Boppy is trash; buy this
I rarely write reviews but I'll write one for this. My lactation doctor used this at her office and I instantly fell in love. Breastfeeding can be hard. It's particularly tough with a newborn. Their tiny mouths make it difficult to get a good latch, which results in discomfort for mom and poor feeding habits for baby. Having a good support pillow is crucial. The boppy seems to be everywhere, but this pillow? It works 1000x better. Its flat foam surface means baby isn't rolling off, the shape of the pillow and buckle provide support to both mom and baby, and overall it just helps you get a good latch. I tried the boppy once and then ordered two of these. I ordered a third for my sister, who's on baby #2 and had never used one. She loved it. I disagree with the reviewer who said the nylon cover is uncomfortable, by the way. I have this one and another covered with the cloth fabric. They both are comfortable. This is better, though, because the cover doesn't need to be washed when baby spits up or you leak or, heaven forbid, a diaper leaks. You just wipe it down and you're done. I ended up scotchguarding the other pillow to keep stains from soaking into the foam. If price is an issue, use Amazon warehouse to buy a returned one, but I recommend this model over the others for ease of cleaning.

Works but not as good as older version
Had older version with higher back and more sturdy waterproof cover. Part stitching came apart within could months. Still useable. Would buy again as super helpful for breastfeeding, but sad they had to make some changes to a great product. I would recommend putting receiving blanket on top as sometimes material feels cold on skin.

Highly recommended even for single-family use
I won't review the basic My Brest Friend product here, because there are tons of reviews elsewhere (just see any of the basic models). (But yes, for what it's worth, I heartily recommend the Brest Friend over the Boppy - I bought both and used the Brest Friend exclusively, at least for the first 4-5 months when baby was small. After that the Boppy worked just fine and I preferred it as it was easier to take on & off with one hand.) If you're reading this, you're probably wondering if it's worth buying the "Professional" model over the regular model. It seems like the "Professional" model is marketed primarily to hospitals and lactation consultants, but I think it's a must have for home use. I originally got one of the regular Breast Friend models, with the 100% cotton cover, and my little guy promptly pooped on it... and milk was also dripping onto it fairly frequently. Although the cotton cover is washable, the pillow insert itself is only supposed to be spot cleaned .. which didn't feel very hygienic or durable. And for some unknown reason, the manufacturer does not make a waterproof liner like Boppy does. So, I bought this professional model - it may not have a cute design on the cover, and yes the top is plastic/vinyl so not super soft, but it is much more practical. I put a burp cloth over the top so my little guy primarily makes contact with that, and if poop or milk gets on it I can just wash it and easily wipe the blue cover underneath clean. I'm surprised more moms don't buy this one. Highly recommended! EDIT: After 5 months of use, I still highly recommend this pillow. The only downside I'd add is that the material is not breathable. If I don't put a cloth layer between my baby and the pillow, his head/body get sweaty and start sticking to the pillow. Probably not too comfortable for him. So I just make sure to always put a layer in between. The Aden + Anais burp cloths are the perfect size/shape (crescent-shaped) and work great.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PILLOW ENTIRELY, I STARTED TO HAVE PAIN ON MY SHOULDERS AND BACK BECAUSE OF POSTURAL PROBLEMS WHILE BREASTFEEDING AND THIS HELPED ME A LOT. I FIRST TRIED THE BOPPY PILLOW FOR FEW WEEKS BUT AFTER MY BABY GOT BIGGER IT DIDNT WORK AS GOOD AS THIS ONE, I THINK THIS VERSION OF THE BRESTFRIEND "THE PROFESSIONAL PILLOW IN BLUE" IS THE BEST BECAUSE YOU CAN WIPE IT EASILY IF THE BABY SPITS FOR EXAMPLE. THIS PILLOW WAS ACTUALLY THE ONE I BORROWED AT THE HOSPITAL WHEN MY BABY WAS BORN. I TAKE IT WITH ME EVERY PLACE I GO, EVEN I HAVE USED IT IN THE PLANE WHILE TRAVELING AND HAVE CHANGED MY BABY'S DIAPER THERE, USING IT AS A CHANGING PAD WHILE BEING IN THE SEAT, I THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM TO TRY TO CHANGE HIM AT THE BATHROOM IN THE PLANE SINCE THEY DONT HAVE CHANGING STATION, FORTUNATELY MY BABY JUST PEE AND WAS NOT MESSY THING WHILE TRAVELING, AND I JUST HAD TO WIPE IT WITH A BABY WIPE (YOU CAN USE ALSO SANITARY HANDS GEL AND WIPE IT).SOMETIMES I HAAVE USED IT TO SIT MY BABY THERE WHILE I AM SITTING DURING MASS OR LONG TRIPS IN THE PLANE, AND IS EASIER WHEN IT IS TIME TO FEED HIM. AS A MOM AND A DOCTOR A RECOMMENDED THIS VERSION OF "MY BRESTFRIEND" 100%. IT HAS THE RAISING "BUMPS" TO HOLD THE HEAND AND THE LOWER BODY OF THE BABY AS THE OTHER VERSION, THE ONLY THING THAT IT DOESNT HAVE IS THE POCKET BUT IT IS REALLY NOT A PROBLEM, IT IS BETTER TO HAVE THIS KIND OF COVER THAT WIPES EASILY AND IS KIND OF WATERPROOF, PLUS IS MORE HIGIENIC. I WISH THIS TYPE OF SLIPCOVER MADE OF VYNIL WOULD COME IN MORE COLORS TO MATCH CLOTHES AND NURSING COVERS BETTER LIKE WHITE, ECRU AND BLACK.

RASH WARNING!!!⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
I got it before the birth and didn’t use it a lot until two days ago. Because my baby is getting big I began using it every feed two days ago. After a day a horrible rash appeared on my skin where it touched the pillow. Same as my 1 month old!!!! My poor boy got rash all over his cheeks and the side parts of his legs. The rash is very itchy. Highly doubt this seller. If you really want one, get it from ToyRus.

Design is good and have good support to the back but started to see rashes on the skin after using for 1 week. Extra layer of clothes were used to cover the product and still rashes and itching started. Don’t buy this product. I am returning this after 2 weeks

Convenient and easy to clean
Great support for the baby when feeding or just cuddling and you need free hands. Easy to wash casing, happy that it's water proof, no worries about milk getting all over the pillow. Saves your back and arms from excess strain.

The material is not soft enough
The material is not very comfortable for my baby to lie on. Too hard not soft enough. But it does support well when breastfeed. Only use it when going outside, not everyday choice.
