Fits in place but had to use fabric glue to keep it in place and for a 40lbs vest not nearly enough padding the vest itself needs to be wider to provide enough area to spread the weight around

Needs more padding in the shoulder pads. Fits well on the Cross 101 weight vest.
The Cross 101 shoulder pads match my Cross 101 camouflage weight vest. Upon receiving the shoulder pads, I could tell that the material was similar and very rough on the bare skin. So far I am wearing a workout shirt that is wide enough to protect my shoulders from the material itself. To begin with the pads were flat and stiff, which took some effort to wrap around the shoulder straps. These are wide enough that they cover the top of my shoulder with excess to the front and back of my shoulder. I do like the fact that these shoulder straps have a large square velcro patch that keeps the pads from falling off during a run/walk. One concern and disappointment for me which is why the pads were docked one point was the thickness of the padding itself. There is not much padding in the center where it sits on my shoulders. I may have to find and add some additional padding of my own in between the shoulder pads and the shoulder strap. If the Cross101 shoulder pads are upgraded, improved and additional padding is added into the straps I would mostly likely see an increase in comfort during workouts and the rating would be increased to 5/5. Overall it does reduce the strain on my shoulders, but would love to see more padding within the shoulder pads.

Works great with as is, even better with extra gel pad
Works well even on another brand (X-Vest) weight vest. For extra comfort, underneath I wear a gel pad for hot/cold pain relief at room temperature. Before my collar bones were hurting. I bought these at the same time I bought the cross101 40lb vest. I feel the design is fine and does add padding and reduce shoulder strain, but I'm a bigger guy at 240 and the problem for me is that when these pads are wrapped around the vest shoulder straps it makes the neck hole on the vest even tighter thus causing a significant amount of rubbing and irritation on my neck. In my opinion either these need to be sown into the underside of the vest or the neck hole of the vest needs to be larger for a guy my size. Overall though these do provide more padding which meets their intended purpose.

Do the job...I just didn't need them.
tried them on. Could see the value that they would have but the vest didn't bother my shoulders to much so I returned them. Used vest for Murph and was worried I would regret returning the shoulder pads but I didn't. Found vest comfortable enough...

It helps by making the straps feel wider but the material is so rough that it can cause some chafing if it rubs against exposed neck skin
