Good tool - easy to carry - everything except a flat head
I would swap one of the less-used hex wrenches for a flat head screwdriver. Otherwise, this is perfect for a compact, sturdy bike tool.

Small and Purposeful
After I lost my last multi-tool I got to thinking that I don't need or use most functions on larger multi-tools (at least not when riding). And the big bulky ones are just extra weight and space along the ride. I like to throw a multi-tool in my jersey pocket or bike bag for those random little mechanical issues / adjustments. I generally don't use multi-tools for any bike maintenance at home, but in a pinch I feel I could do most anything on my bikes with this tool. Come to think of it I believe I could strip down and rebuild a bike with this little guy (okay, maybe not; no chain whip, cassette lockring tool, bottom bracket tool, pedal wrench, etc), but my point is that you don't need a 19-function tool for most bike maintenance -- especially out on the road. I feel the outer part (body?) of this tool is a bit much -- far bigger and stronger than it needs to be. I think it's the same pieces that Crank Brothers uses on larger multi-function tools and that they just throw more tools in the middle for those. I'd like to see this redesigned just for the 5-function so it doesn't feel so disproportionate, but overall that's just a minor gripe.

Best mini-tool to slip in your pocket for a ride
Note, this will *not* solve every problem you can face on the road. And it's certainly no good for at-home bike work. But it's the best I've found for a very small, very lightweight on-the-bike emergency multitool. I carry this plus a way to change and inflate a tire, and over tens of thousands of miles I have never needed anything else except once when I broke a chain. Love it!

Lightweight, Solid & Basic
This tool has a nice feel in your hand, feels solid when engaging sticky hex bolts, and provides some essential sizes like the 3-6mm hex keys and a Phillips head. I've been using it for a year and hasn't gotten sticky or flimsy as some multi-tools do over time. I'd give it a fifth star if it included a flathead screwdriver and a 2.5mm hex. Those are only available through Crank Bros on the larger tools starting with the 10 function model that are heavier and include things like a Torx tool that I don't need for my road bike. Overall, it's a good balance of minimalist deign, solid build, and essential tools for roadside adjustment.

Right amount of tools
All of the actual tools you need, without the fillers.

An absolute necessity!
This is a great compromise on functionality and size - I have a version of this with twice the amount of tools but it's also quite a bit larger and actually has tools I don't need. This is a must have for rides and would make a great gift for someone getting into cycling! It has the required sizes to make on the go adjustments or help another cyclist out. Never leave home without this or the larger one!

Basic Tool for Basic Repairs
I like this tool, it is nice to have on board if you have limited space in your saddle bag or Camelback. Only good for basic repairs while on the road. If you have the space, and extra money I would opt for the tool with the chain tool on it. You never know when it might come in handy, but when you do need it you will be glad you spent the extra money.

Small and Useful - with added Update
Multi-tools can be a bit hit and miss. Some makers seem to think that only an infinite number of tools is enough, plus the one to get the stones out of horse's hooves of course, making that infinite plus one. You can't wield the tool properly when they are so big so this Crank Brothers tool is excellent. I only needed to add an 8mm allen key and I have most tasks covered in a very small space on my bike. Update I have now bought a second one for a second toolkit on another bike. This bike has mostly 4 and 5mm bolts on it. I had tried a tool similar to a spanner with Allen keys jutting out hither and yon. This was lighter but the tools did not jut out far enough for me to swing it without catching things jutting out from the other end against the touring racks for instance. Whilst the Crank Multi-5 is small, it does give enough clearance between tool end and body to swing the tool, so much better for my needs.

It is extremely solid and well built and the gold finish is really nice. Not too tacky which I was worried about
Bought this not for it's intended purpose as a multi tool, but to use to hold my keys. It is extremely solid and well built and the gold finish is really nice. Not too tacky which I was worried about. I took the tools off and drilled larger holes in my keys so I could attach them in place of the tools. Only thing you may consider if you are doing this is to pick up some extra washers, depending on how many keys you are using. Considering buying the larger crank brothers multi tool to replace my current bike multi tool as I am so impressed with the quality of this one.

Just what i needed
Bought this to go in my puncture kit on the bike, like to be prepared! I checked and all the tools fit the various bike parts and fits nicely in my tool bag, so if anything does comes loose on a ride I have the tools to sort it out. Doesnt weight too much, says 85 g on the package.

Useful for more than your bike
My second one. Won't go anywhere near a bike but handy around the house and very useful for wheelchair adjustments
