Very odd smell / residue needs hand washing

all four of the carboys I ordered has a very odd black oily substance around them. Had to hand wash all of them and the smell has seemed to go away. Using these just for water due to not wanting plastic. No off taste far better than plastic just don't know why it had that odd smell right out of the gate. Other than that very very sturdy thick glass.

I have bought 3 of these

They are strong, and heavy. When filled they're the maximum size I'm comfortable lifting from floor to table regularly. Made a few wines with them and they performed well. The neck is narrow so large fruit pieces should be taken out before using it to ferment anything. They are a little expensive but should last a lifetime as long as you don't drop them from a height, so it's worth it.

Great durable fermentation vessels.

These are fantastic fermentation vessels. The mouth is the size of a one gallon carboy so there are no special plugs for your airlocks. They have roughly the same footprint as a one gallon carboy but taller and the glass is much more robust. They are not light and easy to shake for mixing, so I bought a mixing tool that attaches to a cordless drill. Best of luck brewing! I hope this helps!

it looks cool on my living room floor with clear water in ...

i git this to store RO water for my aquariums. it's a little sloppy to try and pour quickly as the bottle neck burps to get air but that was my mistake in choosing a bottle without a wider mouth. it looks cool on my living room floor with clear water in it; way better than 5 gallon spackle pails!

Say goodbye to the plastic!

We are using stick charcoal filters with this jug and I’ll be damned if another plastic water bottle makes its way into our lives. Our guests are always intrigued that this can be done. It’s a beautiful item that have saved us time and money and ultimately our health.

Like all bottles, cleaning is a chore. I like using 2+ three gallon bottles in place of six gallon ones. Easier to handle & clean. Same results

An ok standard product. Too pricey now.

One cracked and broke that I ordered within a few weeks. The others have been sturdy. Not too good given the $10 price increase since my first order. At 42.00 i will surely look elsewhere.

Nice thick glass
