Difficult to adjust. Very pretty though.
This is a terrific looking belt. The nylon web is silky and more refined than most tactical belts and the buckle is shiny artwork. That said, it's a pain to get adjusted and there is no free-play if you eat a big lunch. By that I mean once it's adjusted it is not easy to loosen. The adjustment mechanism on this belt is like that of an airplane only worse. The nylon web goes through the buckle and is held fairly tight by that mechanism. The loose end then feeds back to a second little buckle that slides along the back of the belt to take up the slack. That mechanism has to be moved first to allow slack or second to take up slack. Since that mechanism is somewhere between the loops of your pants you can't adjust it while wearing the belt. You have to adjust this belt to fit your waist with it in free space, then feed it through your pants loops. If you find it's too tight or too loose you'll have to remove it most of the way to make the strap available for adjusting. I have a 34" waist and there's about a foot of excess that is between the main buckle and the pickup buckle. I like the soft mesh and the shiny buckle but I can't stand the adjustment mechanism. I find that throughout the day I may need to tighten my belt a click or loosen it a click. Ratchet belts are great for this flexibility but most tacticals aren't. I usually pick up the rear end of my truck with tactical belts but this belt gets a pass for not claiming to be a tactical belt of any stregth. The buckle clicks like a seatbelt but released by pressing in on the shiny rectangle. I keep forgetting that and try to pry or find a button. This is a sleek belt and there are no catches, buttons or places to pry. It's definitely stylish.

A gorgeous belt that is permanently ill-fitting
I once lived a block west of Damen in Chicago, so I wanted to give these a great rating, but while the belt is gorgeous and is made of first rate materials, it suffers from a fatal flaw that makes wearing it difficult. The belt itself is made of gorgeous, brushed nylon and just looks beautiful, but the hunk of metal that you move to change the length of the belt is so large that it won't easily move under the belt loop. So it is almost impossible to change the fit of the belt. So after a big meal, if I want to loosen my belt a bit, I can't. I either have to snap it shut or undo it entirely. I have several other web belts, and the only other one that I can't easily adjust is another one by Damen and Hastings. So what you have is a gorgeous belt that is extremely impractical to wear. That said, if Damen and Hastings has a differently designed belt, it could well be a winner.

Not as described or illustrated.
One of the things that I did before requesting the D+H Military Style belt was look at the description in the middle of the listing. I was not sure about how well a plastic clip would work in a belt, but decided to give it a try. The listing described a silver finish clip buckle – this looked (to me, at least) as if it was one where you lift one end of the buckle to release the belt. In the distant past, I’ve had belts like this. This belt is considerably different – even the sparse instructions that came with the belt were WRONG, instructing the user to press on a part of the buckle to release the belt. Instead, this belt has two pieces – a tab on one end of the belt snaps into an opening on the other side. There’s no buckle, per se. And the ‘buckle’ is BLACK, not chrome. The woven material feels very solid – I suspect that, if I wanted to add a hook to each end, I’d be able to pick up a heavy weight before this material failed, but it’s still okay for a belt. I’m disappointed to see an incorrect listing and illustration – at the very least, the seller would provide correct information. I’m not sure about this being worth the price – and, even though the plastic ‘buckle’ feels pretty solid, I worry about it cracking or breaking or, at least, starting to look less attractive than it does today, after a short amount of time. I’ve removed a star because of the issues with an incorrect description.

Decent belt, difficult plastic buckle
This is a nice belt, a bit simple. It looks nice on and it fits as I expected although I couldn't find a size chart, I have a 35in waist. The only problem I've had is with the plastic buckle. As soon as I got this, I couldn't get it unbuckled and couldn't figure it out. I had to ask my husband for help, and finally with some strength he got it undone. It's easier to use now but I have a feeling it will end up breaking. I probably wouldn't pick this out again.

Nice Looking
This belt came in the mail and my son immediately put it on and tried it out. It didn't take long for him to come back with some thoughts on problems with this belt. First the Positive: The nylon is nice and thick and sturdy. this belt portion (the nylon portion) will last a very long time without falling apart. When you get this an open it, it looks like a nice sleek looking belt. It looks nice on. Second the Negative: The adjustment is difficult. It takes some working on this to get it adjusted right. For my son that meant almost completely taking the belt off, adjusting it, and then putting it back on. I imagine (?) that this was done with the idea that once your belt is adjusted you probably wont' continue to adjust it every day. The buckle is plastic. It says that in the instructions but now that we are putting it into use, there is a doubt in my son's head that it may not last. One of the reasons he has that concern is that he constantly rubs up against counters etc at belt level and the belt may get a bit of banging around. We will see and update this after some time if needed.
