GORGEOUS!! But buyer beware!!!

What a gorgeous piece of kitchenware I am so in love! Perfect for so many things, especially bread baking! I also own a 3 qt round one by Crock Pot they are really nice with wide bottoms and flat sides for maximum cooking surface area. The lid is nice and heavy-duty, well fitted and features basting spikes as well. Unfortunately I, like so many others on here was originally sent a USED and DAMAGED Dutch oven. The box was in shambles and the enamel had multiple chips in it. These chipped areas will be prone to rusting and I was especially unhappy to have been clearly duped by Amazon claiming this product was "new". I of course reported the damage and requested a replacement. The new replacement oven is pristine and came in a minimally damaged box but still new in package at least. The price was great but you can't sell chipped things and call them new. But super happy with the replacement and I will enjoy this piece for decades to come :)

The absolute best Dutch Oven we own

We have 4 different types of Dutch ovens - including a $400 12 quart model. Sometimes round Dutch Ovens are limited in the amount of things you can put around the meat in the middle. So we decided to try this oval shaped Dutch Oven. Our commercial stove has a center burner that is long and wide, which fit perfectly under this Dutch Oven. We tried it for the first time today, making a British Guinness Stew & Dumplings and it performed perfectly. I was expecting it to be hard to clean because of the amount of floured beef we fried, but it was clean in two minutes! The heat distribution with the cast iron is top-notch. We purchased the Blue color and it is gorgeous - looks great on our kitchen shelves. Be warned it is heavy, but what would you expect from cast iron. I would give this Dutch Oven 6 stars if I could, as it was perfect in every way - beautiful, cooks perfectly and easy to clean. Crock Pot outdid themselves when they made this. Definitely recommend...

Great find!

We love this oval dutch oven. We bought the dark blue to go with the theme in our kitchen. It's a good size for a big pot of beef stew, a pork or beef roast with veggies etc. We read the instructions on care & use to make sure it looks good for a long tine. It's a unique size for a Dutch oven and we are glad we chose this size and brand. If you're thinking of a kitchen gift idea, consider this dutch oven - lots of nice color choices, too.

Love the versatility!

It arrived with a small chip in the lip of the pot, but, I'm hoping it will not matter. I love using a Dutch oven! Going from stovetop to oven is such a great feature, I can't believe I got along without one all these years! This one is nice looking, fairly easy to clean (though it is heavy & you have to be careful not to bang it on the sink), it does stain though if you use turmeric or something like that, so wash it right away. If you soak it, still 1st scrub w/a nylon brush to get the colored residue edge off or it will be harder to get off later. Had to use a little bleach on mine, like the instructions say. I use mine for almost everything. Sometimes I get my husband or daughter to lift it for me if it's very full because it's somewhat heavy & I've got some joint issues. I'd still but it though!

Bought as a gift

Bought as a gift for my mom and she loves it!! Only thing is it's super heavy so can be challenging to take out the oven when its hot with food.

Works well

This is my first dutch oven, I was very excited to try out cooking a variety of dishes with it. I had just graduated university and am a hobby cook. I wanted to buy a high end dutch oven but it simply was out of the question as the ones I coveted were around $450CAD. This does everything I could have wanted. I have no complaints. 4/5 on easy to clean as the white interior will hold colour. I have made tomato sauces, a variety of stocks, braised, and roasted a variety of items, some leave a little colour in the dish, some do not, all have faded after continued use. Love it, got my parents one.

Not perfect but good value.

Enjoying using the pot, cooks well with good heat distribution. Downside is the ceramic coating chips easily and some minor pitting and staining in the interior after a month. Replaced original one purchased and seeing the same issues, seems to be a consistent problem. You get what you pay for, decent pot but not a star.

Tercer lugar en ATK pero

Según America's Test Kitchen quedó en el tercer lugar en sus pruebas (aunque ellos probaron las redondas y yo la elegí ovalada). Pero tiene más puntos en durabilidad que su número dos y el número uno el Le Creuset. La diferencia es el espacio en el fondo para poder sofreír tandas de carne por ejemplo. Yo prefiero que dure más el esmalte, la verdad es que es muy bonita y ya hemos cocinado con ella, funciona perfectamente, se lava facilísimo. Estamos encantados. El precio no se puede comparar con la marca del primer lugar pero su funcionamiento es equivalente. Así que fue una excelente compra. Ya veremos en unos 5 años.
