My hack to save butter!

I have started adding multiple layers of tinfoil to the bottom until it is just below the roller. Saves a lot of butter! I now only use one stick. It works fantastic when the butter reaches the wheel. The small holes pick up lots of butter. It sits on my flattop perfectly and does a great job keeping the butter melted and ready to go.

A time-saver for production

Why this product: anyone who has eaten buttered, toasted hamburger and hotdog buns knows that they make burgers and dogs even more delicious! A friend who runs a restaurant showed me this product and I thought I needed it for our big summer BBQs. After trying it out several times, I came to these conclusions: In order to be effective, I need to load it to start with at least half a pound of butter; I would only use this when I have to butter more than about 20 buns (less than that and I just prefer to stick to a butter spatula for softened or a basting brush for liquid butter); it is designed to only work when the butter is melted and there is plenty of butter in it, so either keep it near a heat source, or melt your butter in a separate pot; be careful when picking it up as the metal may be hot; the vessel design feels and looks very modern like other Cuisineart products on top, but be careful of the stand part below - the edges of the feet are sharp and seem less refined. Cleaning: this is not very convenient to clean and it’s hard not to waste some butter - unless you have a plan to conserve the butter by pouring it out to save while it’s still in liquid form. Remove as much butter as possible before cleaning in the sink with hot, soapy water and a soft brush, or running it through the dishwasher. Who is this for: this product is not really for most home cooks or backyard BBQers; it is designed for people who make and serve a lot of burgers and/or dogs and have time to prep.

A tiny bit deep for light use.

This is very well made and functions exactly as it should. My smallest issue is that there's a bit more gap between the roller and the bottom than I'd like. This only matters if you're using less than a whole stick of butter ex. a half stick for a smaller meal. The roller didn't reach the butter. Ended up using a brush so still made for a good melting tub. No doubt that more butter and this will work great.

Butters Everything!

I am a REALTOR® and I gave this as a fun gift to the new bar and grill owner. She'd never seen one but fell in love with it on first use. Time saving in the kitchen when you're buttering up a bunch of buns or bread for toasting on the griddle.

What could be easier?

Drop in tablespoon size pieces of butter and set the butter wheel on the grill. Once the butter melts you are good to go. Makes buttering buns or sandwich bread a snap.

Desperdicia mucha mantequilla

El producto es muy util y funciona increible cuando haces una gran cantidad de hamburguesas. La mantequilla se mantiene liquida y no se quema, los materiales son muy buenos. Pero hay una gran porcion del recipiente que no alcanza el rodillo, esto te obliga a usar mas mantequilla y al final queda como desperdicio. La unica solucion es quitar el rodillo y usar una brocha para aprovechar lo que queda en el fondo, que es mucho.

Great but fell apart

Whilst this was great and helped save my restaurant $ in food costs, it fell apart within a week. Saved $ by only putting the smallest amount of butter needed, rather than my cooks using a load of butter per burger. I would recommend something like this for Exec Chefs or Kitchen Managers looking to keep FC% down.

Roller not close enough to bottom

nice butter roller but i dont understand why the roller is so far off the bottom...makes you use too much butter and wastes whats left at the end

Easy peazy

Like this product. Used for hunt camp. One member never washes his hands but likes to make and butter the toast. ???? not gonna happen.

Works great it sits on the flat top.. butter doesn't burn, coats evenly.
