outlet receptacle is a pos, buy your own to use - The top outlet fits perfectly using the template. However, the bottom outlet does NOT, you will be like wtf it doesn't fit unless you shave the left side at 45 degree angle, then it will barely fit. One last note in case you are curious the top and bottom are NOT the same width. The top is about 6" the bottom is about 4".

Very nice
Of this product category, it's one of the better ones I've used. I wish it came with the romex but that stuff is easily found at any home goods store for very little, and at least then you can pick your length. The only thing I didn't like was that when I was adjusting the thing, I had to install it and remove it, and with very little effort I had one of the plastic flanges break off and fall into the stud bay. Fortunately three points of contact were enough, but that's not great.

very well put together, does everything i needed
This is a great kit and fit my needs perfectly. It is relatively shallow and install easily behind a 2x4 framed wall. The boxes are sturdy plastic and have a nice finished look when installed. There is ample room for multiple cables, i have 6 running through mine and there is room for more. I like the two outlet connector, though i must confess, i did use one with with screw in terminals rather than the one supplied. FYI, yes you need to get your own Romex wire, but that's supper simple from Lowes or HD. Overall though its well made and installed easily and after looking at many similar kits, im glad i went with this one.

Two's Company Three's a Crowd
This is my second purchase. Along with what I said earlier (second paragraph) the small bottom template is too small! BUT! Take care making the cut bigger, you can over shoot the cover plate quickly. I ended up spackling about a 1/8' seam and I don't think I even increased the opening more than 1/4". Nice to have two receptacles up top (TV & Firestick) but the spacing is tight. The power cables you attach need to be small because the space to the top of the housing is limited. Also, as I was doing the original install I couldn't imagine there would be enough room to pull any more cables thru; beyond the current HDMI, CAT6, a feeder string. The lower box is even more crowded: the provided extension cord female end is massive and "hogs" into the video pass area.

Great size and easy to install
This was very easy to install and I much prefer a kit like this where I can put regular romex into the wall. I didn't like the receptacle this kit came with, the receptacle has no side terminals and has to be back wired. I used a regular decora receptacle instead.

Missing and wrong parts
Looks good after install, but the supplied power receptacle does not have screw connections and the plug-in holes are too small for 12 awg romax so I had to buy another receptacle. Neither of the boxes fit in the holes cut to the exact sizes of the patterns, but with a little hole modification they fit. Other than that they are ok.

A must for a low profile wall display installation
I have installed many displays in the past and I have used the old version of this recessed kit. I agree with others about the opening for the AV cables that is rather small. I highly recommend using the new Monoprice - RedMere - Ultra Slim Series High Performance HDMI Cable's. They are very small and very easy to route on a low profile wall mount installation. I was able to get the display within an 1/2" from the wall. Perfect! Just study your kit location and double check. Check for any clearance issues before cutting into your wall. Remember where your studs are. I will be using this kit, HDMI cable and low profile mount for here on out on new installs. If you are after that Low Profile look, I Highly Recommend this kit!

Average
I can honestly say I read a lot of reviews prior to purchasing this item. Read **** fine print ** this item does does come with a (romex cable.. black/white/ground) simple fix by going to your local hardware store to buy, approx $3-$5 for 6ft) The template provided in the box is a joke, I carefully cut out the template and tried to install both the top and bottom plate and it didn’t fit, had to do some additional cuts to the drywall. Overal it took me approx 2/3 hrs to install Happy with the look of the hidden cables. Good luck, from Toronto m, Canada

Favorite thus far
This kit worked awesome. Pros: - Comes with very well made instructions and a very nice template tool. I cut the template out (roughly) and then used a pin to mark the corners, took the paper off the wall then drew a line from hole to hole. Next I cut along the pencil mark and it made a perfectly sized hole. This trick allowed me to also level it. - Hides the cables in a professional looking wall box. - Does not come with an in-wall power cable - This forces people to get the right cable for in the wall. This is important for safety and electrical code requirements. Other kits include a pre-terminated non-approved cable, and this one is far far far more professional and allows me to cut my own length of cable (romex 14-2 in my area). Cons: - Outlet uses the new "push" connectors. Not a con, just a personal preference. - Had to cut drywall away a little more (on an angle) to get the box in the wall once the power connection was installed.

Works. Looks great
Item worked as intended. Easy to install. Back of plugs are covered so would meet code. You just need to supply your own 14/2 wiring 12/2 if it’s all you have. Bottom portion was a tight fit but was able to get it in by rounding outer edge of drywall.

Horrible fit.
So....the top installation was difficult...the cutting template is a bit too small for the top receptacle..but a little filing helped... The bottom is a nightmare..it simply will not fit...if you see the pictures I've attached...I'm not sure how it could ever...maybe I have thick drywall..but as you can see...there is no way this will fit...not sure what to do now...I'm thinking of buying standard double outlet sized recepticles to fill this mess up. Do they even try these things out?

Great Product. Installed in 20 minutes
It’s a great product! It’s very easy to install. It would have been great if it came with the Electrical Building Wire to connect the 2 Out lets which I had to buy separately. Also, make sure to have a dry wall saw and wire detector handy to make installation faster.
